Well Adelaide...aren't we lucky to have this facility. Nestled atop of Mt Lofty, breakfasting views in a calm environment along with first rate and attentive service make this a must do. Food in Martha Hardy's Restaurant was both delicious and prompt. Thank you to the staff who are amazing.

Had the pleasure of spending a weekend at the wonderful Mount Lofty House. This is not your average 5 star hotel, this is over& above everything we thought 5 stars were. The attention from the staff at all times is so amazing & makes for a very homely and welcoming stay. The restaurant is 6 star for which I have left a seperate review. From the welcome drink to bottle of sparkling left in the room & absolutely EVERYTHING in between, Mount Lofty House goes over & above with everything they do. This was truly a very special & extra special stay.

An amazing boutique five star hotel. The service was exceptional, the room beautiful. The staff are excellent, Gino did a little history tour for us and it was very informative and quite enjoyable. Breakfast was five star, with a few choices and many additions, plenty of juice and coffee options. I was disappointed in the dinner in the bar. The charcuterie board needed a wet ingredient like a cheese or dip. There was plenty of meat, but I would presume not many people would want just cured meat on a dry cracker or piece of bread. When asked, we were given a delicious pesto. $49 was too expensive for no cheese or fruits. The burger at $38 was on the high side too, with the patty at least a cm inside the bun. The fries were excellent. On departure we were given cookie and a book on Mt Lofty house. I great moments for my birthday.

A five star experience. It's everything that you would expect and more. Staff were all amazing, welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and luxurious and there were a number of different areas to sit and relax. The views were spectacular and the dining was divine. We had a very enjoyable romantic weekend. Would highly recommend.

Me and my girlfriend came here for a birthday dinner at the hardys verandah restaurant, And the both of us couldn’t be anymore happy with not only the food but the outstanding service that was given, the manager who unfortunately I forgot his name. You especially are what makes customers come back. To the minute we walked in, we were greeted by you. While waiting for the last part of our dinner we were offered a walk around, showing us the history of this beautiful place. It’s quite amazing. Food was exceptional, and your staff are amazing at what they do. To the manager and his amazing team. Thank you, we will definitely be coming back. And I myself will be recommended this place to friends and family. Thank you

I can't speak highly enough of this place! The customer service is outstanding, friendly, and thoughtful - the ambience, setting, and rooms are just perfect - and to top it all off, they do the little touches, including by my count two full bottles of sparkling wine and numerous other drinks all gratis and unexpected :) Take your time, pop down to the botanical gardens (which you could spend a whole day at alone), and settle in for a wonderful time in the Adelaide Hills

Had a lovely stay over 4 nights in one of their suites. Highly recommend their day spa for a revitalising massage. The degustation meal at Hardy’s restaurant with the wine pairing was exceptional and highly recommend it. Very easy location to do day trips to Adelaide or Hahndorf.

Beautiful historic Hotel . Advertised as small 30 bed boutique hotel . Unfortunately we had weddings right outside our door both Saturday and Sunday nights with music til midnight . We’re not told at time of booking ,which was a shame . Staff vacuuming at 11pm outside room for extended period was however unforgivable . Stay for the majesty of the building , not the serenity of the location . This was not an attention to detail , exclusive hotel to match the price tag

What a hotel!!! Had the most AMAZING stay with my husband at Mount Lofty House. Everything was absolute perfection. Outstanding service right from the moment you enter. So many fireplaces and cosy places to sit- we had the best cocktails in the hotel bar by the fire on our first evening. We were even lucky enough to catch the most beautiful sunrise on our first morning and enjoyed the sweeping views from the breakfast room. Dinner at Hardy’s was superb and completed our whole stay! Thank you so much Mount Lofty House! We had the most unreal stay and can’t wait to come back!

We had our wedding at Mount Lofty House in April 2023 and we could not have asked for a better experience. Evelyn, the wedding coordinator, was a superstar; responsive, accommodating, professional, and caring. We cannot fault a single element, the day went off without a hitch and the advice and suggestions during planning made for a once in a lifetime experience at Adelaide's best wedding venue and our personal favourite local stay. Thanks for everything Evelyn and team!

What are amazing experience from the time we arrived from Melbourne until the time we left. We were here over three days for a conference, the conference facilities are very good. Check in was quick and simple. And the room was lovely. Plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. we overlooked the pool and the range. What a stunning view I would like to return with my partner as it’s a very romantic setting. Staff were first class and the food delicious. Highly recommend and only a short distance from the city. The library was my favourite chill out room.

My husband and I had our wedding at Mount Lofty House on the 5th March this year and it was absolutely perfect! The staff bend over backwards to help you as soon as you walk through the door, from start to finish our experiences with staff were amazing, they were friendly and helpful and gave the impression that the house runs like clockwork and if anything were amiss you would never know. They were incredibly professional and went above and beyond to make sure we (and our guests) had the most magical experience. Our wedding coordinator Evelyn, was incredible and pulled so many strings to make our day spectacular; organising 60 white umbrellas at a moments notice and would have done a rain dance if she could! We know that years from now we'll look back on our special day and remember Evelyn. The food was out of this world! Our guests said there was so much they wished they could had taken it home! Absolutely 5 star amazing, worth every penny to dine here! Breakfast was amazing, a private dining area for me and my family the next morning was so greatly appreciated and the views were incredible. The rooms were absolutely amazing, so beautiful and old but with top amenities and room service. We will be back on our anniversary to stay every year from now on, we love everything about Mount Lofty House. We cannot fault a single thing. We highly recommend getting married here, dining here, staying here, hosting your next big event here or just go for a lovely stroll and a cup of coffee. A HUGE thank you again to Evelyn the worlds best wedding coordinator and Chris the function manager for making our dreams come true!

We stayed at Mount Lofty House, for 3 nights in the Conservatory Suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous and a special experience. Nicely decorated with quality amenities and a beautiful glimpse of the Adelaide Hills. We appreciated the little things, for example, the nightly drop of dessert wine and truffles found each night upon our return. It is clear that Mount Lofty House celebrates the region that they’re in and supports local. The staff made for a lovely and high-end experience. The entire experience felt like Gleneagles on a smaller, more intimate scale. We look forward to visiting again.

Wonderful place! We stayed for our anniversary and couldn't be happier with our experience. Staff were so attentive, loved the card waiting in our room congratulating us on our anniversary and the cute chocolate plate with our dinner in Hardy's Verandah's restaurant doing the same. Highly recommend the history tour of the estate, Chris was great and kept us entertained (and drinks full). Beautiful area, room was clean and homey. Loved the parting gift of cookies & book on Mount Lofty Estate.

This place was a 5 star experience in all respects and I would definitely go back. The experience starts from time of check in, where it takes place with the guests seated comfortably and drinks in hand. The picadilly room was beautiful and overlooked the valley and offered great views. It was comfortable and I loved the hardcover books which lined the shelves which gave guests a mini library in the room. The hotel offers complimentary tour of the hotel every afternoon with drinks. I enjoyed sipping on their own ice tea spritz and champagne as our host Silvia gave us a run down of the property's history. It was very comfortable to sit in the hotel and take it all in. I enjoyed eating breakfast at Martha's restaurant that looked over the valley also. Altogethr it was an excellent stay and cost is a bit inhibitive but worth it

Mt Lofty, the best wedding location in SA! Our wedding was perfect and everything about Mt Lofty excelled the food, venue, accommodation, staff! If you want a fairy wedding it’s the place! It doesn’t get any better. Evelyn the wedding co-ordinator was brilliant and we felt like royalty during our entire stay! We can’t thank Evelyn and the team at Mt Lofty enough :)

The culinary experience exceeded all expectations, leaving my taste buds in a state of pure delight. Every dish was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with a harmonious fusion of flavors and textures. From the first bite to the last, each plate was a symphony of taste, demonstrating the chef's mastery and passion for creating exceptional cuisine. This dining journey was an exquisite adventure that I won't soon forget.

Amazing experience from welcome to departure. Staff were warm and attentive was like visiting family. Rooms were beautiful, clean and beds comfortable. Amazing view from Piccadilly suites. Just the feel and ambience was modern and in keeping with historic nature of the building.

To call this place incredible would be the understatement of the century! Along with the breathtaking views of the Mt Lofty Ranges, this beautiful house has managed to keep as much of its original historic features despite being gutted by bushfire some years ago. The restaurants serve mouth-watering food that is beautifully presented. The staff here are also extremely friendly and always have the biggest smiles on their faces. Today, I just visited this wonderful establishment as a tourist. However, I am sold on the idea of coming back to spend a few nights to take in all the beauty and glory this place has to offer!

We stayed here after our wedding and it was absolutely perfect! The service is wonderful and so personal, the views are breathtaking, and the restaurant/bistro meals are superb! Highly recommend the afternoon tour too. There is so much you can enjoy about the hotel and surrounds during your stay without any need to leave the grounds for entertainment. We can’t wait to return!

Loved our stay here! The setting is stunning and exactly what we needed to end our trip in South Australia. Bubbles (or Grapefruit Iced Tea) on arrival as we checked in. Chilled atmosphere throughout, and excellent service by all. The small touches across our stay were very welcome and just added to the experience. Heated pool, history tour, cookies in room, coffee table book as you leave etc. Breakfast was good, 2 days out of 3 consistent. I would say the single side of one small mushroom and one small plum tomato doesn’t add up to the generous sides of bacon or greens. Dinner was a superb experience, expertly paired with local wines. We will be back.

Absolutely stunning place. The views are magnificent, and the landscape and gardens are just incredible. Great place to get away for lunch . Loved it. I think it will be a must to come back and stay a couple of nights and have dinner as well. The food we had and cocktails were excellent.

Mt. Lofty House - historic, absolutely beautiful, so welcoming and so very comfortable. Thanks to the awesome Christopher, who with his own inimitable flair, gave a well-researched, humorous and interesting tour of the House, and the hotel’s story so far… Christopher impressed with his passion and energy, and his obvious pride in being a part of something special. His welcome started us off on our stay for our special occasion celebration. The hotel and gardens are magnificent, the Harry’s Verandah Restaurant (HVR) special with its panoramic views, and a good night’s sleep pretty much assured with great beds and super pillows. Re-charged for the day with a superb breakfast in HVR that was very generous in flavour, good coffee, and great surrounds. We will be back. Many thanks - had a great stay.

My stay at Mount Lofty House Estate was nothing short of exceptional. From the breathtaking property and its stunning views to the luxurious rooms that felt like a home away from home, every detail was impeccable. The staff's friendliness and warmth truly made the experience unforgettable. The food was divine, each meal a culinary delight. Celebrating my 30th birthday here was a dream come true, and I am already planning my return. Highly recommended for couples seeking a serene getaway! Thank you to the Mount Lofty House Estate team for a memorable birthday.

Perfect luxurious accommodation for our 34th wedding anniversary. Staff were very friendly and happy. Lovely upgrade, including bubbles and delicious cookies were greatly appreciated. Bed was so comfy and really loved the Jurlique bathroom products. Dinner and breakfast was fantastic. Can’t fault our stay at all and will definitely be returning.

We stayed with two young kids and had an amazing experience. We were initially really upset that we could not experience fine dining as we were told over the phone that we had to pay per person for our group even for the kids aged 1 & 2 yo! However you really turned our rating from 1 star to 5 stars. On arrival, Chris organised a private room for us for fine dining and we managed to order from a separate kids menu for the children. Food was delicious but most importantly we managed to enjoy all our meals in comfort with excellent service. We have stayed in lots of places with beautiful view and rooms but this experience was truly a personalised one.

Had the most wonderful 1-night stay here. Our only regret was not staying for 2! Highly recommend you participate in the 5pm introductory talking tour (free) as there is so much history to this site and rooms you won’t get to see otherwise. You also get a sense of the passion all the staff have for their place of work. Excellent experience. Oh, and a super comfortable bed!

Excellent. Great service. Stunning building with large, well appointed rooms. The views differ so be conscious of that when booking. We stayed in a garden view room which actually has nice views than the valley room views at the moment as there is construction taking place in that direction. Restaurants on site are great and there’s a fantastic pub in Crafers only 3 minutes drive away if you do want something different. Highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mt Lofty House. Every staff member we came across provided professional service. The dinner at Hardy Verandah was amazing. As was breakfast with a beautiful view over the hills. We will definitely be back again, it would've been great to have time for a hike and a massage too.

You get what you pay for. The the hotel is beautiful and amazing and stunning and... well you get the picture, we love it. However for me, this is not what made our anniversary weekend away memorable. It was the staff, from Cia on the front desk to William behind the bar, from Simone the sommelier(whom remembered us from a year ago) to Christopher and Kung in the dining area for breakfast. The service is impeccable and all the staff are polite and exceptionally attentive. They cannot do enough for you. The food too is an experience that is a must. Like I said, you get what you pay for!!! It's next level dining and although it's seems pricey, you will not regret it. We love coming here. To step away from the rush of the world into complete picturess, relaxation is a rare thing. Spend that little extra, you won't regret it.

Such an amazing experience. The staff showed a true passion for they do and a love for providing a wonderful experience for every person who walks through their doors. If you want to treat someone special (or even just yourself), highly recommend giving this wonderful team a chance. They won't disappoint.

Pinot Cottage is disappointing and overpriced. I would guess it was staff accommodation at some point. The furniture is old and battered. The floors and outdoor areas are wood and need varnishing or ideally, replacing. It’s too far from the main house to walk. They will come and pick you up, which is fine but not ideal. On the plus side the beds were comfortable.

Checked in this weekend to celebrate my husbands birthday after booking a room described online as opening onto ‘tranquil gardens’. Well apparently the tranquil gardens are a wooden slatted wall and the top of a marquee. What bothers me most is that after looking online I actually phoned the hotel to confirm the type of room I was booking and was told that I would overlook the pool or the terrace garden. (This was also not the base room type). It is disappointing to give this review as there were aspects of the property which were lovely. Check-in was welcoming, warm and professional. The surrounding gardens were lovely, where we enjoyed afternoon drinks, which were prepared well. The rooms themselves are also neat and tidy with upgraded bathrooms. However for me it is important for you to be honest with customers about what room type they may be getting as people make decisions based on this and on this occasion I would have chosen to book elsewhere had I been fully informed.

We spent two nights in a beautiful and spacious Valley View Piccadilly Suite. It was stunning as was every part of this charming and luxurious boutique hotel. Our degustation dinner in Hardy’s was amazing although quite pricey with wines. Breakfasts were delicious but the service a bit spotty. The history tour of the buildings by Chris with sparkling wine was great.

We stayed three nights in March 2022 for our 25th anniversary as part of the romance package (room, dinner at Hardy’s Veranda and flowers on arrival) t was an excellent experience from start to finish, with unobtrusive but helpful staff. We stayed in the conservatory Suite which was well appointed and luxurious. A great base to relax a unwind, read a book, take a swim, visit the botanic gardens or hike to My Lofty summit. We found the experience so much letter than the nearby sequoia lodge & would recommend Mt Lofty House to couples

No words to explain how beautiful this place is. We had a 3 day conference here during 19-21st Feb 2023, and I have nothing but complements. From unbelievably friendly hospitality to most amazing mouth watering food, Mount Loftus House can be recommended to anyone without hesitation. The place inherits a rich culture, which you can feel when walking inside. Outside, the hotel is surrounded by breathtaking Adelaide Hills. Make sure to watch the sunrise from the balcony to witness the best sunrise you’ll ever see in your life. Cleanliness is also next to nothing. Couldn't find any issues to mention about. Keep up the good work!!

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. This company has no idea how to deal with their clients. Our wedding had to be postponed due to COVID-19 and they did NOT CARE about our situation, they only care about money, you are a simple transaction to them.. a management like that should not be running such a business. We had to pay them $10.000 for a wedding never happened, they even tried to get us to pay the remaining balance on top of the 10K based on more excuses like "sorry but the food has been ordered already" are you serious?!!!. How can you not even offer a later date, when the client is willing to have a bigger event with more guests once the world is back to normal?!! This is just absurd from a business point of view... the owner of the business should be aware of this. This management HAS TO GO, they are ruining the reputation of this incredible venue.

From the outset i will give Mount Lofty House 5 out of 5 stars. If you want a place that is tranquil, relaxing and comfortable, then this is the place. Sit by the pool or enjoy a light meal and overlook the Piccadilly Valley. Walk around the nearby gardens. Enjoy a quiet drink at the bar. Savour some of the local Adelaide Hills produce paired with a wine from either SA, Australia or pretty much any where in the world in the a la carte restaurant. Sit in the communal study and play a game of chess or read a book. What ever you decide, you will enjoy. But the best part of the experience? The service. What left my wife and myself the best impression is the service. The staff were amazing. Friendly. Courteous. Knowledgeable. They were there to ensure our stay was memorable. Nothing was an issue for them. From reception through to our departure we had the best experience because of all the friendly staff that were willing to help make it the best experience for us! Seriously - it's worth the money! 20 mins up the freeway and it felt like we were somewhere else.

Superb old world charm of residence. The most delicious and unbelievable food at breakfast and degustation dinner. Above all, the people who took care of us were absolutely Amazing!! From Silvia, Christopher & Fenella at Reception to the young bartenders and the young staff of the most talented people who served us at dinner & breakfast. Every moment we spent in this beautiful house, we were pampered and loved by all. Our congratulations to the management for having such a happy team for this is what makes the holiday so special.

This property is highly misleading in their deprivation of the rooms online. Our room was internal with no window or natural sunlight or out look - as depicted in the photos they displayed online across multiple booking sites and their website. They also charge absorbent prices for these internal rooms and do nog warm guests in advance that’s what they will receive so 100% not worth the money and the management are extremely arrogant and dismissive of this issue despite being aware of it. The food is horribly over priced and of very poor standard and they sneak on all sorts of hidden fees without warning. I would not recommend staying here. Plenty of other high end accommodation that’s worth the money.

Outstanding service at a breathtaking venue Mount Lofty House is an exquisite hotel, well deserving of it 5 star rating. Its interior and artworks are sublime with numerous delightful spaces to get away from the house's bustle. The staff were incredible. We felt so pampered from the moment we arrived until we left, and Chris was an absolute stand-out member of the service team. Breakfast was excellent but I would skip the restaurant and bistro (only due to the food). The former was mediocre for the price and the later was poor. However, this does not reflect on the hotel itself which was a fantastic stay.
