Originally had gone to take a look around but didn't realise there was a team of volunteers there to help guide us around and answer all our questions. It was a very valuable experience and it was great to see how technology progressed over the years. I would highly recommend visiting.

The museum houses the best and most comprehensive display of communications equipment and its history in Qld. This encompasses everything from Telegraph ( Morse ) gear to recently redundant telephony equipment. Staffed by a knowledgeable group of volunteers who have access to a mine of information.

While initially reluctant to go, the Telstra Museum turned out to be a real eye-opening educational experience for my wife and I. Who knew that decades ago Telstra actually provided genuine customer service to their customer base? For those of us who have grown up in the Filipino Call-centre Labyrinth era, this was truly an insightful revelation.

If you want to see how everything works using the old landline, then this place is it. They have put in so much effort. Job well done.

The new CDMA Base station rack to the left of the Analogue Base station rack just installed in the Museum CDMA was installed in 1999 and shut down in 2008. The frequency of 850 Mhz was then used for 3G

Peter and James did an excellent job of showing us around the museum, and explaining the world of wonderful technologies inside.

Anthony gave my friend and I a great tour. He was very knowledgeable and demonstrated many of the phones, devices and machines for us. The experience was very interactive and interesting. We had no idea what to expect walking in but it was worth the visit!

Well the last time I visited the museum it was crammed into a shed at the back of Albion Exch.. As a 41 yr PMG, Telecom, Telstra techo 1956 to 1997, I am so amazed at the transformation I must visit again.

The Telstra Museum contains an amazing amount of historical telecommunications equipment. From telegraphs to pagers, Morse code to facsimile, there's an amazing amount of history in this place. The volunteers offering tours are knowledgeable and passionate about this often-overlooked part of history that is now commonplace. This is definitely a recommended stop on any museum map!

Lyndley was a star guide! My friends and I had a great time learning all about telephones, the older ones from the 1800s were definitely our favourite! Super cool and can’t wait to come back with my other friends!

Last Wednesday 30/10/19 the Probus Club of Coorparoo went for a tour of the Telstra Museum, believe me, this is well worth the 2 hour tour. We started off with a 40 minute video lecture, which at times was quite funny, looking back and going through the ages of Telecommunication. This is a working Museum and there are telephones from 1878, Morse Code Demonstrations, Switchboards ( working units) Teleprinters and Telex machines. Don had organised our tour, and all the other men who are volunteers do a wonderful job and they enjoy their hobby which makes it so interesting. Thank you for an interesting afternoon, our Members really enjoyed your tour.
