The best time of the year to go is right before the cherry blossom festival that they run, trying to dodge all the people and take photo is def hard work, especially when Asian old ladies would just walk right in to your shot and start posing. I would recommend to go during a weekday. The place is well managed and the entry fee is fairly cheap.

Place is free for locals in the Cumberland Council. $6 for non-locals. Photogenic for events like weddings. Japanese Garden and a mini zoo. Great place to spend an afternoon with the family. The geese here are cheeky and always nice seeing the peacocks roam freely. The cherry blossoms are a sight to enjoy (can't wait to catch it again this year).

It's a good place to spend a couple of hours. Easy paths with few steps. It's got some nice Chinese gardens that make beautiful backdrop for photos ..water features ..animals..park for kids and ample space to walk around. There isn't much to do per say..but it's a good getaway for young families or u have folks visiting for om overseas and you wanted to show them some Australian animals ..flora and fauna. It's ticketed very reasonably..but free only for Cumberland residents from the sign I read. Would suggest bringing in a picnic or a brekky and enjoy a nice day. There isn't much shade here..so avoid on rainy days. There's plenty of shade so still good on sunny days.

A hidden gem in the heart of Auburn. Auburn Botanic Gardens is a great spot to spend time and enjoy the beauty of the place with friends and family. It unexpectedly provides a relaxing atmosphere to refresh. It’s small zoo is an amazing experience for children. Free parking on spot. Entry fee is 6$ but it’s Free for Auburn City Council residents and people under 16. Highly recommended!!!

This botanic garden has fantastic scenery and the cherry 🍒 blossoms are iconic to visit in very first of spring. It is free on weekdays but adults should pay $4 in weekends. There are some free parking spaces outside the park but we waited for 20 minutes to find one which shows they aren’t enough for weekends. Sightseeing was pleasant mostly because of some brides and grooms in Korean traditional suits, were celebrating their weddings here. Memorable experience for us. 👍🌺🌺🌺

I recently attended the Cherry Blossom Festival in Auburn, Sydney, and I was absolutely captivated by the enchanting beauty of the event. The sight of the cherry blossoms in full bloom was simply mesmerizing, creating a picturesque atmosphere that felt like stepping into a fairytale. The well-organized layout and variety of activities ensured there was something for everyone to enjoy – from cultural performances to delectable food stalls. The festival's ambiance radiated joy and tranquility, making it an ideal outing for families, couples, and nature enthusiasts. I left with my heart full of wonderful memories and my camera full of stunning snapshots. Kudos to the organizers for putting together such a remarkable celebration of nature's beauty. I can't wait to return next year and experience the magic all over again!

A garden in the middle of the city! This is beautiful for kids, elderly people. It's nice to visit any season. I loved the animals on the side...and that mirror lake was spectacular with all the autumn colors

This is a beautifully designed garden. It is great for kids to see ducks, fishes and reptiles in the gardens. The peacock put up a great show of his feathers when we visited. Very scenic, serene and highly recommend to visit.

Such a nice peaceful and tranquil location. Been well taken care of by grounds keepers. Huge improvement compared to how it was back in the 90s.

Went to the Cherry Blossom Festival today. Loved seing the peacocks, Wallabies and wombat. The flowers and cherry blossoms are beautiful, and the food stalls were really nice but it was extremely crowded. Also not a fan of the fake turquoise colour of the ponds and waterfalls..... Not sure if it is dyed on purpose or what causes it.

Overall, it was a good experience. The Japanese garden is well maintained. You can get some cool photos if you reach early. The ticket price is reasonable too. I am not sure if there is a cafe cos I couldn't find one

Lots of animals, the peacocks and wallabies and geese were very nice to see. Whilst it was a shame to not have seen the cherry blossoms in season, the rest of the garden was still very scenic with the various waterfalls and other water features.

The Japanese garden, refection pool and sunken rose garden parts are nice and relaxing. The rest of the park is less attractive. It is fun to see the fauna enclosure though, especially the emus.

Fee - Adult 7$ If you wish to see Cherry Blossoms 🌸 these days, (visited on 11th Sept) mind that there are no cherry blossoms by now. There are few crab apple blossoms trees. But the garden house many different trees flowers and an artificially grown rain forest. It’s well built garden with a Japanese garden, Rose garden (no flowers yet), a scented garden, Australian Native garden and Native animal enclosure. Most of the trees have a plaques with its name, family, common name. A big fish pond is located inside Japanese garden. The water looked black and polluted. But there were big carp fish if you like to see. I was surprised to see a pride of peacocks roaming freely inside the garden. They are free to fly outside and saw a one crossing the road 😁. Kangaroos, wallabies and emus was there in the animal enclosure. Good place to have picnics, to bring kids and take photos. Park have accessible roads. No nearby place to buy food or snacks. There was outside ice cream van, which accepts cash only. But accepted a bank transfer since we did not have cash.

The hardens are really beautiful. It was a quiet day when we were there so it was easy to find some quiet lawn for our picnic. There is a real variety of gardens to wander. It would be easy to spend all day here. The little Australian wildlife park lets you get really close to some of our most famous creatures. There is plenty of bird life across the park. Highlights: 1. The Lone Pine pine tree baby 2. The waterfalls 3. The old sun dial - you need to use your body. Negatives: nothing

Best time of the year to visit in August for the Cherry Blossom festival. Book your tickets in advance. Crowd management is excellent. Bird park across the street brings in peacocks as well, an added attraction

We visited the gardens over the years a lot of times ❤️ And yesterday we visited again free entry ❤️ But the the cherry blossoms have just finished 😢 but the roses should be starting to grow new growth again. There are more male peacocks than females! The geese are still running around ❤️ The gardens are nice in the spring and autumn 🍂❤️

It is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike who are interested in nature, horticulture, and outdoor recreation.

First time here but heard good things about this garden. Nice Japanese garden and also enjoyed the Australian garden and wildlife enclosure. The Koa fish are huge and plenty. Saw plenty wildlife including water Minotaur, scrub Turkey, Ibis (in natural habitat and not around bins😁), various ducks and birds. There's warning of snakes. I only wish there was a cafe nearby or on site but we enjoyed the gardens and will return. I suggest to take food and have a picnic when you visit. Keep up the good work Cumberland Council!👍

This place is beautiful in spring and autumn. There is very good inclusive playground for children, small but nice, with picnic table. No electric grill incide gardens, but there are some outside, next to the park. Restroom is busy because there is just 1 "seat".

Visited Auburn Botanic Gardens for the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival 2023. It was worth the visit! Ticket for non-residence is around 15 AUD. Better if you buy the ticket in advance. We entered the ticketed session at 11.45 a.m and finished at around 2 p.m. Even though the queue was quite long, but it didn't matter since it was very organised and you got to see a lot of full-bloomed cherry blossom/sakura! And also they had Fauna Reserve and there you could see beautiful peacocks, emu, wallaby, kangaroo and wombat! Definitely will come back again next year!

Joined the Cherry Blossoms Festival in Auburn Botanic Gardens. Nice arrangement and saw many peacocks walking around freely. Unfortunately, I’m a bit late so past the full blossom period snd scenery, but still a very nice garden with Festival set up including the catering trucks.

This is a very well designed and maintained botanical garden and accessible by vehicles or an easy half-hour walk from the train station. What I find most attractive is the Japanese garden with cherry trees, water features, etc. There's a dedicated Australian native garden with clear pathways meandering around it. There's public lavatory inside the park. During the cherry blossoms season (around July or August), it costs to enter the Japanese garden. It's worth exploring, especially for families and children.

(Translated by Google) I'm so lucky to have a garden like this in Urban. A great place for nature and animals to go for a walk or a date There are also outdoor barbecue facilities on the outside, so many people visit families on weekends. Admission fee will be charged during the Flower Festival, and the Flower Festival will be held. These days, it's open for free due to the corona incident, so if you go nearby, be sure to stop by. Very cute animal friends will greet you One of Sydney's prettiest gardens, bigger than expected and charming Recommended as one of the must-visit places when you come to Sydney It is forbidden to feed animals individually or to stress them. Annual Cherry blossom festival! What a beautiful and picturesque place to be! The gardens and the festival were a well organized event well worth the price of entry. It includes a walking trail showcasing beautifully kept garden, pond with ducks, a waterfall, magnolias in bloom and ofcourse the star of the show, The magnificent Cherry Blossom trees in full bloom with their petite petals in pastel pink! There is also a Japanese food festival and harujuku mini-golf to experience within the premises. All in all a great day that is best done early before the crowds rush in!

Botanical garden is the best place for family picnic.. there are some restaurants inside the park where you can get something to eat and at the end of the park there is a butterfly madams where the shows are hosting with fun and food..park is very large. Some people are trying to draw the beauty of nature on the paper… carry your food with you and you can spend the whole day at the park… you can host your picnic plans with your family and friends at this park… we feel relaxed and energetic at this park want to spend more time there😜

Well maintained Japanese Style Garden. Small collection of emu, kangaroo, wallabies, Koi fish and peacocks. Beautiful grass area for picnic, children's play area and picnic ground outside. Reasonable fee for non residents over the weekend. Children enjoy it a lot here. I would recommend visiting. If possible try for a period with cherry blossom (not free though).

Beautiful would just not be sufficient to define the place. Very well maintained with a wide range of animals. You would see peacocks roaming around with you in open. Dozens of fishes in the clean water pond. It's a very big park and would need couple of hours to cover the entire place. For Cumberland residents the entry is free, else they charge around 5$.

A Captivating Oasis: Auburn Botanical Garden I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Auburn Botanical Garden, and I must say it is an absolute gem. Nestled away in a serene corner of the city, this stunning botanical wonderland left me enchanted and awestruck. With its immaculate landscapes, diverse flora, and tranquil ambiance, Auburn Botanical Garden is a place that should not be missed by nature enthusiasts and beauty seekers alike. From the moment I stepped foot into the garden, I was greeted by a symphony of colors and fragrances. The meticulously maintained pathways wind their way through vibrant flower beds, ornamental gardens, and lush greenery. Every corner seems to hold a new surprise, from exotic plant species to beautifully crafted sculptures that harmonize seamlessly with nature. One of the highlights of my visit was the Japanese Garden, a true masterpiece. The meticulous arrangement of rocks, water features, and meticulously pruned bonsai trees transported me to a serene world of Zen. The tranquility I experienced there was unparalleled, and I found myself lost in contemplation and inner peace. Another aspect that sets Auburn Botanical Garden apart is its commitment to preserving and showcasing Australian native flora. The native garden section was a delight to explore, with an array of unique plants that are not often seen in everyday life. I was particularly captivated by the indigenous bushland area, which gave me a glimpse into the rich biodiversity of the region. To fully savor the beauty of Auburn Botanical Garden, I would highly recommend planning your visit on weekdays rather than weekends. While the garden is undoubtedly popular, weekdays offer a quieter and more intimate experience. This allows you to immerse yourself in the natural surroundings without the crowds, ensuring a more serene and immersive experience. In addition to the natural wonders, the Auburn Botanical Garden also hosts various events and exhibitions throughout the year. These events celebrate different cultures, arts, and horticultural themes, adding an extra layer of charm and diversity to the garden. The staff and volunteers at Auburn Botanical Garden deserve special recognition for their dedication and knowledge. They are friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist visitors with any questions they may have. Their passion for the garden is evident, and their efforts contribute to maintaining its pristine condition. Whether you are a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a place of tranquility and beauty, Auburn Botanical Garden is a must-visit destination. Its breathtaking landscapes, diverse flora, and serene atmosphere create a haven where one can escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Take my advice and plan your visit on a weekday to fully appreciate the garden's splendor and experience the utmost tranquility. Prepare to be amazed, captivated, and inspired by the sheer beauty of Auburn Botanical Garden.

Auburn Botanic Gardens is located in the corner of Chisholm and Chiswick Roads in Auburn. The Sydney Cherry Blossom festival is held here making headlines across Australia with thousands experiencing a ‘Slice of Japan’ in Western Sydney. The botanical garden includes a community picnic area with plenty of BBQs and playground, a Fauna Reserve and bird aviary, a native and rainforest garden, a scented garden and sunken rose garden and an Amphitheatre.

Paid a visit to Auburn botanic Gardens last weekend. The event was very well organised with traffic being managed, crowd controllers making sure smooth movements of the human traffic. The garden was beautifully arranged with a number of food trucks catering to diverse cultures. They even had a bar area, complete with RSA checks and bouncers on standby!! Well done Auburn Council for a smooth delivery of this spring event.

Attended the 2023 Cherry Clossom festival at the Gardens. I have not visited the garden before so was excited. Decided to go during the 9am timeslot before it got too crazy with the crowds and it was a smart choice as it got even more crowded after and we had plenty of time to eat multiple rounds of food and have a place to sit. The cherry blossoms weren't as full as I expected even though they were still beautiful. It was hard to get more photo opportunities as everyone was in the way, waiting or taking longer to take pictures/videos. It was straightforward and the food we ate was delicious. It was nice to have Japanses cuisine but also having the option of having Western food there as well. It didn't take too long to eat all the food we wanted and walk/take pictures in the garden. It was very pleasant afterwards as we walked around the zoo and the aviary which were free. Definitely recommend going as it is a must see event.

The Auburn Botanic Gardens are a botanical garden located in Auburn (a suburb of Sydney), New South Wales, Australia. It was established in 1977 and covers an area of 9.7 hectares (24 acres). There are two lakes, a waterfall and bridges. Duck River winds through the garden. The garden is maintained by Cumberland Council. It is open daily, and there is a small entry fee on weekends. The Japanese gardens, which have hosted couples from overseas, are one of the main attractions(Wikimedia). I really recommend this place for families with kids, it is really nice place for a day out with some animals and birds around. And also you can book for photo session.

  • 3/5 Helena F. 3 years ago on Google
It is a fabulous place to wander around for a half day. A beautiful Japanese Garden within the Botanic Garden has created the wondeful Picture in Picture effects. The best seasons to visit this garden would be Spring, when Cherry Blossom begin; and Autumn, when golden leaves thrive. There are also Peacock, White Ibis, Ducks and Geese in the park, which would be marvelous for the kids. A popular Wedding Photography venue too. I have been there a few times. Several photos attached.

Teetering on the edge of tranquility, it’s a cute place for a date. Take the kids here too, why not. Look at some peacocks, some geese, some ducks. There’s a couple of baby geese getting around that are unusually friendly but enjoyable to watch. Outside of cherry blossom season it’s a very quiet place.

Adventure through one of the most beautiful Japanese gardens Sydney has to offer at Auburn Botanic Gardens. Visitors young and young-at-heart can enjoy the gorgeous and well-kept fauna reserve, animal enclosure, with spacious picnic areas, a serene reflection pool, amphitheatre, maze and colourful equal access playground for the kids. See if you can spot some ducks, geese and koi fish in the water along the way, and be sure to stop by the Japanese tea house on our way out for one last photo.
