We love the hostel! It has a really cool family vibe, very clean and they even provide you with a bag and space for your food, the staff is super friendly, specially Lo, we love her! They also have events going on each day, we even extended our stay to be part of family dinner and it was the best! The hostel really nail the service, Brunswick is a really cool area to explore as well, a big thank you to all the staff that made our stay awesome <3

Living in this hostel felt like living in a big house with your best friends. Everyone is so nice and warm with each other. You'll enjoy wholesome moments every day. The staff is wonderful. Lots of love to Amanda, Arnie, Agustín and Silvie for being so friendly and helpful. The location is very convenient too. You have the 96 tram 1 block away, which goes straight to the CBD. There is also Luther's Scoop just in the front, which is one of the best ice cream shop in Melbourne. We all enjoyed going there everytime we could. Thanks Landing Pads, for making my first month in Australia, one of the best months of my life.

Stayed here during covid. Lovely hostel honestly, the housekeepers were great too. The owner however, avoid him if you can. He is neurotic and inconsistent. Can't even follow his own rules either. During my stay there I had been yelled at verbally abused by MULTIPLE men, one even needed to be removed by the police and was on meth. The owner is the only bad thing about this hostel. He is as fake as they come.

I stayed at LP for seven months. Here’s what I think: Form the start, Booking was easy, staff are well trained, they welcomed me and introduced me to everyone, showed me the place and explained the rules and how everything works in the hostel ( laundry, kitchen, bedrooms). Most staff (aka friends) live in hostel so I was well looked after. The hostel is very well managed. Cleaning is done on time. Kitchen, toilets and common areas are cleaned everyday. Bedrooms are cleaned once a week. Smoking is only allowed in the backyard. Sanitisers are provided and covid instructions are followed (on side note F covid). The owner (he’s a genius) makes sure staff are doing their job, does maintenance and spends whatever time left with the guests. I was given LP phone number to message in case I needed anything in regard to my stay at the hostel. There are events/activities happening almost everyday so it’s really difficult to get bored. Events are managed by the hostel’s staff or guests. Family dinner and movie night are happening every week same time, other activities vary depending on the time day and availability of guests and staff. Some events and competitions come with rewards which is awesome. Parties are fun:). Events board is in the kitchen if you need to find out what is happening on that week. LGBTQIA+ and all races are respected here (It’s a safe place). Activities make bonding with others an easy task. Location is perfect, amazing restaurants and parks around. I loved walking to Merri Creek and stopping by CERES. Very Good Falafel, A1 Bakery, Green Acre Pizza (discounts on Tuesday). Indian and middle eastern grocers + many tiny hidden gems that you need to move your legs and explore to find them. Heaps of OP shops. Woolies, Coles, Aldi (F Aldi, don’t go there), Kmart, Bunnings. Tram and bus are just around the corner, train station is 5 mins walk. Neighbourhood is cool, join its fb group so you stay connected to people around, they’re kind and helpful. I learned a lot here and made many friends, most likely will visit again for short stay. Seriously, thank you LP. I hope this helps you, may you have a good stay and your bedroom to be free of earsplitting snores <3.

Best backpacker hostel I’ve ever lived in. There are several rules to follow, including public area like garden, living room and kitchen, and private rooms. These rules make the living quality extremely good! The crew was friendly and host various events every night. But you have to stay for at least 7 nights.

Great place if you want to meet new friends, feel like home, share tips and good times, rest and discover an exciting neighborhood ! The staff is as friendly as it is efficient, you feel safe and welcomed the minute you step in. You will want to extend your stay for sure. I don’t think I will stay in another hostel in Melbourne, I recommend it at 100% !

Landing Pads is, no doubt, THE BEST HOSTEL I've ever done! It's a bit out of the CBD, but that makes it perfect. It's located in my favorite suburb of Melbourne, Brunswick, but still easy to catch a tram to the city, so you don't feel disconnected at all. Aside from that, the vibe in the hostel is such a great family feeling that you won't find anywhere else (and I did a looot of hostels). I stayed here for almost 3 months and it hurt me so bad leaving that magical place. The manager is so helpful and encouring for any kind of situation you're having. Also the family feeling made traveling so easy, cause everyone is open to help & won't make you miss home. The hostel also provides activities such as movienight/family dinner weekly. Makes it even more easy to connect. 100% recommend Landing Pads. Definitely coming back here!

Landing Pads is a hostel like no other. The house feels like a home very quickly, enough to make most people extend their stay beyond the initial week. I stayed for two months whilst working in Melbourne and they were some of the best of my travels. The manager Matt puts so much into the house and I especially appreciated the job seekers tutorial that he runs, giving you the confidence and tips to get sorted with a job. Cleanliness, hostel events and a good community feel are top priorities and it shows. Won't be forgetting my time in LP any time soon!

Location is amazing and the people are even better. I’ve stayed at many hostels all over and this is the best one by far. It feels more like a share house than a hostel. Everyone is so welcoming here. Redd is lovely and made me feel welcome right away. She organized so many events like pumpkin carving and trivia that bring people together. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling solo.

Great way to settle into my adventure down under. Came fresh off plane and Redd (off shift hostel worker) immediately welcomed me and put me at ease. You can really tell the staff care about the work they are doing, she's a testament to that. Really good sense of community, work hard play hard atmosphere. The team plan activities (brewery tours, family dinner, dancing, etc). So if you are looking for company there's always the option. Many of the residents are working so they also respect your right to privacy and quiet. Being around like minded people really helped me get settled in Melbourne. Within my 10day stay I had the help and advice to get my job, househare and other admin done. Even managed to make group of friends! Highly recommend staying with my friends at LP

Landing Pads is the one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in and choose to stay here every time I come to Melbourne. The facilities are clean and well organised, the hostel is quiet during the week but has parties and social events on the weekends as well, this makes for a good balance and makes it easy to live here long term. Also great location just off Sydney Road.

Super dedicated staff who are always up for a chat. Clean rooms and shared areas. And a hole lot of amazing shared experiences on the road, round the table and exploring the city. Stayed here for 3 months. Would definitely recommend staying here on your travels.

A day after I arrived I was messaged to say if I would like to stay another week. I replied "Hey Landing pad. I'll be staying an extra week. If that's all good." As I had only been in Australia for a week and was looking for work. I then get a message from them saying that they're sorry I'm not staying and that my check out day was Monday. Very odd as I'd told Matt and staff that I was staying long term. Then when I replied that I had messaged them the week prior. I then got a phone call from the snotty manager saying that although he had made a mistake. It was my fault. I was told I could pay for 2 extra days or leave on that day. So I paid for the 48 hours in fear of being made homeless for the foreseeable. He didn't even offer any alternatives. Basically my problem now. When I returned to the hostel I was given a snotty telling off because "My stuff should be gone and I shouldn't be here". I would have thought at bare minimum,Matt the hostel manager would have informed the staff but nope. My fault again apparently. I spoke to several other guests and apparently this happens a fair bit. Messages are ignored. So I could have stayed if a cancellation becomes available but if not ,hey-ho. See you later. Doesn't really concerned him that he's just made someone look for a new place to live. As long as the money is rolling in, morals go out the window. Thanks Matt for being so incompetent that because of your error and inability to read texts I was facing being homeless until I found a place. Your lack of care as a "hostel manager" made my mental health worse and physically drained. Hard enough trying to get on my feet in a new country but to have this on top of it all. The most dry, uncaring apology. Sorry I mean "warm regards". Didn't seem to care at all. Even though I was here first and paid rent and said I was staying. I had to suffer for his error and was booted out but it's apparently my fault for him not reading messages. It's very hard for me to write a decent review when the manager made me homeless due to his incompetents.

Landing Pads is a wonderful hostel for long-term stay. The vibes here are more like a shared house than a regular hostel. Living there feels like being part of a big family. Everybody is really warm and caring. We organised fun and chilled events like picnics, going to bars or salsa classes, helped each other finding jobs and had breakfasts and dinners together. The hostel is very well organised and thought out. It is tidy, clean and everybody is respectfull. I had a great time! Props to Redd, Virginie, Mark, Ezra and Matt (the hardworking team), Thank you!

Nicest hostel in Melbourne for sure! Lovely people and special big up for Redd that is always bringing her energy to organize nice activities in the evenings. She just care about all people feeling confortable and get along together in the hostel.

The best hostel in whole Melbourne. It’s more like a Sharehouse and you really feel comfortable with the environment and the people living there. The Staff is the nicest you can find in a hostel. Especially Virgine with her wholesomeness and Mark with whom you always have a laugh. The next time I’m going to Melbourne I will definitely book this hostel again.

Go to this hostel if you want to stay in Melbourne! I‘ve had the best time there during my semester as an exchange student. Initially I intended to stay for a week but ended up staying for 4,5 months because I loved the vibe and the effort the owner puts into the hostel and all its facilities. Thanks to the amazing staff, especially Virginie, Mark, Ezra and Redd who contributed a lot to my stay by cleaning the hostel and organising weekly events.

Best hostel I've stayed in, in Australia! Checked in for 3 days but ended up staying 4 months. The kitchen is super modern, everything is really clean, and the people are so friendly. Matt the owner goes out of his way to make it a great environment to live in. Thanks for having us, no doubt we'll be back ☺️

How lucky I am to have found a place that makes leaving so difficult. In April 2021, I booked a week here as a solo traveler, then I ended up staying on as a staff member for 9 months. Fast forward to now and I'm visiting again as my last stop in Australia because I can't leave without saying goodbye to my family and the home we shared. Through all the stress and trauma of covid lockdowns, I became as close as siblings with my housemates and fellow staff. Plus the owner, Matt, was always there for all of us with emotional support, personal advice, career insight, and more. And once lockdowns ended and I set off on solo travel again, I continued meeting up with Landing Pads people all over the country to do farm work, road trips, and days out together. Even when I returned to a house full of new people post-covid, the culture was still so lovely and welcoming that I made tons of new friends in just one week. (Because it's a small hostel and there's a minimum stay of 7 nights, everyone actually puts the time and effort into getting to know each other.) Whether we were holding in-house costume parties, going on group camping/road trips, cooking and enjoying our weekly (free) Family Dinner, hanging out at one of the many walking-distance Brunswick bars, or simply sitting around the lounge and watching movies together - I will treasure these people and these memories for the rest of my life. My Australia experience wouldn't have been nearly as fulfilling and special without Landing Pads, and I am so incredibly grateful to Matt and all my housemates for creating such a beautiful place in the world. I would highly highly recommend Landing Pads to anyone who wants a unique hostel experience and environment - not just constant drinking and shallow conversation. You'll meet some of the most amazing people and see a side of Melbourne/Australia that most backpackers don't get. Just don't expect to leave without shedding a few tears!

Fantastic hostel, can't recommend it highly enough. The facilities are very well thought out. It has a home away from home feel and people are friendly and welcoming. Staff are wonderful, spaces are clean, and there's always events going on.

This place felt like home and being surrounded by a family. I'm so glad I found them just after the lockdown. Be careful cause you might never want to leave this place 😁 Matt the owner is so kind and always ready to help ,the volunteers were amazing. There is always something planned to go out together or chill at the house with a movie or any other social activity The family dinner on Wednesday night is a great idea to meet everyone and socialize I met real friends and great people there and it is one of my best travel memory All the best LP I'll come back for sure 😊🌞

I don't know where to start. This place is the most amazing hostel I've been to in the world. There is such a good energy in the hostel. The owner matt knows exactly what he's doing. I wanted to stay for 5 days and moved to a house later on. But came back after a month because i missed it. I stayed for around 8 months. We've been to a couple of lockdowns. Matt arranged everything super well around covid safety. Thank you so much matt. This experience I will never forget I highly recommend people to stay in this hostel.

I was going through a really rough stage throughout covid and ever since I arrived to this hostel I felt so welcome and happy. I only spent a few days here but it was a truly an amazing hostel with such friendly staff. I highly recommend Landing Pads Brunswick to anyone as you won't regret it.

I lived in this hostel for over a month and it felt me like be at home from many points of view. Basically the hostel is a big and comfortable share house where all the spaces are very useful and practical. There are also more than one outdoor spaces if you love spend your time outside and enjoy the fresh morning air or the warm sunset sun. Another of many advantages of this place is undoubtedly the location in one of the coolest suburbs of melbourne just two steps from Sydney road where you can find everything you need. But the strong point of this place is the staff because they are always available for all your needs and in addition to be beautiful people with whom you can honestly compare yourself, all of them are also great beer- pong mates. I literally loved this place so I want to recommend it to everyone. If you are in Melbourne and if you want to enjoy your time in the better way you absolutely have to stop at Lading Pads !

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hostel for almost 4 months! It became our home for our time in Melbourne. The hostel was great and really felt more like a sharehouse than a hostel which is a big reason why we stayed at long as we did! They clean the hostel every day so it is always very clean, the kitchen, bathrooms, showers etc. The kitchen had all you needed and felt like an apartment because sometimes you were lucky and had it to yourself! They have two stove tops, an oven, toaster, microwave, blender, kettle, fridge, freezer! They always had events going on with movie night Monday and Family dinner on Wednesdays which was always nice to join in on when you're around! The location is right near the tram which makes it easy to go to the CBD about a half hour tram journey. It's right around the corner from Dejour jeans which is must stop! The gym hammer house was a couple blocks down on Sydney road which was great for backpackers. Overall had a great stay and met some really friendly people! Would definitely recommend. I do have to note they clean the kitchen in the mornings so they close it so check what time it is every morning and just be sure to avoid it during those times. As well, as a suggestion the showerhead upstairs in one of the bathrooms works but it could be upgraded!

This has definitely been the best hostel I've ever stayed in and has made my Australian experience so worth it. This is my first time travelling so far from home solo and the progressive culture in Landing Pads makes it so easy to make friends. It has the feel of a share house rather than a hostel as you have to stay for at least a week, meaning that people put a concentrated effort to get to know one another. The kitchen, lounge and outdoor areas are cozy and the dorms are comfy; there's female-only rooms if you prefer and all bottom bunks have a privacy curtain and reading light which is a nice homely touch. On top of that, the hostel is located in a great location in swanky Brunswick, conveniently near many cool bars and cafes. The owner Matt and house captain Ezra both clearly care about the place and I am impressed with how they have gone out of their way to make it feel like a home. There's weekly activities for everyone to take part in; whether it's parties, weekly cook up, film night or arts and crafts there's something for everyone and the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. On a personal note, from these efforts I feel as though I have achieved what I set out to achieve from travelling Aus itself - I have grown as a person, felt accepted for my eccentric self and met some beautiful souls. Landing Pads will always hold a special place in my heart for helping me grow and I am very sad to leave but also feel emboldened to smash the next chapter of my adventure. Thank you so much LP! xxx
