First time trying gold class and it was such an awful experience The seats were dirty and contained crumbs The staff were slow to bring out food & mixed up our order The menu is basically chips, potatoes or corn chips. It’s so dull and way too over priced. We ordered the mini beef sliders - beef was disgusting quality, tasted so cheap, flavour less & fatty Overal, you’re better off paying regular price & not sit gold!

***DO NOT GO TO THESE CINEMAS*** Consider this a warning! Here's some reasons why. SEATS ARE STANDARD AND DO NOT RECLINE SEATS AND FLOOR DIRTY. POPCORN STALE SEATS BROKEN AND FRAYED UNDER STAFFED STAFF THERE HATE THEIR JOB PLACE LOOKS TIRED OVERPRICED Basically if I could give negative stars it'll be negative 10. The movie we watched was pretty good and the company was good but overall cinema experience was -10 /10 it's that bad.

The worst cinema experience I’ve ever had. Gold class seats frayed and filthy looking with a leg rest that wobbles and seat that was incredibly uncomfortable to sit on. No caramel popcorn on a Sunday , the cinema generally in appalling dirty condition and general toilets were something out of a nightmare. Staff in candy bar have no clue about pricing of items and zero cheer or hospitality. Gold class bar staff however were more switched on and toilets much cleaner. The cinema and Event cinemas in general seem to be suffering from severe shortage of staff both in quantity and quality. Definitely never coming back here again.

There are many screens and nice sound quality. The seats are not recliners which is annoying and sometimes it's way too uncomfortable. The seat/row lights are a little too bright and thus ruins the experience of the movie as it stays on with the same brightness throughout the movie.

If you want to watch a movie in peace then don't go to this cinema. It's extremely dirty. In fact, last time I went there, I couldn't sit on my seat because the whole row was filled with rubbish. Chairs are also uncomfortable. Other than that, every single time I went there, no matter the genre, there were people talking the entire time. It's not a classy cinema at all. It's for people who can't stay quiet for a few minutes, put their feet on the armchairs on their front row, leaving their trash on the floor as if there's no bin there etc. Also, I don't know if they check the age limit or not because I saw a couple bringing their 2 kids (both looked less than 5) to a horror movie that finished at 11:45pm! I was speechless!

In cinema 2 today, the screen had a large dirty mark on it. There were teenagers that were very loud throughout the film and no one came to do a check, other people started yelling at them to be quiet multiple times. The power went out and the movie stopped for about 15/20mins.. the toilets were filthy.

Most cinemas are pretty standard, this one was definitely below average. My seat was broken (the back part wouldn't stay upright), the screen had a large mark right in the middle of it, and the toilets smelt terrible. So many other cinemas around to choose from, we won't be back

Purchased a ticket in advance here and attempted to cancel the ticket a month ahead, their own page provides a contact form to request a refund, but what they respond is that according to terms and conditions, they do not provide refunds or switches generally. This is a hidden fact and the buyer is not informed of this during the purchase process. Please be careful when pre-ordering from here.

Toilets were disgusting, share table in cinema (gold class) had a small amount, but rubbish on it. The popcorn had pepper in it and traces of biscuit.... for $45 a ticket quite terrible. Previously, ordered food. It was cold. Again in gold class. So lesson learned.

Surprised, but not really surprised after reading other reviewers mentioning the urine smell. I went with my 72 year-old mum for Avatar 2 in Cinema 2 on the top floor and the first thing we both agreed on when we got into our seats was "Is that urine we both smell?". My mum happened to visit the ladies toilet and mentioned one of the stalls had no door. Other reviewers already mention this. I'm sad to see these negative reviews that are more than 3 years old with Event Cinemas representatives replying to those reviews but the problem persists in 2023. Tickets aren't exactly cheap, so it's not as if this is a budget cinema. Overall, not a great experience based on which I can recommend Event Cinemas to friends and family.

Don’t bother with Gold Class unless it’s in the evening. They don’t open up the perks of gold class during the daytime sessions (We attended a lunch movie). We even had to stumble around in the dark to find our cinema. No lights, coffees, treats or food. I don’t feel the seats are worth the gold class price.

I was tired of watching a movie on plain screen everytime but things changes after watching movie in 4Dx . I literally feel the scene moving right in front of my eye. Effect of movement, water vapour and smell all are to the point. Literally you can feel the movie. I don't recommend to take drinks while watching 4DX.

The seat that I was provided was broken, bent all the way forward. I didn't ask the staff for another seat as there were two empty seats next to me. One of them was dirty and smeared with food materials, which was visible in the dark, so no way the cleaning staff would've missed it, unless the service was dodgy. The hall was smelly. Liberal use of air freshener would've appreciated. The seat numbers were not visible in the dark so you have to count them. The toilets were not very clean. The corridor was littered as well. The carpet's color was changed and looked like it hasn't been cleaned for years. Overall, there was nothing to appreciate, there was nothing which made the experience comfortable and happy apart from the movie, to which the event cinemas had nothing to do! I'd not come back to this cinema hall if have other options.

We went to see Elvis and something happened that I haven't seen in along time. It may have been an unusual audience but at the end of the movie, everyone sat still and in silence as the film credits rolled listening to Elvis Presley sing one last song. There is so much choice on TV and streaming that it is easy to overlook the the total immersion of the big screen and sound in modern theatre.

In Parramatta CBD Westfield mall. Convenient location. Aaccess to transport and food court. Just cleanliness is an issue when you go to normal screen and not the gold or above.

Awful Cinema. Every time I go I have to deal with babbling teenagers and crying children. I have to keep relocating myself in the cinema to find somewhere quiet. Also going up two floors is somewhat annoying. The old Village cinema was better. More quiet and accessible. Sad to think there used to be 3 cinemas in parramatta....and now this is the only one left ?

I find that people in Parramatta, don't know proper cinima etiquette. They keep using their phones. Don't know they have to sit in the seat they reserved, so they don't have to get up when others arrive and have to move during the movie. There's too many external distractions that take away from the experience.

The facilities are in dire need of upgrade and repairs. If the management is operating on minimal staff numbers, they are achieving the objective. I saw three staff in the entire time. The toilets were sub standard, no toilet paper in the disable toilet. There were six of us for the 4DX at $33 a ticket which I thought was not value for money. I will not be going to any Event Cinemas in a hurry!

They have really average cinemas over there. They're usually dirty and extremely crouded. The experience can be improved if people generally can keep the place cleaner and avoid creating mess. Moreover, the staff can also do a bit more on cleaning the cinemas. They have parking in the mall.

Watched a movie in 4DX. Best movie experience till date. Other services by the cinema were great as well. Prices were a bit high though. Theaters need to be cleaned properly though. Popcorn still stuck in the seats. Also the rugs need a good clean up, looked like it was easy overdue.

This place hasn't just gone down hill, it's fallen off a cliff. Dirty marked screens, broken chairs, filthy bathrooms. Don't get me started on the obnoxious patrons talking, yelling and answeing phones in the movie. I have heard less talking at a pub. And good luck with assigned seating, usually have to have an argument with someone who is in your seat. Bought your tickets online, sorry machine is broken, still have to line up.

Don't come here. We've been three times and all times disappointing. The hallways and cinema smells like urine, and checking out the other reviews it seems this has been a problem for a long time! The seats are always too upright, and theres no cup holders anywhere for your drink which is bizarre. We booked the 'couples seat' which has no armrest in the middle, but one seat was stock upright and the other was reclining nearly all the way back because it was broken. We went last night and both mine and my partners popcorn tubs had long hairs in them! Honestly, this place is just gross.

Great staff and i go to standard cinemas although this time the female and disabled toilets were not working all the walls were ripped of woth no flushers wires were exposed but when telling the staff they gave me 2 tickets for free entry into a movie to compensate and were very apologetic as they are getting them fixed. Otherwise its a great place to go to food is expensive but its a treat anyway.

  • 1/5 CrispyBiscuit 2 years ago on Google
The cinema is a dump. It is in need of a serious refurbishment. The carpet is gross and looks like it's covered in dirt and god knows what else. Food is littered everywhere. Popcorn tastes stale. So much lost potential as well with the bar upstairs that I've never seen used. Although I haven't been in a while so they probably got rid of it. Gold Class is a joke too. Not worth the extra cost. Go somewhere else to experience actual Gold Class. They should just shut it down.

The staff, including the managers, are all lovely and very helpful. Unfortunately the cinema seems to be so busy all the time with very few staff members. This leads to the very long queues as well as the cinema being incredibly filthy, for lack of routine cleaning. Everytime I have been there the carpet has been sticky, there was popcorn and other rubbish everywhere all over the floor, the seats, and within the seams of the seats. The layout of the complex is very confusing. There are multiple floors, and multiple ways to get to each floor. The popcorn is usually standard popcorn, tasting just fine. Perhaps I was just unlucky, but my box of popcorn was almost entirely filled with either burnt or unpopped kernels. The manager very easily swapped it out for a fresh box with no hassle. This only happened once throughout my several visits. The cinemas themselves are spacious. The seats are standard event cinema seats, so they're a lot smaller than hoyts seats, and unlike hoyts offer no table area to place food or drinks and they don't recline in any way. Although you do get a cup tray. Other patrons are often loud and constantly talkative. Nobody comes in to check on the film and patrons to ensure everyone is quiet like other cinema complexes, even other Event cinema complexes. During the last King Kong movie someone brought in a large family of children ranging from babies to 8 year olds. They all ran around the cinema halfway through the movie and wouldn't stop. They were very loud. Asking them to stop or to be quiet got nobody anywhere. Not to mention the fact that little children shouldn't be seeing such a violent film as King Kong.

I watched ghostbuster afterlife on 4DX, when we get there exact 5.40,the theater inside is so dirty, pop corn everywhere, and there's an unused rubbish bag laying nearby the entrance. There's no one cleaning the place before the next show. When i sat on my seat, i accidentally sat on pieces of Popcorn!!. In this pandemic situation, you guys should care more about hygiene!

First time here, took the family to see an afternoon movie. Was very clean and professional. Only down side, need some sort of trays or bags to carry stuff into the cinemas. It really helps when you've got little kids and other stuff to hold. Also prepare to spend, we ordered our tickets online using the app. You get real time display for seats and time slots, only problem with the there's also a booking fee they attach to your order.

Great service and honorable staff. I lost my wallet at Thursday and ask for help at Friday if cinema staff had picked. They had found it and keep it in safety place. Then hand over to me with nothing lost, thank God, thanks to cinema staff in parramatta event cinema.

Repeating the phrase "customer service" on recorded messages does not equate to customer service... "Please go to our website and enter a customer service request and a customer service representative will call you." WHEN? Why can't you just answer the phone? Top tip Event Cinemas... if you refuse to engage directly with your customers, you better make sure everything they want is available on your website. Spoiler... it's not.

The staff have been super helpful. I had an online glitch buying tickets and the staff couldn't do enough to help. The seats are comfortable and sound and visually great. Have been super great with all the COVID restrictions in place.

I had a great experience as a member in Gold Class, it was only $19 at 12.30pm so I bought a delicious espresso martini to have during the film. The seats are really comfy as the back and legs recline separately. I had the cinema to myself.

The only reason for watching movies here not any other good options nearby. Have been watching movies here since 2019. The picture quality is sometimes ok but other than that everything is 3rd Class. Sound most of the times is too low and seats are as bad as they can be. Not only there is no recliners but a lot of times I have to sit upright because the seats are damaged. They are charging similar fees as their other branches like Macquarie but here the facilities are nothing compared to them. Overall a very bad experience. Waiting for a major overhaul.

Staff were inconsiderate about the small issue that who was complaining about us and only just one person in front of us said we were shouting in the song, that we came here for just for a song and the manager he was asking us to leave or call police straight way, as we read the terms and conditions that there is still we can watch the movie as being normal as them and no consideration about that they were distributing us not able to being enjoy as they are and we asked us for our refund if they refund our money we would happy to leave, The manager Haden (as he said his name) was totally being rude with us. No indication of shouting zone, no hearing about other side even they are right and he has no idea what is cinema for, Thanks that we didn’t get refund and not able to watch movie in 25 minutes of minutes of time. And would like to request cinema to categorise the cinemas as we able to enjoy everyone. Thanks

Watched a 4DX movie, the movie was great but the theatre was dirty and disgusting. Popcorn was everywhere, despite us all seeing 2 workers exit the theatre with a full garbage bag. The theatre has tiny bugs flying around inside, probably because it's always damp in that room. What sucked is that they allowed very young children to enter the theatre, whom of which were noisy and cried throughout due to either boredom or needing to use the bathroom. This was incredibly annoying.

  • 1/5 Deepak Suresh V. 1 year ago on Google
The theatre is poorly maintained. The seats are filthy and some of them are uncomfortable. Some of the screens stink and it can be suffocating to sit through a whole movie. The sound system is average. It’s better to watch the movie at home than spend money to watch it here.

Customer service from staff is okay so I'll give 2 stars but the location is absolute filth. The location is most convenient for me but this is probably the last time I come to Parramatta Event cinemas. Every time I have come, it has been dirty with popcorn all over the floor on the way to the cinema theatre and bad signage. I don't completely blame the staff because I understand the crowd is horrible as well. After watching spiderverse, I saw popcorn, drinks and rubbish all over the floor from customers who have no sense of what neatness is and felt sorry for workers. There were also 3 marks on the screen from some kind of dirt that made the movie quite annoying to watch. Definitely the worst location I have been to.

  • 2/5 Apryle T. 10 months ago on Google
While we were watching the new spider-man movie... the lights were still on, through out the entire movie..? Is that normal? Because I've never seen it before... Also the cinema sound was very quiet, we could hear the cinema next to us even in the loud parts of the movie... The sound and lighting ruined the cinema experience :( I've been to a cheap cinema with better cinematic sound and proper lighting...πŸ’€ Proof of lighting throught the movie below. The movie was still pretty cool. AND COMPLIMENTARY COLLECTABLE TICKETS??? Thats why you get 2 stars -3-

I loved 4DX experience here and their gold class was amazing. My always favourite place

  • 5/5 Pamela S. 1 year ago on Google
4dx was a totally different experience and was quite good. I did find that the movement was slightly unnecessary for certain parts of the movie that we watched, but it would suit quite an action-packed movie. The wind, rain, and snow, as well as some flying movements, worked well! Kids enjoyed it

I'd just like to say I recommend the movie Transformers Rise of The Beasts - Great! However that's where my praise ends. We were in Vmax 1 at Event Parramatta, they do not have leather seats. Tired, old, ripped and hard as anything red seats. Looks like the place has never been deep cleaned or renovated in years. I suggest if you go there for convenience as we did, you get the cheapest ticket you can - Telstra rewards, cheap Tuesday. Not worth full price, really affected my experience. I hope this review helps people.

It's what you would expect from a cinema experience, been back many times. The only issue I have is the the lines are sometimes too long and there needs to be a better way of managing these. I've seen blind people be lost and confused because of the line. If the lines were organised and managed efficiently, it would be a better experience for all concerned.

I've just been to see Sonic the hedgehog in cinema 2 at parramatta and I actually feel violated. I haven't been to this cinema since seeing Dr strange, where I was distracted by the huge 'splat' marks on the screen. but a significant amount of time had passed, so I decided to give it another go. Not only was the screen distractingly disgusting yet again, with huge smear marks all over the screen, the seats and floor were sticky, mildewy and stinky. A truly horrid experience

Bought tickets online for a gold class showing, they cancelled a few hours before the movie was due to show, citing 'scheduling issues' - they almost certainly just hadn't sold enough tickets and decided not to honour the sales they had made. Very unprofessional.
