Great produce, many shops and stalls, parking close by, and busy, busy, busy. Good entertainment was also there and a great fish market, meat, fruit and vegetables, spices and nuts. The toilets were clean and large. There is underground parking with ramps leading up to the shopping area. I particularly liked the flower and plant shops and even though I am not able to get home for a week I still bought plants to take home. Worth the visit. I've gone back after seven months and it is still a great market. Great food and fresh fruit and vegetables and unusual products.

Dandenong Market is a good market if you are looking for Fruit and Vegetables, the Meat selection is also good but there is a lot lacking in comparison to other places.. there is hardly any Cheese at Dandenong Market and the tiny selection that one shop had was charging a lot more than any other Market, Dandenong Market also lacks Deli goods, theres nowhere that sells Jerky or jarred Olives or Peppers.. If you are looking for Middle Eastern ingredients or Spices then you should be fine, but Dandenong Market just feels like its missing essential items a Market in Australia should have... There's no Jam Spreads, no Smoked Sausages like Chorizo or Salami. In my honest opinion Dandenong Market just isn't good enough.

Dande market has an amazing selection of fruits and vegetables at an excellent price. Dandenong market is massive and has a big variety of fruits, from tropical to day to day for an excellent price. Just beware of mould, as the cheap fruits may have moulded or been damaged. The food court in Dandenong market is good with a decent selection of cuisines. Next to the food court lies the bazaar with many stores selling a great range of goods from toys to shoes. You should definitely check out Dandenong market as you are sure to have a great experience. There is a misconception with Dandenong market, where people think it’s dangerous. It is not at all! Just watch out for the train station at night! Hope this helps :)

Nothing beats the vibe and variety of Dandenong Market. Usually the prices and quality are unbeatable too. Come here on a Sunday and make a day of it with the free parking – do a food truck crawl; pick up some excellent meat, seafood and cheese; then get your fresh fruit and veg.

My new favourite hangout spot on weekends. My top 3 spots to checkout here are Kabul Kitchen (the $5 bulani in my opinion is the best thing in this market), Dandee Donuts (for the Nutella donuts) and Peanut Market. There is so much on offer here and there’s a genuine community vibe, not just a hotspot for tourists.

Affordable market located in the heart of the South East Suburbs. I have been coming here for over 20 years and while it has changed so much, the layout has remained much the same! The fresh produce is astounding and the vendors are welcoming and will always go out of their way to help you. Prices vary but they are much cheaper than your local supermarkets if you know where to look!

Always walk away from a market day so happy. Our family are big on fruits & veg so we are chuffed with our haul every chance go to the Dandenong Market. We can pretty much find everything we need under one roof including Lebanese bread & pizzas, seafood, butcher, Indian & Asian grocer and so much more. The cooked food options here are also delicious! The all time favourite is gozleme from Dough Works. It gets wildly busy so you have to keep a close eye on your order and don't forget to follow-up if it's taking too long. Lastly the market stalls also offer good buys including phone accessories, socks, soap, tracksuits and all sorts of other clothing. Pro tip: Go as early as possible for best parking and less crowds makes for a more relaxing shopping experience. Bring a trolley/cart to wheel around all your goodies.

After many years I still love to come here every time. Great vibe and great choices for food. I love the Sri Lankan spot in the food court (good vegan options). The fruit and veggie market is one of the cheapest and freshest around.

Great old fashioned market. These places are great to look for hidden food gems or entertainment. I found a Deli Shop which is a sandwich that looks insanely delicious and simple and it is HUGE, they are called New Yorker.

Dandenong Market is one of the best place for fruit and vegetables purchase. However, it offers great events for families. Photos from an event in Jan 2024.

I like this market so much. For traditional market, Dandenong market so clean and tidy. The price there more cheaper than when you buy in modern market. They almost have everything there. You can also find ready meals here and beverages.

I love going to Dandenong Market. There is one at the very top end they just opened up. They have the freshest seafood and a large variety of fishes to choose from. It's also lot cheaper than any other fish markets in Melbourne.

First time I have been to the market. I really liked it! So many international food stalls!! 😋 We ate at Cafe Valentina's which is a south american cafe. We had absolutely delicious food, cheese Empanada, coffee and desert. Would highly recommend! Fruit and vegetables really well priced in the market too. Flowers so cheap and such great quality!

A great market to visit while visiting friends. A great market with everything you need - meat, fish, fruit, veg, flowers, lunch, goodies & so much more. My children lived exploring all it had to offer. We had lunch at little Asia which was delicious, followed by donuts at OMG & dinner fresh produce to go home with 👌🏽

You have to try this place at least once. Let me tell you. I didn't even spend $20 for a big bag full of different fresh veggies and fruits. If you have been here, you will understand if I tell you I can't forget this song, "All mangoes are dollar 5 EA EA Ou" 🤣

Dandenong Market Visited on 29/5/2023 Although I had visited the food market and other clothing / souvenir sections and many times, I had never reviewed it in writing. Today 's review is based on food market section. The food market is roughly divided three parts. One part is just for fresh vegetables and fruit; the second is meat, fish, bakery products, spices, nuts, deli and even a Tatts store. The present layout is well defined, and generally no nore than two vendors sell the same products or produce, except the green grocers. Pricewise it is cheaper than a number of other market, quality is comparable, but not as good as some supermarkets. The third is for food vendors, and florists.

This is a cultural, societal and humanity experience - and that’s before you get to the fruit and veg! Go. Will be half the cost of the Prahran Market and you get a seriously genuine experience 16 mangoes for $10 6 kilos of carrots for $6 sums it up. Oh and talk about kebabs, cash only. I’m card only. 6 months ago ordered one and the guy shouted me one as I didn’t have cash. Went back 6 months later to pay him and he didn’t take the money, just gave me another kebab. Wish there was six stars on google.

Been visiting Dandy Market on and off for many years now. Busy at most times with plenty of shops selling all sorts. Meat, seafood and greens a plenty too at a fairly reasonable price. These days, one can get lots of good food experience here too. Definitely good for the foodies. Always manage to find a bargain here and shop keepers are fairly nice and reasonable. All in all, good place to spend a weekend.

It’s a great variety of specials and money saving if you are close. Especially seafood for great prices! There is so much hear with so many vendors looking to grab your business. I was referred here by a friend due to the farming produce(fruit and veg), meat selections and the prices for both. The market, was not only cheaper than the local supermarket both in veggies and meat; the customer service was outstanding. Please note there are many cheap clothes/shoe stores, mobile accessories stores, etc. amongst so many other stores, you could easily loose a couple of hours shopping here with delight! The two negatives are- 1. that there is a price minimum for certain stores when it comes to eftpos/cc transactions. However, if you find a select butcher or grocer this shouldn’t be a problem; but would be good to have at least $40-$70 dollars cash if you want to grab little bits and pieces from many vendors. You might need more if shopping for most other things - but you could score a good deal as-well. 2. is that there is only one poultry butcher, and while the chicken is good - they are massively expensive considering your local supermarket - I wouldn’t recommend shopping for chicken here. P.S. - there is a great little ethic food court to indulge in many tastes from around the world - doesn’t have everything but there is a good selection of vendors. Overall, this is a great shopping place, to spend a couple of hours between a good lunch. Highly recommend!

Such a nice place to go for fruits and vegetables, everything under the same roof. Has got a variety of Australian and international fruits and vegetables at a convenient price. Place is huge and you can walk around on reasonably wide alleys between shop isles. Gets busy on Saturday morning, so you have to be an early bird to find a parking spot for your car.

A lovely marketplace for a variety of fresh food and clothing that caters to the South East Corridor of Melbourne . Very reasonably priced, particularly if buying in bulk interests you. A good stop over for lunch if none of the above interests you. Sadly, no alcohol disinfectant was available in any of the disposable containers, especially at the eat out location.

Dandy Market is a great place to get your fresh fruit, vegetables and meat. It also has a wide variety of other stalls selling a wide and varied quantity of goods from small businesses. It's very clean and has a great food court especially the donuts...

Being a market seller myself I always have to stop in and check out another market, I just can't help it. It was a good size market with a mix of everything for sale. Saw plenty of gadget sellers (for mobile phones, electrical goods and that sort of thing), a few toy sellers, plenty of clothing for sale and even a fortune teller. That lot took up about a third of the market (entering from the front entrance) the other third is a large fresh food and groceries section with a food court wedged in between. I didn't use toilet facilities so can't say if they had any or the condition they were in. The plus side was that there was plenty of parking with a majority seeming to be undercover (I found a spot outside). Now I have a local market within Melbourne with which to compare the other markets next time I'm in the area

Loved it. Has a bit of everything you'd want from a market. The fresh food (fruit, veg, meat) is completely over and above what you'll get at the super market both in terms of quality and price. The atmosphere is eclectic but feels family friendly. Parking is dirt cheap. Hint: try and get there early from both an availability of parking and lesser crowds perspective.

I Love this market!!! Such an awesome selection of multicultural places to graze, enjoy coming here for a bite to eat. The vibe is lively and there is a great variety of stalls too. The place is well maintained and the bathrooms are always super clean. Thanks Dandenong market for being such a fab place to visit :-)

*Parking is easy, huge and free. So don't worry about it. *There is ATM if you forget to bring cash, but it costs you $2.50 to draw. So bring cash with you. *Fruit especially grapes, super cheap! Compare to other market even VIC Market or Preston. Also many variances of grapes. *Veggies so so. Not too many shop, but they sell prety good stuffs just not too many choices. *Seafood, if you are seafood lover, Preston is still better. Some of points above may not be valid when you visit. I visited the market in April.

Fresh fruits and veggies priced reasonable. Bulk quantities available. Market sells fresh flowers and plants as well. Quite a long spread and colorful. Serves delicious food as well. Dough works serves amazing Chicken Mushroom Feta Gozleme. Hot jam donuts and coffee from Froth is wow. Unlimited shopping spree. Indian clothes at Bella Maria to variety of rugs and linens. One stop shop for a weekend chores activity. It's also kids friendly. Can take pram for babies and kids.

Lots of great stalls selling everything, cloths shoes etc, also the fruit and veggie section. Reasonable prices and cheep prices. Spent about 1.5 hours but didn't get to see it all, will need to go back again. Well worth a visit.

The market is reasonably crowded and has great vendors in terms of welcoming behaviour. Trolley to shop may not be available and it is expected that we get our own trolleys. There is an open aquarium to purchase pet fishes! Parking spaces are ample in availability and it is strongly recommended to carry own shopping trolley/bags for purchasing groceries.

Froth Melbourne Coffee Coffee and hot chocolate is good. The complimentary cookie that came with our hot drinks were unexpectedly delicious. Will definitely get my coffee fix from this stall again. Cash only payment.

We got fresh and cheap fruits& vegetables for our Children's lunch also 4 different kind of seafood for our Sunday lunch. Family of 8. Market is affordable and good if you have a big family. Take a trolley basket or something to put your shopping in or you'll be holding too many bags around, kinda heavy 😊
