Genghiscon was held at St George's College in January 2019, and we booked accommodation there for that. We were assigned a room in the Warden section, and found it very pleasant, despite housekeeping having missed the previous residents leaving some perishables in the cupboard. The windows open onto a view of UWA and the river, with vines attempting leafy green entry. This is on of the oldest buildings in the state, so don't expect polished newness. Do expect space, beautiful surroundings, including a lovely grassed courtyard, stained glass and wood. I recommend the meals, Sunday dinner is not to be missed and they are well aware of dietary requirements, a tough ask for a coeliac but they did really well and there was a lot of variety. The peach, mint and quinoa salad was a delight with the beef ribs!

Christmas in the Quad. A sensational demonstration on WAs finest musical talent. With a little festive flair for the season.

I've been past this place a number of times but never stopped for a look.. It looks a little like a castle, apparently it was modelled off Eton College in England. From what I understand the whole place is accommodation for university students. Theres also a chapel on the grounds.. One person I met said he was a resident here years ago when he studied engineering, and was later married in the chapel.. I didn't look around that much as it's accommodation and I thought I'd better not go nosing around too much, I might come back another time and see if I can get permission to do so. I bet its a wonderful place to stay though, especially if you're a Harry Potter fan - it has a bit of a Hogwarts feel about it.. (Well it does to me)
