I found the staff of this company to be most helpful in identifying two unknown gem stones for me. They also effectively buffed and polished a damaged opal that I had bought elsewhere. They were very efficient, very knowledgeable, very helpful and their price was very reasonable. In addition, they have a huge range of jewellery to choose from and I purchased a pair of solid opal earrings from them for a very reasonable price.

Very helpful family business. Greg cut and polished my Opal from stone and weighed and valued it for me. He was friendly, attentive and I am thrilled with the beautiful result. What an absolute “gem” of a place… (pun intended) - an amazing collection of stones in all stages of processing. Reasonable pricing. Great for children to see and so much creativity on display (especially the cutters workshop) for all to see. It is amazing to see a family business complete the full manufacturing process from mining, cut/polish and setting of the opals. Our experience with Matt was great as he really took the time to understand what we (my wife) were after and found the perfect gifts for her birthday. My wife found the products were all good quality and she has worked in the jewellery business for over 20 years. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality opals.

I went in over the weekend to see if I could get the opal changed out of my ring. I was amazed at the efficiency and how quick they could get it done for me. Between walking in and choosing an appropriate opal and getting the ring back it was 2hrs which was easy to fill up that time walking around hahndorf and the surrounds. On top of that I also got an amazing pair of earrings that match my ring. Thank you so much for your excellent service and my ring is perfect.

I am so grateful to Greg and the team at Australian opal company. I purchased an amazing Boulder opal from them a few years ago that I had made into a custom ring. Recently I accidentally chipped the opal, I contacted Greg to see if there was any way it could be repaired, he responded immediately and was so kind in offering to help me. I have just received my ring back and not only is the opal restored to its former beauty he has even polished all the other scratches out of the ring itself. Opal fell out about a week after purchase. High price for a low quality gold plated ring and with manufactured opals.

I ordered an 18cm white opal bracelet. It took a while to be made due to this stupid Covid and shortages, but arrived today. When I opened the box I was impressed, then I tried it on and wow it is stunning. Well done Australian Opal Company and thank you Matt for all your help.
