I came here on my birthday on 5/26. We have a lovely view of the city, the couches we sat at were comfortable, and we ate the best salmon ever! I have eaten a lot of salmon at other restaurants, and this place has the best salmon hands down! It was juicy, flavorful, and not dry! They gave me a free dessert for my birthday with a candle on it. The staff was very friendly and checked on us often to make sure we were enjoying our food.

Friendly and polite staffs. Our waiter Joseph is so attentive and nice. Wonderful foods, drinks, and desserts. Highly recommend this place 10/10!!!!!!!

We had an amazing night at Monterey Bay Fish Grotto! The service from John was top notch and the food blew us away. Truly the best crab cakes we ever had! We tried the angel food cake grilled cheese, and while we expected it to be good, we were blown away just by how amazing it was! We had a very nice and romantic night and I can't wait to come back!

This is THE spot for any special occasion (or for an elegant meal). The service here is amazing from start to finish, the chef even came out to speak with us! Any dish you get here will be good. (Sides are ordered separately) They’re known for their crab cakes and I ALWAYS get the angel cake grilled cheese for dessert! It’s a must. The elevator ride to the restaurant is also a fun part of the experience.

If you live in Pittsburgh or are visiting you need to make a reservation and enjoy this spectacular venue! The views! Some of if not the best view of this special city. One of the best steaks I've ever had in my travels. I'm not exaggerating either.. Exquisite is the word that comes to mind. What a wonderful experience, food, staff and atmosphere. It's hard to know where to start, the food is extraordinary and delicious, the views are breathtaking, and to top it all off they host. Live music weekly! Cannot say enough good things about this wonderful establishment. From the glass elevator ride to the non-stop views from the top, Monterey Bay Fish Grotto has it all! I highly recommend it for a special occasion or just to treat yourself. I had the crab cakes which rivaled any you'd get along the coast! Generous side servings of asparagus and lyonnaise potatoes. Appreciated the non-alcoholic drinks on the menu as well.

Quite simply, one of the top restaurants in The United States. Seafood trio (skewer, crab cake, and shrimp), She-crab bisque, grouper, parmesan crusted swordfish with a lemon cream sauce, and roasted heirloom carrots. To top it off is a Pittsburgh angel food cake grilled cheese: the best dessert I’ve ever had. Service, management, and hospitality all top notch!!! This really felt like a magical experience ❤️❤️

One of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh. Excellent food, seafood options are the best including the tuna and crabcakes. Views are surreal. Lounge is also awesome which is first come first serve with access to main menu. Service is great. Highest recommendation

We had one night in Pittsburgh and chose this restaurant after Altius was closed due to an accident. Couldn't have been happy with our choice - this place is the best! The views are amazing and the restaurant is split over several levels so if you request a window table you're quite likely to be in luck. Interesting menu and everything we had was delicious and very well cooked. Great staff too. Perfect place for a special evening.

Beautiful restaurant experience, the views from here are amazing. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly. They also had a small menu book and gift bag for the kids which was so cute. I really love how they were intentional about preparing kids for an upscale dining experience. The food was prepared well & it was tasteful! I had a wonderful birthday dinner with my 2 little ones 💕

Definitely one of the better restaurants in Pittsburgh with 5 stars for the Ambiente and view across the city. The food was satisfying but dishes lacked some finesse and balancing of flavor by some acidity - both main dishes and desserts. The service was friendly but could have been a bit more attentive for a large party like ours. Favorite dishes included the crab cakes, the branzino and the swordfish. The tuna was good but the portion was gigantic and seemed to cover the actual quality of the fish. Would not recommend the Sea Bass, at least in my case it didn’t seem to be fully cooked and was a bit slimy inside. Would go again for a special occasion in Pittsburgh

If you're looking for a wedding/reception dinner venue, look no further!! Monterey Bay was SO accommodating to our requests/needs & helped so much setting the room up the day of. It was such a stress-free experience & the food was amazing. Could not have asked for a better day - thank you so much! ❤️

Crab cakes, scallops, and raw oysters were delicious. The roasted carrots were very flavorful and a nice vegetable touch. Dessert Recommendation: Angel Food Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Dine here for a special occasion as all items are a la carte and on the pricey side and to enjoy viewing Pittsburgh's specular cityscape.

Everything about this place is amazing. The food is just way too good and the drinks are strong. The swordfish was the best fish I've ever had and the views are amazing. Valet is cool but if you park you can walk right to the the overlook across the street. LOVE this place

It doesn't get much better than this! Special night for a birthday celebration and our server, Christopher, made us feel at home with his friendly hospitality and insights on the entrees, portions, and pairings. Everything from the espresso martini and wine selection, appetizers like calamari and prosciutto, and entress Ahi Tuna, Seafood Pasta, and Lobster were absolutely delish! And, the view! Wow! We will be back!

This place is 5 stars all around Ordered the Chilean Salmon with Chimichurri. It was great. Also tried the crab cakes. They were delicious. The calamari and bruschetta were also excellent. Their desserts were also delicious. My favorite was a small cake with berries. The views of the city and the river delta were beautiful and impressive. Definitely a place to take your spouse or loved one and enjoy.

Everybody very friendly! Just about a great view from every table! Of course nothing is like a window view! General Manager John and Chef Ed stopped out to visit us a few times to check on us and to see how our dinner is! The food is awesome! No complaints! Our waitress Molly did a fantastic job! She new her job and the menu very well! Make sure u try the dessert called Grilled Angel Food Cake! It's Fabulous!! Thank you! My wife and I had a wonderful dinner night out!

I attended a group function here and was delighted with everything to include the service by the staff. They had everything timed and coordinated so the food and drinks came out flawlessly. I picked the Tuna off the menu that was put together by the Organizer, since it was something I hadn't tried before, it was good but not really to my taste. I do however know people who I was with who loved it. The view was no something you can get from any other place in Pittsburgh. It was well worth the visit and I do see myself going back at some point.
