Great lighthouse tour which takes place every Wednesday starting at 13:30h! Very nice presentation and background information of the Farol de Aveiro 😀

Amazing! Barra's lighthouse is open every Wednesday afternoon. The view is awesome and you have a little tour/explanation on the Portuguese coast, lighthouse's history and after that you can climb, around 270 steps, and enjoy the view!

Closed. Difficult to get to without a car. 10€ Uber ride from Aveiro. Ghost town outside of summer. Poor/few choices of nearby eateries. Beach nearby extremely cold. Need wetsuit to bath. Recommend summer only.

It's a place that river meet to the Athletic ocean and a older light house of the Aveiro city one time you can see both the river and sea

The farol (lighthouse) is the biggest one I've ever seen. Construction began in 1879 and was completed in 1893. It was automated in 1990. Presently it is open to the public and visits are held on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 17:00. Great view of the beach, ocean, and break walls for memorable pictures.

Nice view, visit if you are nearby for some fotos, otherwise not much to do besides nearby surfing

Impressive lighthouse also from below. Queue was way too long to wait in the sun just after 2pm

I have a penchant for lighthouses and would go so far as to call myself a pharologist. This is by far one of the most spectacular lighthouses I have seen, not only by dimension but by its charm. It is a true beacon and inspiring structure helping to guide brave sailors home.

Nothing very special, it’s just a typical lighthouse. There is no need to go there specially if you’re not in the area. I special did not find the area nice but it’s my personal opinion.

This is a nice lighthouse. It was free admission and the tour guide was very nice. They are only open Wednesdays, but it's a nice walk to the top (288 steps) and the view is nice as well.

Beautiful lighthouse on gorgeous beach with nice long concrete pier. Also has lots of nice restaurants within walking distance and don't forget to grab a crepe.

Great lookout point. Take a towel and sit on the beach and contemplate the ocean. Worth a visit.

It was okay but it was closed and in the middle of the town. I expected it to be closer to the sea

I only got to see the lighthouse from the outside but it's an impressive structure.

👍👍 Best garden in Aveiro. Nice to do BBQ (has picnic area), play football, walk, cycle, run... May be windy and it's usually cold at night even in summer.
