A cool tower with a magnificent church and nice museum inside. Climbing up to the tower you can see the city with a 360 degree view. However, the information board is incorrect in stating that Taipei 101 is in China. It is In Taipei, Taiwan. 🇹🇼

This surely is a landmark in Porto and a must-see. Built between 1732 - 1750. The unique and impressive tower at the back of the church was built between 1754 and 1763. The tower is 75.6 metres high and there are 240 steps to be climbed to reach the top. And if you're lucky about timing, you can enjoy the nice bells ringing. A wonderful piece of art and architecture. Nice to take some pics - even though the angle is a tough one to get a really good pic. But as usual it's best to see with your own eyes and to enjoy the beauty of it. It's located on top of a hill. Nothing tough, but may be a bit difficult with wheelchair or stroller. The old town center of Porto can easily be done by foot. We just did the Rua Santa Catarina, Rua das Flores and then headed here. Makes a nice walk.

The famous church was built in the eighteenth century, between 1732 and 1749 and this was the most emblematic work of the architect Nicolau Nasoni.

Beautiful church, but the real draw is the tower. Amazing 360 views of Porto. The staircase up and down is very tight. Definitely not for the claustrophobic.

I'm not much one for churches as I'm not really religious. You can walk around the church and at the time we was there, it wasn't too busy. For anyone religious this part is a must see. What was breath taking was the view from the top. Although the walk up can take a little while due to the narrow stairs, when you are at the top you get a 360 degree view of the city. The top of the tower also gives you a bit of info on other attractions and where they are in relation to where you stand. Overall, very worth while for 5 euros.

(Translated by Google) Implanted in what remains of an old farm, currently limited to an area of 4 hectares, the Botanical Garden of Porto is organized in three levels with very different characteristics. On the first level, involving Casa Andresen, the formal gardens are developed, separated by tall hedges of centenary camellias. On the second level, there is the xerophytic plant garden with several cactus and succulent plants and where we can find the cactus greenhouse, the tropical greenhouse and the orchid greenhouse. Finally, at the lowest level, there is the arboretum, in which are the collections of conifers, native plants, the fetus and the largest lake in the Garden. The Botanical Garden of Porto today assumes importance for its botanical aspect, having a significant set of species both for its rarity and for its size, namely exotic species. It is also representative of the 19th century Porto recreational farms and is also a literary space. It is a place of reference in the life and work of the writers Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen and Ruben A. (Original) Implantado no que resta de uma antiga quinta, atualmente limitado a uma área de 4 hectares, o Jardim Botânico do Porto está organizado em três patamares com caraterísticas muito distintas.

I’m not one for going to see churches but this one is worth a quick peek. Baroque baroque baroque but intimate, and what makes it special is it’s in an Ellipse not your run of the mill rectangular shape. Now , as far as going up the tower get there early and when it’s cool the passage way up can get tight at times and claustrophobic but again here definitely worth the view once you’re up top

The Igreja dos Clerigos is worth a visit if just for the view. The adjoining church has some magnificent architectural detail and art, but truthfully we had a bit of church fatigue at this point in our trip, and without much description of what we were looking at, it was hard to differentiate this church from the many others we'd seen. The tower itself though has the most fantastic view of all of Porto which is worth the wait. Keep in mind the tickets are timed so you can't just show up and walk in. You either need to buy your ticket in advance or you have to wait.

Tower tour is a mess. There were too many people and it was difficult to move at some points. My family and I went up at 19:00 and it was full. We had to push behind people as they stood in the middle of the path looking at the view. I do not blame them though, as the view was fantastic. There can't be that many people on the tower at the same time. They should limit the amount.

This is a classic beautiful church. Unfortunately by 8 AM it is crowded with tourists. They’re not there to look at the church but rather take selfies. If you really wanna enjoy the church, get tickets in advance and enjoy them. Beautiful interior.

Beautiful church. Not a lot to see unless you pay €8 for the tower, museum, and behind the altar. We were exhausted from walking today and didn't pay to climb the tower. The review is for the church only.

The tower great way to see Porto from above. The church is really pretty and there is a small museum with Catholic art and relics before you attempt to climb the tower. The stairs are a little steep and the stairwell is narrow, so it might be difficult to climb up if you're a bigger person or someone who has a phobia of tight spaces but the view is lovely and worth the effort.

Lovely place to visit night and day. The tower: stairs are not wide so best to go when not busy. Lovely views from the top. We brought a dual ticket which worked out cheaper with the museum. The church at night has the light show which is very impressive and is 10 euros.

It was just about okay...only because it's about the only thing in Porto that costs nothing and is still a bit of a disappointment. The red house on the other hand has been looked after...when it should have been the garden where they spent the money. Go to a botanical gardens to see a botanical garden not a whale skeleton for 20 euros.

It’s a central landmark in the city - 5€ to go up to the tower and it gets very busy during the day, so I recommend either go during morning (as early as possible) or around lunch. It’s very beautiful and the tower has a good view over the city. Definitely one thing to do in Porto and also close to the HP library.

A very pleasant church. We visited on a Sunday and happened upon a concert and an exhibition. If you come across such a combination, it's worth to sit down and just lose yourself in beautiful music. There is a nice little shop at the back of the church. Unfortunately, we did not visit the tower.

I have 2 star because of very un organized system . I have been to several tower but this one is worst. Line to go up is terribly long like other, and they will take the opportunity to get money for the photo op. If your lucky before you even go around the tower it will take 45 mins you go around. ( you will be trap). They just let anybody to go up and down you will come across in a space of 70-80 cm not possible for 2 people (up/down) if your claustrophobic not ideal.i was standing 10 mins waiting to be out of the stairs as nobody manage people to moved. value for money 💰 is not up to the task. Waste of time .

Views from the top are superb. We got there early so had to wait a little. It was recommended we buy tickets in advance but upon arriving I don’t think that’s necessary. The main exhibition space was a little repetitive but the actual church was really nice to see. The exhibition on Kandinsky was a welcome surprise too. The walk to the top could be challenging for some, and there could be more organisation in letting people up and down as it’s a narrow space so you might have to wait to let people pass you.

(Translated by Google) The Botanical Garden is wonderful, well maintained, clean, with fantastic species, but I cannot give the maximum score because, being a very pleasant but very large place, it does not have a bench for us to sit on. Tiredness takes over the elderly and even more those who have mobility difficulties, as was our case. For me, this is a regrettable oversight! Those tree trunks on the ground would make excellent quality benches that would in no way take away the beauty of the place. Quite the opposite.

Porto’s Botanical Garden is a space where three dimensions converge: recreation, history and botanics. It is not a very big garden but it is full of old town charm. The house the property are now runned by the Faculty of Sciences (Porto University) but were formerly owned by the Christ Order and after that by João Salabert. Finally, it belonged to the Andresen family, who sold it to the State of Portugal in 1949. The botanic gardens are representative of the so loved recreational gardens of the 18th century in Porto. The historic relevance of the complex is also related to the Andresen family. The house was acquired by João Henrique Andresen, a Port wine merchant, who requalified the gardens to give its romantic aspect. His daughter – Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen – became one of the most prominent portuguese writers of the 20th century and her work is full of the memories of her childhood in this property.

Pretty church, but not worth the line or wait, despite having a good tower view. Since COVID, the number of patrons have been limited. There's a line to buy the ticket, wait for a time-slot, then come back and wait in the line. Once you enter, you go through the church and check out some exhibits, but honestly, most of them weren't that interesting. The church was pretty and had an organist playing while we were there. Then you walk and wait in another line to get up the (very tiny) steps to the tower and was quite crowded. You get a good view of the city, but that's pretty much it. It would be better to have a separate line and ticket just for the tower. Overall, if it's not crowded it's good, but not worth the wait.

Igreja dos Clérigos is a great church in Porto and the attached Clérigos Tower are one of my favorites overall in Portgual. As soon as you walk in you can feel all of the history and the centuries of faith all around you. It is a magnificent church inside and outside as the exterior and tower portion is grand and awe inspiring and the interior is beautifully decorated and has so many things to see and details to observe and notice. I liked the overall atmosphere and vibe of this church as it was welcoming and accommodating. They are very well organized and are able to efficiently handle many visitors at once without being overly crowded or noisy and keeps the lines moving so everyone has a chance to enjoy the church. The views from the tower are amazing as you get a chance to see a 360 view of Porto and truly appreciate all that the city has. I had a wonderful time here.

Interesting place to see. A LOT of stairs to climb so be aware of that and wear confortable shoes! The museum part is a small part, quite quick to visit and then you go to the top of the tower. Only one path so you may have to wait to go up or down but it's normal regarding the architecture of the place. It's not possible to go only to the top of the tower, you have to see also the museum. The staff is nice.

Visiting the city and strolling through this area, no doubt asks that Torre dos Clérigos be admired. It is very interesting to know this landmark and get a better sense of the city's history, enjoy the architecture and recover parts of the past. I strongly recommend a tour and visit of this iconic tourist spot. (Original) Ponto turístico muito bem conservado, acessível e bem localizado. The museum is as expected, especially when compared to similar attractions. You first enter and go through the building In a maze form (with directions) lots of information and historical rooms and places. I went for the view at the top.... very good. Well worth it. You will get a few steps in as well 😁. Recommended.

Panorama view of Porto. A slightly steep uphill climb is worth the views, as well as the Gothic and authentic feel of this cathedral. If you've been walking around Lisbon or Porto for a few days then your legs will be ready for this church tower. The church also has a small museum, including an Instagram worthy view of the chapel situated behind a statue of Jesus

  • 2/5 Cassandra S. 1 year ago on Google
The view is nice…but not worth the price of admission, number of tourists, and sheer number of steep and uneven stairs! It felt very generic to me…I’d skip it unless you’re religious or love niche history.

  • 5/5 Dejan B. 1 year ago on Google
Igreja dos Clerigos is one of the most beautiful Porto Churches, although it is very hard to compare and rank them as all are really gorgeous. Entry to the Church is free and you'll be amazed with a beautiful bright oval shaped interior. Outstanding stepped "stairway to heaven" Portuguese altar with nice organs aside. Beautiful marble and gilded wood carvings (no Azulejos in this one). On the opposite side is the famous Torre de Clerigos tower, but you can skip it. Same views you have for free and without crowds and climbing 10 min walk downhill at Miradouro da Vitoria (read that review).

  • 5/5 Soufiane M. 1 year ago on Google
Full 360° view on the entire city at the highest point. The tower is 76m tall and you'll have to climb it all by stairs. You get to visit the entire church and all the rooms. The church itself is nice but not as impressive as all other churches in the city. The visit is totally worth it just for the tower, go for it.

  • 3/5 Carlo P. 1 year ago on Google
I think it is overpriced, nothing special to visit. For the sane price in the city there other amazing monuments. 3 stare for the church and the view on Porto

  • 5/5 sonali b. 1 year ago on Google
Best view of Porto from this tower. Please remember there is only one way to go up and down and the stairs are more or less half meters. So be prepared. View is beautiful.

  • 5/5 Linda C. 1 year ago on Google
Great experience. The climb was narrow but safe. Stairs are square and not challenging. The view is great up there. The climb is okay for kids as well. The ticket price include church is 6 euro as of 11/2022. Kids are free.

  • 3/5 Rosemarie t. 1 year ago on Google
To be honest it was quite cool but nothing out of the extraordinary. Especially when someone was playing, it was absolutely beautiful. To have a walk up and see the tower part you have to buy tickets. There's also a souvenir shop. This is a minor thing and doesn't really have anything to do with the church but there are toilets which you can only access with a ticket (the one for the tower).

  • 5/5 Fábio A. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful church and the view from the Tower is great. Another place that lacks a bit of context and more historical facts on the many rooms you go through. They could do a better job at controlling access to the highest parts of the Tower. It starts to get messy with people going up and down. And at the peak you barely have space to move as no one is controlling how many people get up there. The view is great, tho! Also, the security guard at the entrance was poorly and did not show a lot of respect for the tourists.

Clerigos tower is a magnificent structure, church, and has a museum inside. It is located close to Sao Bento Station, a 5-minute walk. The area is full of shops, restaurants, and buzzing with tourists. It's a must visit. The climb up the tower is very interesting. The views from the top are amazing. It's a 360-degree view of Porto. The inside of the church and the museum exhibits are also marvelous. It costs 8 euros, and it takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Close by, there are other attractions within walking distance.

The light show was quite spectacular and worth the money however. It took 30 minutes, the music was very relaxing and the light show made you look up the ceiling quite a lot so after 20 minutes we were fighting not to fall asleep and we ended up with pain in our neck 😁. But a definite must see for the first 20 minutes.

The Church of the Clerics, also known as Saint-Épvre Church, is located in Nancy, France. This Gothic church, built in the 14th century, is a beautiful example of religious architecture in the region. It houses remarkable works of art and is a historic place of worship in the city of Nancy. If you have specific questions about this church or would like to know more, feel free to ask.
