Like so many auction houses in South Florida, they have, at times, resorted to selling fake Russian antiques. I bought Russian lacquered boxes from them at a hefty price and the boxes turned out to be cheap prints pasted onto boxes which I think are not even lacquered, but some cheap imitation. Just be warned when you see Russian stuff that it could be fake and almost worthless. I have my suspicions about other items that keep appearing at Akiba, but without proof I will not say more. Be very, very careful with this auction gallery as they will NOT disclose that certain made-to-look-old objects are counterfeit.

TWICE I arranged for phone bids and was not called Clearly they don't care. I call in and spoke will a person giving my info, each time, as I told the person who called me. When she asked that I remove my comment I said that I would not and that I had another call. Your staff needs better training.
