I so wanted to give Camping Bagatelle 4 stars if only for the location and the friendly staff, both in reception and in the bar/restaurant. But as the site is very dated and tired I've kept my rating to 3. The welcome and checking in was easy, very straight forward and relatively quick as it should be. We were provided with a good plan of the site which clearly showed our pitch. We had electricity which didn't trip out during our stay. The pitch was level but the shrubs and bushes separating each pitch were sparse and not in great condition (my mate is a landscape gardener and he wasn't impressed). There was plenty of shade which was great but the pitch was basically gravel, so was very dusty. The shower block is old and dated, though it was clean. A number of cracked and missing tiles. The water, both in the showers and for washing up was always hot. We didn't use the launderette, but it was available if we needed it. The restaurant and bar is a little dated, having both indoor and terrace dining, as well as space for drinks. It was lovely sitting out late in the evening relaxing and the staff were friendly. The location is great. A 10 minute walk over the bridge takes you to the outskirts of the beautiful walled city, a further 5 minutes and you're almost in the centre. A stunningly beautiful city. So all-in-all a great location for a campsite that could be something else but sadly isn't, at the moment.

Great location for nearby attractions and Avignion city center. Safe and secure. I wouldn't risk staying overnight on nearby parking / aire. Dated toilets and showers but they work. Would stay there again. Feels like small forest camping. Good value for money.

The sanitary block needs attention, if fact the whole site needs attention. It's ok as long as you don't want to spend any time on site. However, it's in a great location & accessing Avignon is easy by foot - if you don't mind steps.

Great location, very busy site, facilities ok, restaurant not working chef ill. For such a busy site I thought this was very poor. But I expect because of the location it has no impact on them. Out of the gate you are looking at the Pont d’ Avignon and the walls. Walk across the new bridge and you are in town.

Wonderful campsite and great pitches. Spacious for large campers. Facilities were clean. Reception team was nice and very helpful. The town is in walking distance and very beautiful. Recommend for short of long stays. The camp ground Resturant could use some lessons in customer service. Overall a good explanation.

This Campsite is dirt. Don't go there, take the other one aside The places are dirty, the showers are dirty, the facilities are dirty. The claim, that they do what they can, to get be better is a lie. The campsite is full of long term camps, so that they earn a lot of mony. But they do not even offer toiletpaper, soap or working taps. Nothing of this basics. If you ask for a place for a tent for 2 nights, the answer is: "take our hostel it could be rainy this night". No i don't take your expensive hostel that is dirty too. Then they are offended and let you know. Rude, non-proffessional staff.

Close to the city center, ideally situated for visiting Avignon. Also one of the few open campgrounds in the wider area for those who need a place for a night on the way to Spain in December. The ground is well-maintained, the sanitaries are rather old but clean. A bit expensive for what is offered.

As usual, the staff is not pleasant, they have a business to make grow, and the French welcome is not really there. I feel sorry for the tourists arriving in this beautiful région. I'm French and people are so much more friendly in many other camp sites. Anyway, they are so well situated that every year I return in this unfriendly place ( except for the night guard who are amiable).

As previous reviews have stated, it's ok. The surface of the pitches in September is just fine dust which gets kicked up in the air by inconsiderate drivers who drive through the campsite too fast. Sanitary block is cleaned regularly by the singing cleaner 👍. It is perfectly located to explore Avignon from the campsite by foot. We didn't need to get our bikes off our motorhome although many did as there are cycle paths into town too. Would recommend staying here to explore Avignon

Position is excellent for Avignon and for via rhona cycle path. Campsite is tired. Amenity block is poorly maintained. Broken tiles and fixtures etc. Pitches are dusty and small. Total shade. Light levels are low. Lots of notices giving instructions.

Perfect location to visit Avignon, but kind of expensive for off-season. Google says Free Wifi but that wasn’t the case.

Not much to say... One thing that stands out is the location of the camp, walking distance to the old town. Other than that it's a mediocre place. Would stay in some other camp but they were full. In July there is the Avignon festival so it's better to make reservations.

Not a bad place to stay the night, cheap but the ground is hard so it’s not easy to set a tent. Also had lots of ants everywhere and thought I changed spots a few time I could not find a place that wasn’t filed with them. Over all a good place to go if with van or motor home but not the best for a tent unless on a budget

Relaxing stay out of season I originally just booked for a couple of nights but ended up staying 6. Had the pleasure of a pitch overlooking the river. Great shading and fun watching boats come downstream from the van. 2 great beaches, totally recommend.

Very good location for visiting Avignon. We were here in spring at low season, so, we had not a lot of tourists. Camping is large, sanitaryies are old, but function. Some pitches even have grass. Nice trees. Not expensive.

This is a rough place close to town. There is literally no place to sit down and relax. You must pay for a seat at the bar or restaurant. How horrible is that! There are 3 tiny, rickety picnic tables. But child sized. Otherwise the campground is ok, until they let a whole bus load of kids in who are too noise to sleep. The guy at the bar is very mean. Just sits around waiting to yell at me.

Great setting on the river. Quite small pitches for our 7m caravan and 6m Transit to squeeze into. Very closely set to neighbours too. Light on facilities but so good for being just a bike ride into Avignon.

The camping is quite close to the city which is reachable within 15 Minutes. so we recommend this place. You have water and eletricity and a clean toilet as well.

The campsite is in the perfect situation to visit Avignon by foot or cycle. It's a 25 minute walk to the train station to go to Arles or Orange or further afield. The receptionist spoke perfect English and was perfectly polite. You can order bread at reception to collect from the small shop in the morning. The pitches are small and separated by trees. The sanitary block is old and draughty and was supposed to be heated but it didn't feel warm to us. It is clean and tidy and the water is hot so that's a plus. The toilet cubicles are tiny; no toilet seats but plenty of toilet paper.

Nice quiet spot and a town within walking distance but the gates close quite early and they don't reopen until morning.

For location... Fabulous. 10 minutes, and you are walking through the stone arch into Avignon, and another 10 minutes, has you in the palace de Papes. Shop on site, fresh bread of of a morning if you wanted it, booked the night before Service... Staff were great, reception had good English And the facilities were clean Rooms.. Bring a looooong lead as there isn't electric on each pitch. Or make sure you ask reception for a pitch near the electric box. The sanitary was clean, but tired /dated and like alot of French sites, no toilet seats. Hot water not 24 hours... Morning and evening when we visited. WiFi is paid for and was told not for streaming... Just for Facebook etc Cost... 41 euros for 2 nights Asci card

Very clean facilities but a bit tired looking. Good price considering location. Well located for walk to town.

👍 I expected more; it should be four star camping. The area is large and shaded by old big trees - this is nice. But shower is a mess: the automatic light turns off and you have to continue in darkness, the water temperature can not be changed, I would prefer a cold shower as outside temperature is a...

😠 It was an absolute disaster for us. We actually wanted to relax for 2 days and booked 2 nights. We were just too knocked out. to continue driving and just wanted to find a place.
