We came here because it was recommended in the Lonely Planet guide, and it is our first day. Great, great service, the employee was so polite and lovely! Wish all would be this way. The food was tasty, made with fresh ingredients. Wine delicious.

The staff is very friendly and I always found this place bustling with diners. With that said, I was a bit disappointed with the food. My starter was the stuffed zucchini with basil and sardines, it was fine. For my entree, I had the tagliatelle with dried fruit and it was very bland. I had high hopes for this place after reading the glowing reviews but it didn't live up to my expectations.

The food was delicious. The service was excellent. It was a great backstreet location. They let us share without extra charge. One asparagus was tough. The shrimp was grilled perfectly.

Just arrived in Avignon. First impressions excellent. We are so excited to be here and we chose a splendid restaurant for our first lunch. We shall return, there is no doubt. Thanks for friendly, helpful service

This is one of the few restaurants in town that is open on a Sunday, and I so happened to swing by for a quick lunch. My partner & I were seated without a reservation, though it filled up quickly afterward! We sat outside at a table on the cute little street, and enjoyed some shade from the sun. We wanted something light, so we ordered just 3 starters: the stuffed roasted vegetables, the tuna tartare, and the zucchini tart. All were so delicious and fresh tasting, and we were easily full after as the portions were reasonably sized. Order a glass of the local rose wine, it really hits the spot.

This restaurant has a bit of a private kitchen vibe, as can be seen from the photos of previous diners. The menu changes with the seasons, and even the side dishes for the same main meats vary. For my season period meal, there are 4 main dishes to choose from: steak, fish, pasta, and chicken. Being a carnivore, I went with the steak. 🥩Smoked Pepper Sauce Steak Just by the name, you can tell it's not a traditional French dish. Unlike traditional sauces like béarnaise or hollandaise, this smoked pepper sauce is likely a modern and innovative creation. The orange color sauce on the steak reminds me of the chili oil on Lanzhou noodles. This smoked pepper sauce has a unique flavor, quite distinct from Australian or American-style steaks. 🥩Basil Cream Pasta This is a classic Italian-style dish. The rich basil-flavored cream sauce coats the pasta, making it irresistible. The cooked tomatoes add some texture to prevent it from being too monotonous, making it a top choice for pasta lovers. 🥩Pastilla of Saint-Marcellin Cheese with Almonds and Honey This is an appetizer. The cheese is heated within the pastry, and when you cut into the pie, the warm, thick cheese oozes out, becoming a creative salad dressing. However, this cheese flavor doesn't focus on salty or savory, which may not be to everyone's taste. It's a bit like when foreigners try peking stinky tofu for the first time; the initial taste sensation is the "stink." French desserts never disappoint, and this one was no exception. The hot dark chocolate and cold hazelnut ice cream complemented each other, providing a beautiful ending to this meal. The only drawback was that it was a bit too sweet, but this seems to be a characteristic of local desserts. Whether it's one of the reasons many locals have hair loss issues remains a mystery.

Wonderful small restaurant, we had the fish soup and it was great. Service was quick and friendly. Would go there again...

We were expecting it to be a little more sophisticated because of the prices. The food is simple and good.

Just off rue. Joseph Vernet on a tiny alleyway called rue Mazan was Restaurant EAT, a French bistro style eatery that seats about 20 people. We enjoyed the lunch service of Tagliatelles with Chestnuts (a large servicing of pasta and very enjoyable) as well as a Pork Shank with Polenta (from the "Formule de Midi" which includes a dessert, glass of wine and coffee for 18 Euro). The food took a bit of time but this was understandable as there was only one person in the kitchen; but it was not unbearable and have us time to warm up. The meal itself was very good, with decent sized portions and flavorful food. The atmosphere is clean and quite with low ceilings and a lot of windows which lets in much natural lighting, even on a cloudy December day.

The restaurant was great. We sat outside for dinner and the table setting was tidy. We shared the tagiatelle pasta dish and the creamy mushroom sauce was delicious! 🍄 The squash starter was very good too. Our dessert was creme Brule and we also got the lemon meringue. The creme brulee was chestnut cream inside instead of vanilla, but still great. 🌰 The lemon meringue was the BEST dessert that I have ever eaten on our trip. Love this restaurant.

We found this little gem on the way driving back to Amsterdam! Their a la carte menu has plenty options for meat and vegetarian lovers. They pay attention to allergies and confirm this with you after ordering. Aside from their a la carte, they serve this lunch menu set for 18€. It includes a main, dessert, glass of wine, and close it with a coffee. We decided to give it a go since we saw other locals ordering this menu without a blink. The food was very tasty! The combination of the sausage, potatoes and the broth was perfect. The rice pudding was surprisingly good. The goat cheese options paired with the red wine was damn tasty. As for the a la carte Pear dessert, I would have preferred the pear served on a different temperature level. In my experience it was served way too cold. After driving couple hours from Monaco we were ready to relax a bit for lunch, and enjoy some tasty food and drinks. We had such a great lunch experience. I do not regret making the decision driving to the city of Avignon and find this foodspot.

This small but very fine restaurant located near the town’s medieval walls serves its meals with seasonal and high grade ingredients which comes with an exceptional reasonable price. Outside seating is limited but worth coming early for.

Stumbled across this gem of a restaurant in the middle of the old Avignon city walls. Lovely and kind staff adjusted to speaking French and English, and provided spot on recommendations for the delicious French meals. Served fast and without airs, yet super tasty - if you do the meal of the day, it’ll be also great value for money. So good we wanted to come back for more meals!

Food was pretty good (fish stew was great, steak not so much), but they have limited capacity. One guy in front, one in back...they should limit their seating even more. Given a lot of good reviews, we were optimistic, but didn't live up to the rating.

Had lunch here and it was one of our best meals, of many, in Avignon. The space was nice and quiet. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding. We had the seafood risotto and the red pepper pasta. Both were perfect with a nice white wine. Prices were very reasonable.

Beautiful 3 course meal for a reasonable price. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and we all enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere and service were more laid back than classic fine dining, but the food and wine were on par. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful restaurant to stop by when you’re in Avignon! The food was magnificent. There are about 4-6 selections for each course (you can decide how many courses to take) and each dish is made from carefully selected local ingredients. The service was friendly and comfortable. We absolutely loved the vibe of the simple clean atmosphere. Thank you!

The food is fantastic! And the place is quite cozy and it's an actual "hidden" gem, on a side street, away from the hustle and bustle of the main street.

A really nice and cozy place in a small alley in Avignon. We felt absolutely welcomed and happy that they offered an english menu (even if they asked if we wanted one in french - which is no complain!). Great food, nice wine, excellent experience. 100% recommended.

We found this place while on vacation and I’m so glad we stopped in. The food was absolutely amazing! My friend and I split the hummus appetizer, which was excellent and a nice portion size to have a little taste before the main course. I ordered the fish of the day and it was perfect. Quite possibly the best fish I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Our desserts were incredible as well. The service was also great. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. Don’t miss the opportunity to eat here!

Great hole in the wall place. Food: delicious, creative, and vegetarian-friendly Service: charming and fast Price: had a 3-course a-la-carte lunch for 2, with wine and coffee for EUR 65 Setting: outside in the shade, on a nice little street away from tourists Dishes: we enjoyed the carrot and coconut gaspacho, hummus trio, pesto pasta, and the orange zest tiramisu

I was a bit disappointed about the food here after reading the reviews. I had the daily special which was okay to eat but I would not order it again. The dessert was tasty and all in all it's not a bad deal with water, wine and coffee.

We had a chance to taste the delicacies at EAT two night ago. The service was welcoming and warm, the food was awesome! I think I tasted one of the best tiramisu I've ever had in my life. Not even joking! Try their calamar and risotto, worth getting your teeth dark by the ink of the calamar. It tastes wonderful!
