Like a medieval tavern, the restaurant is hidden behind St-Pierre church in a secret courtyard. Dining in the terrasse with this ambiance was a unique experience. The food was delicious and exquisite, the service was also great. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful meal! All four of us loved what we each ordered. Food was delicious, the server was excellent and is a university student. The next day we ran into each other in the shopping area and he gave recommendations for other stores and entertainment. Just a fabulous atmosphere and experience.

We went for lunch, but already pretty late. They said that the kitchen already closed. We came back for dinner and the inner atmosphere is really nice 😊 We enjoyed the food a lot, very special menu. We will surely come back for the next tour. Their service also really good, I even got their salad dressing; ps keep it secret 🤫 I loved their salad. Really Provençal food~~~

Excellent!!! Delicious food, freshly cooked and generous portions!! We were lucky to get a table without reserving, however it is popular and gets busy so I'd recommend reserving!!!

Incredible spot. The food was amazing and loved their vin d’orange. The setting is also pretty in between buildings.

We are glad to have picked this one out of all the other restaurants in town! The staff were really friendly, the food was tasty and the portions were generous. The prices were normal, considering the other restaurants in town. We ate inside, it was really crowded, but we did not mind that.

Nice place in front of a church, but only “ok” food, what makes it really overpriced - 77 euros for a couple. We ate the “agneu de beuf” with potatoes, and the meat was ok, but the potatoes were super dry and tasteless. For dessert we had the chocolate moielleux, and it was less then “ok”. Cold and dry. Wouldn’t come back.

Delicious food and lovely staff. Our waitress was very patient in taking orders from our big chaotic group. The food was rustic and filling. A great find!

I'm going to be harsh in this review because I think that this restaurant can do better. We got the vegetarian platter after reading a lot of positive reviews about it. For $25, I expected the salad on it to be made from fresh produce. Most of the lettuce on our plate was wilted and browned on the edges, and the vegetables in the salad also seemed old. I feel like I could put together a similar salad from the grocery store. I don't mind their prices here, but the quality of the ingredients needs to match the price tag. We didn't order anything else, but I wouldn't recommend this particular dish and I would keep in mind that the other dishes may also be made of low quality ingredients. A pity because it is a beautiful restaurant.

My cabaillard with a cream sauce was delicate and tasty, a very nice fish dish. The black rice was a unique (and good) accompaniment. My wife and friends had chicken, also with a tasty, darker sauce, Service outside in a pleasant square was good. The menu was a bit limited and metal chairs not very comfortable. Making a reservation by email was helpful.

Excellent lunch, felt local and authentic, recommended by our hotel “La devine Comedie-Suites Delux”, would definitely return. What a dessert.

Service was friendly and welcoming! Beautiful quiet spot. Apricot dessert was good! Picture is of the cod dish.

We selected this restaurant based on online reviews and expected a 5 star dinner which is what we got. The restaurant is hidden behind St-Pierre church in a quiet courtyard. We were there during the Avignon Theatre Festival and the city was hopping - but this spot was an oasis. And the ambiance was paired with great food and service - a great dinner.

It was alright for a quick and simple lunch during sightseeing in Avignon. Perfect location nearby Palais des Papes. Delicious desserts. Nice and helpful staff.

The setting of this restaurant was welcoming and peaceful, slightly out of the main tourist crowds. Menu is seasonal, changes every few months, most of the food was very tasty. There is a vegetarian, sometimes vegan option which was welcome. They were very kind to make a pasta dish for my young child. Get there for 7pm if you want to be seated for dinner service. Otherwise you'll be waiting til 8.30pm (we visited during peak festival season)

I think our nicest meal in Avignon. Extremely popular so worth booking before turning up on spec. Very nice staff, good wine list and small but varied quality menu.

Located in the picteresque "place de San Pierre" looks idyllic and out of a fairy tale.. The food is delicious with a variety of French dishes availiable.. Prices are reasonable The 2 stars are due to the service.

We had the day suggestion good filet with vegetables taccole and rice . Dessert . Good price and tasty . This cozy restaurant is also to raccomando for the lovely location in a tiny square . Our table was outside in a cozy square but also inside the style is very nice 👍🏻

Was recommended to us by a local. Must try the Epicerie platter. Perfect with a glass of wine sitting in private courtyard by a church. Great spot!! Actually, it was so good we dined here 2 nights in a row!!!

The setting of the square is captivating. The dishes are abundant. The first waitress seated us inside, having free tables outside, I had to ask another waitress to place us at a table outside. My main dish, which was chicken with almond sauce, gratin vegetables and potato, arrived raw and after going through the kitchen a second time, it was ready. Its taste did not dazzle me. I would repeat for the setting, but this time I would only make salad and cheese.

The food is a masterpiece, both in taste and in aesthetics. The cheesecake was better than our grandmas, which is hard to admit. Above all, the place itself is magical. Located on the beautiful square, with all the French vibes.

I loved our lunch here. It’s ridiculously cute and oh so French sitting at one of their outdoor tables in the square next to the church. The food was excellent (and vegetarian friendly!) and topped off by a very solid bottle of house wine. Highly recommend!

Nice, elegant and discreet restaurant in the center of Avignon. I appreciated the silence, the privacy, the small european square dominated by the church. Amazing location, food made with addiction and passion, jovial people despite the covid period .. I have seen great professionalism. Recommended x all you who pass by these parts.

Another great recommendation from our hosts here in Avignon!! The service was excellent (our French isn't great so they explained the menu in detail in English for us just to be sure) and the food was fantastic (we shared the assiette de l'Epicerie and the fois gras)!

Rude service and total disregard for the customers wishes. Avoid at all cost. We tried to order an extra appetizer course and were told that was not possible. The food that came out that we did order was so poorly prepared we sent one dish back and refused to eat the second as it was poorly presented and not cooked as requested. What’s more we asked for items like bread, olive oil and onion and were told sure at the time we orders but when our salmon salad arrived there weren’t any to be had. Foie Gras was so overcooked and our steak was drenched in red wine sauce. The manager was outright rude and the server passably competent.

Excellent food quality. Every single item was 10/10. Not much else to say about it.

  • 3/5 Chris O. 2 years ago on Google
Brilliant service and the setting is good if you enjoy dining in a courtyard with no atmosphere apart from the restaurant. (Not for me, as you’ve perhaps guessed.) Food left a lot to be desired. Mediocre fish. Rabbit - pleased to see it on the menu, until I tasted it. Don’t get me wrong - acceptable, but not delightful. Price was simply staggering given the meal.

Good food in a very picturesque location, the outdoor seating is right in front of a beautiful church. The service was great and the menu included plenty of great options for trying traditional French cuisine. I highly recommend the fillet steak, but I should note that I asked for mine blue and a fellow diner asked for his well-done yet what we received was exactly the same rare steak. The deserts were nice too, but nothing special.
