If you want to know what kind of service is offered in this place read the owner's responses to other reviews. Food is average, mocks non-french speakers, and the service is appalling.

Read his responses to other reviews, not just mine.* I wish I didn’t have to write this review, particularly after it coming so highly recommended to me (I lived in Avignon from August 2017 to August 2018), but here it goes. Unfortunately, I think the place isn’t suited toward those dining alone, but especially if you’re not French! It was a weekday night during the heatwave and I walk up hoping for a table. They totally forgot about me although they had a table of two ready. Also, they’d immediately mocked my accent in French (I am anglophone but ALSO francophone and speak a high level of French--c2) and handed me a menu “een Engleesh”. I spoke French the entire time with them. As for the food, I don’t see the hype. I got the “pasta carbonara especial” and I wouldn’t come close to calling this “especial” in the good sense. It didn’t resemble or taste like any carbonara I’ve ever had in my life. All in all, over 20€ for this and an apérol spritz, unfriendly service, and inauthentic Italian food. **P.S. if you’d like to come with a friend and they’re only having drinks (not eating) they’ll need to pay for their seat and spot on the terrace of the restaurant.** Supposedly, they get a glass of water, a plate and cutlery as well as “welcoming, friendly service” for the small price of 15,50€. Who does that?!? I won’t be returning.

Wonderful place to eat. Nice food and generally nice staff -- but the owner can be very abrasive if you ask him too much (like the wifi code or a different table then the one he has allocated to you). Play it safe and you'll really enjoy yourself -- especially if you ask him about the large choice of rums that he has on offer.

Rustic and simple. The owner watches every single movemet ar the front door. They serve home made pastas. Prices are good. Its always busy.

Lovely friendly staff, that's always a good sign. We both had Lasagna, the wife's with salad, mine with a pizza. I was hungry. The food was hot and delicious, the beer was ice cold. Really nice meal on a lovely day in a lovely city.

Very good pasta To be honest but overpriced salads like everywhere else in the summer (salads are sold at least 5 times their real price) and the bufala is really not tasty which is a pity! Good service and nice location in pedestrian streets where there are no cars to bother you during your meal !

Absolutely cool ambience, excellent pizza and pasta dishes, great desserts and a huge selection of incredible Rhums. What do you want more ?

Best pasta I have had in years. Fresh really does make a difference. Great people. My favourite Italian in Avignon. Others are very very good. This one is special.
