This place is a wetland paradise for birds and other wildlife. The whole area is also steeped in history with fantastic places to visit We stayed for 5 days but wish it was longer.

Wer einmal dort war, will immer wieder hin!

Beautiful natural reserve with a multitude of different birds, many flamingos, white horses and typical black bulls. The hiking trails are mainly on large roads, more suitable for mountain bikes.

(Translated by Google) With the coolness of the following morning, we head towards the Camargue, a strip of land consisting of 75,000 hectares of sand, swamps, ponds and rice fields, an immense park of wild and unspoiled nature, among pink flamingos, bulls and white horses that live in the wild state. In fact there are not many horses, absolutely docile who approach the fences, accepting to be caressed in exchange for a few bites of bread. They are small horses with an almost white coat. The few foals are brown, sometimes black and only around 4-5 years their coat becomes white. The herds of bulls are rarer: we see one but at some distance. The coat of the Camargue bulls is very dark and they have long horns that run vertically upwards. We also see a beautiful group of pink flamingos intent on dredging the bottom of the swamp with their particular beaks. However, it is exciting to see free animals in the countryside.

Beautiful park between the Rhône Delta and Mediterranean sea. We went there to see the sea, visit the ornithological park and go horse riding. Everything is very close by and quite well preserved. We were however a bit sad to see that there was a lot of plastic pollution on the sea. We spent some time collecting plastic on the beach and it was easily. It's easy to find restaurants or shops in Saintes-Marie-de-la-Mer and it's fairly close from a lot of things in Camargue. We went there end of October and the weather was perfect, but I heard that summer times can be quite tough with mosquitoes and heat.

A very unique place and definitely must visit. You will enjoy every minute here. You can get a horse riding experience ( the place we asked was 45 euro pp for 2 hours, but they we closed that day). Very peaceful and quiet and very beautiful.

(Translated by Google) A splendid wetland, easy to access, and visibly poorly developed (a positive point for a natural park)! You can see many sea birds as well as endemic species to these fragile wetlands. The flamingos can be observed by the hundreds, or even more, as during my visit at the end of October 2020. My only regret, that there is no explanatory panel showing the interest of these places and the species that live there: to the uninitiated, they can only appear as gloomy places with the smell of the tide.

Beautiful bird sanctuary with a many flamingo ponds. The park has a short walk and a slightly longer 'wilder' wetland area. Lots of horses running around as well. Great place to bring children. Loved it.

Great place to see wild flamingos up close. If you're lucky you can also spot beavers. Alot of different birds, worth to visit for sure.

A unique place, but do not stay outside in the evening or you will be eaten alive by mosquitoes. Millions of insects flying around. Unbelievable frog chorus in the evening! It is a swamp.

Open wetland area with plenty of walking and opportunity to see wetland and wading birds. Unfortunately we were there end March/early April and the migrants had not arrived. We still saw plenty of flamingos, great and little egret, grey and night heron, avocet, snipe, black ibis and black wing stilt among others. Lots of red and black kites too.

This place is full of natural beauty everywhere you go. There are so many tracks to cycle or walk down and explore the wildlife and old buildings used as communication towers in years gone by.

Stunning natural beauty in a quiet and serene setting. We unfortunately had cold, rainy weather the day we visited, so we did not get to walk and explore as planned, but we still drove through the entire park, and were stunned by the salt pools, birds, horses, bulls and massive waves crashing on the shore.

Very different from other national/regional parks. But if you are into birdwatching its a really unique and nice place. Absolutely recommend to go see the salt beds!

Unbedingt an Mückenspray denken!

(Translated by Google) A quiet place on the noisy south coast of France. The Rhone Delta forms a beautiful and wide water, sand and bush landscape in which flamingos and bulls have their home. The Camargue is a bit reminiscent of the North Sea, just warmer. (Original) Ein ruhiger Ort an der lauten Südküste Frankreichs. Ehhh. It's a pretty area but not sure why this is a park you would go out of your way to visit to be honest. You could walk up country lane in the area and have the same experience.

Magnificent, majestic in all it's splender. We visited the horses, the bulls, flamingo's, herons of all sorts, even saw nutria (beaver rats). It was very quiet (tourists) compared to previous years, but nature flourishes as never before. We will return to absorb all the beautiful sights.

Front promotional videos I have seen I was expecting a haven of wildlife including wild horses roaming around. There is very little infrastructure for tourism, no parking places, no picnic areas. I saw a lot of tourists driving around not knowing what to do. On a five month trip cycling around France, I would say the Camargue has been the biggest disappointment.
