Beautiful oasis of calm before you enter the caves. The caves are magnificent, and bigger than any I've seen. The guide was very knowledgeable, helpful, and respectful of the cave. Definitely recommend a visit for an afternoon!

Great little outing for the family. Be aware that if you are uncomfortable with heights, maybe wait outside.

Guide had terrible English…. And they should forbid people bringing infants into the cave… 2 infants and a crying toddler were screaming up the place making the hard to understand guide even more difficult to understand…. You should put up a age limit… really… by allowing them you ruined the tour for the entire group ! And that’s why you get 3 stars Upd: you might find it okay to allow people of al ages in… even if they are -1 year old. But by allowing this your depriving all other visitors from a nice experience … because of this answer you gave, I’m taking a star off.

Spectacular caves with an easy walking tour and lift back up to the top. We went with 3 kids aged 3-9 who aren't really into caves and geography etc but enjoyed it enough for it to have been worth it. Lots of reviews say how cold it is - I'd recommend jumpers for kids but i was fine in tshirt and shorts. There's a nice gift shop - a cooperative with local products but we found the attached museum a bit dry. Overall a memorable family trip but better for a couple of hours trip rather than a whole day.

Great visit! You go down a stairway in a tunnel, to arrive at the cave. Beautiful structure, very well organized and preserved. The tour lasts about 1h, hour and 15. At the end you are taken back up in an elevator. The museum is also very good.

Absolutely amazing. The descent down many stairs is slow enabling you to take in the beauty of this cavern. There are many stopping points creating photo opportunities. Eventually you are returned to the surface via an elevator.

I do recommend at least half a day to go and visit the area as it's a bit off the beaten trails. Fun for all the family the cave is a nice 12°C / 53.6 °F all year around so do bring something warm. With 90 to 100 % humidity inside the floor is wet so do mind that also. If you want a tour in english, I think it would be best to let them know in advance especially if you have a large group as not all the staff can speak english there. Do book your tickets online as it's more convenient. Great Staff and our guide, a great, sense of humour .

Highly recommended place to visit. Friendly and helpful staff. It is a long way down so make sure you have comfortable shoes and take a jacket because it is cool down there. Which is great in this heat. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This place is very unique, I have been to other caves but none was like this. So beautiful and the guide was so friendly and funny,he was speaking in French and English. Best thing that after you go around 221 m down the earth, there is a lift that will take you up. So no stress if you have problems with going up the stairs 😊

A must. Make sure you're warm (it's a 13 degree Celsius temperature during 1 hour) and you have good shoes. You go down around 700 steps but you go back up by lift.

Well worth a visit, 700 steps and 150 metres into the depths, three caves to visit with a guide !! If you have mild as a guide,he will make you laugh !! What a joker and a really good guide with lots of useful information.like I said before, well worth a visit !! Entrance fee for the two sites €14 the adult .

Fantastic tour through 3 of the caves. Very good guide on the english tour and beautiful cave interior with even a light and music show at the end. You walk down the route and a lift takes you back up again. Take normal shoes and some warm clothes as it is about 11 degrees for more than an hour. We als visited the extensive and informative prehistoric museum on site. Our kids (2 and 4) enjoyed the many different views in the cave. You can back in advance online and show the ticket on your smartphone. Very well recommended if you want to visit a cave in the Ardeche region.

Beautiful, stunning sites of natural stalagmites. Al lot of steps. It is around 20 degrees Celsius downstairs. Zo a 17 degree difference with the French summer. Worth it. True natural beauty and a guide that speaks English very wel.

Well worth a visit. 700ish steps and 120 meters underground. Our guide spoke great English and was very knowledgeable, also made some good jokes. My kids deffo panicked when she said the lift back up was out of order! It’s quite cold down there (11-12 degrees C) so pack a light top.

A very typical French village restaurant. Delicious local vegetables and meat and reasonable prices. Eat your fill in a piece of graved salmon for €9. Top-notch service with a swarm of young waitresses.

The Aven is really beautiful but the English guide we had was terrible. The English was bad enough that we could barely understand (I was visiting with a German friend and he couldn’t get anything) and he was rude to the visitors (threatening them of going to jail !!!). The visit was nice I just wish we had a different guide.

This is a must see. We had a great guide, full of wit and able to tell the story in plain language. The museum is quite impressive, and again presenting the story in an accessible fashion. Facilities are great too. Great outing for children.

Very impressive, suitable for the whole family. Think about taking a jumper with you as the temperature drops to about 12°C when you are underground. Beware that the site gets really busy when the weather isn't great.

The aven is amazing! The prehistory museum well documented, but a bit tough for young kids.

One of the very best caves in europe, the tour guide was amazing (english spoken), the great story teller. We enjoy cave and museum of pre-historic for only 14,5€ per adult, very recommended if you like underground places, in this cave you can go 121 m below the surface.

A very interesting and unique experience. Although the tour was conducted in French our guide was very friendly. We downloaded the English audio guide beforehand so had no issues. I would thoroughly recommend visiting.
