Did not see at its best as many rooms were closed due to the end of the Egyptian exhibition. Whatever you do do not miss the Annexe housing the Planque donation. Truly stunning.

While the art was good, security was rather confusing telling us to keep our bags in front while also telling us to store them away. Furthermore, I was told I had to pay even though I'm a young french student. Given the price I paid it was kind of disappointing but I definitely have some good pictures from the trip!

At the time of our visit, there were a few different exhibitions happening at the museum; David Hockney, Collections de Cézanne á Giacometti, Archéologie Site d’Entremont, Collections du XIVe au XVIIIe Archéologie, Collection Jean Planque (aka Picasso aka my favourite exhibition here!). The ticket included access to all the exhibitions so it was a great value.

A great museum, quite small, therefore you can see everything really fast. Also, you can buy tickets there, they are very cheap 8€ per adult. Under 18’s enter for free.

It was a nice museum with some beautiful paintings and sculptures .. However my goal of visiting was to see the temporary Egyptian Exibition .. It has very beautiful pieces of Egyptian Art but the most inspiring for me was the Lizard's mummy which is believed to be the only one of its kind in the world .. I'm Egyptian and was happy to see such thing for the first time .. The ticket to this museum gives access to a nearby smaller art Museum as well ..

We recently visited,we can easily visit this place with @google maps help. You can take help of local transportation as well but if u wish to take walk it hardly 10 minutes walk from main city centre. Cost 5 💶 +1 Europe if you want to visit one more place which is just 5 minutes of walk. It is clean and you need to wear mask 😷 and health pass is mandatory (if you are Indian and you had taken 2 dose that certificate is valid). They have audio guide were you can select multiple languages and understand that. They had security guards also if need you can ask them also but for better understanding prefer audio guide. It will cost 3 euro💶 per place. So total 6 euro for both. It is little heavy on your pocket bt if you have interest then worth spending. If you are a person who have interest in art, history then this is a go to place. Duration can be 2 hours if you go into details.

This was a good experience. There area few limited pieces from famous artists.. But a lot of old religious art which isn't very impressive. Crucially half the exhibition was "temporarily clowed" with no further explanation and no indication online - just so happens that it is the section with all the 20th century works. That was the reason I came.

Well worth to visit the museum with big collection of Granet paintings, as well Cezannes and some of Picasso and other famous painters. There is also part with some older artefacts from Egyptian times, and with the same ticket you can visit other part of the galery set in a ex church. Nice to see some of Dalis work...

Nice place to spend a few hours. Lots to see, including a plethora of statues in the lower level. There was a David Hockney exhibition on when we were there.

They have an excellent collection of sculptures. The rest of the museum didn't impress me so much (including the temporary Hockney exhibition). It's still worth a visit while in Aix.

Amazing paintings & scrupltures collection. I was lucky I visited during the exhibition of the ancient Egyptian of Pharaoh, Osiris and the Mummy among others!

Well-organized gallery with a couple of masterpieces of famous artists. Even if we're in Césanne's own city, there are only a few of his paintings. Nice visit and added value to our little walking tour of Aix. Certainly more interesting to connoisseurs of French art (which I'm not).

In our experience by far the nicest museum in the city. Amazing collections both classic and modern, with an especially original temporary exhibit. Would definitely recommend.

An interesting mix of exhibitions including a sculpture gallery with a variety of marble works and some plaster and clay mock-ups. The Egyptian exhibition beautifully presents a Book of the Dead. The day we visited there was a sign saying the sculpture gallery and Granet exhibition are closed, but the sculpture gallery was open so have a chat to the staff. Health pass required, a UK vaccine record was accepted without drama. Inside there is a quiet courtyard with tables, drink and snack vending machines and bathrooms.

This is a really nice museum, a great size and value, small enough to feel intimate and not overwhelming. Exhibits a permanent display of beautiful pieces by some of the greats, and I was there during the David Hockney temporary exhibit which was fabulous. Well worth the visit!

It is a smaller museum which allows you to see beautiful modern art paintings without getting museum fatigue. They also have an impressive roster of rotating and contemporary art exhibitions. When we were there they had a David Hockney retrospective - and at the third of the price of any big museum. Staff was friendly; cute gift shop.

The David Hockney show (British artist) is done, but I'm sure the Granet will do something great again. The permanent collection, while modest, is good. The areological finds from Entremont (oppodium) are here.

Terrific exhibits, and an amazing collection. The location is also perfect allowing visitors to see the heart of Aix en Provence.

Wonderful collection of art: everything is in perfect condition and really accessible, with no crowds, in comfortable, modern interior. Collection of Musée Granet left a very strong impression on me and I would be happy to come back one day!

Some great work to see, but a rather strange experience overall. Some very officious staff and people prefer to take pictures of the pictures rather than actually look at them. We were not allowed to take a bottle of drinking water into the building with us while someone else took a dog round the exhibitions! Most odd.

Excellent museum but be careful : Part of the collection is exhibited in another building (a former Chapel) which they didn't explain clearly enough to us and we missed it.

Small museum, but packed full of interesting and varied artworks from many different artists and eras. Took less than 2 hours to go through it all. Went on a Saturday evening and there was no wait to get in at all.

Lovely museum in two buildings set rather far apart. Picassos of various periods, a Van Gough, some Cezanne and marvelous Granets
