Of a 21 day cycle trip from Basel to Barcelona, Hotel L’Atelier was our absolute favorite stay. We arrived soaking wet having ridden in pouring rain and “Sylvia” greeted us ready to help us with our gear and bikes (and cold local beers). The place is full of wonderful history and cozy places to hang out. Stefan, the owner, oversees THE MOST amazing breakfast each morning complete with homemade baked goods & yogurt as well as a smorgasbord of cured meats & cheeses. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet. The hotel is surrounded by amazing restaurants and just a short walk to the sites of Avignon. We are already planning our next stay here.

How can I say? We have been loyal to this place for many years, despite so many new offers around. Why, simply because this place is unique. A small charming old-stoned building in the heart of a paradise village in Provence, runned by the family owner. All the staff is nice, everything is in place, each detail has been considered. For the breakfast in the planted patio, you will have the chance to meet people from all over the world. This is the kind of hidden place you don't want to share with others.

Beautiful hotel in Avignon. About a 36 minute walk/18 minute bike ride to the old city Avignon (other side of the Rhône). Has tea available 24/7. Air conditioned hotel. Would recommend to patrons who are interested in walking and seeing multiple views of Avignon!

This place is absolutely incredible; it might just be the best hotel we stay at in France. The location is perfect and so quiet compared to the busyness and tourist ridden Avignon centre. It is very close to buses and there are many restaurants around. The room was beautifully clean and relaxing. Make sure you include breakfast with your stay! There is food laid on for most of the day; eggs, fresh baguette, pastries, cakes and fruit and so much more and a stunning terrace to enjoy it on. You will not regret staying here!

This hotel was the highlight of our stay in the Avignon area. Everything was perfect for us. And we fell in love with Ratatouille, the hostess of the house who also is the smartest and sweetest cat in all of France.

Both my partner and I travel a lot for work but this was one of the best hotels we ever stayed. The stuff is super friendly and helpfull and at the check-in we already felt at home. The garden of the hotel is like from a romantic movie. You can see that the owners put a lot of details in the hotel. Our room was also very lovely, clean and designed with love. Breakfast had all we could ask for and the homemade cakes have been amazing. The town ist also very nice. We will come back again.

Best hotel on our month long trip to France. The room was spacious, clean, decorated beautifully, a large clawfoot bath and a private courtyard. The staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and we thank the staff for such a pleasant stay, we look forward to our next visit.

Charming little hotel with wonderful staff. The rooms are all unique and different. I like the town as it is interesting without being too large.

Hotel de L'Atelier is the perfect base to discover the region around Avignon. A wonderful hotel with a great courtyard to enjoy a wine before heading out to dinner in one of the many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The hosts could not have done more to accommodate all my groups needs during our stay. Thank you so much for helping make our stay amazing

We stayed here for 3 nights. The biggest pro is that staffs here are so friendly and helpful. Best service we ever had. Cons are no lift , really difficult to open the door using old system keys, somewhat small room and tiny bathroom, and wifi doesnt work. Also wish the breakfast had more variety of food choices (eg more egg dishes and sausages or bacons at least).

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a recent visit to Provence and we were so glad we did. The Hotel itself is authentic, clean and charming and fully functional, nothing disappointed us. The town of Villeneuve is just a total gem - we visited the local Antique Market on the saturday which was a unbelievable find, some real french treasures. The nearby gardens of Abbaye Saint-Andre were just stunning. Overall a 10/10 stay - thank you kindly from London.

What a pleasure to stay in this very friendly and delightful hotel. It's not just attractive, comfortable and sparkling clean, but frequented by interesting people who have come there for years. They serve a delicious breakfast and do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. There is Our bed was roomy and comfortable and the bathroom modern and seemingly brand new. Our balcony looked over a pleasant patio. There is a library of books to borrow, and a couple of comfortable living rooms with tea, coffee and snacks always at the ready. The hotel is in the center of town near nice restaurants, cafes and shops, and it's easy to drive there without the stress of driving in busier Avignon. In contrast to some of the suboptimal and isolating experiences we'd had in airbnbs and hotels in the area, it was a relief to have good company and comfort for less than we'd been paying. We highly recommend this gem of a hotel!

Wonderful hotel. I think location is best in Avignon area. Super clean hotel and area. Unique charm starts when you walk in and the English speaking staff is a fresh and friendly welcome. Great restaurants nearby. Staff helped our stay in so many ways. Comfortable eclectic rooms, solid breakfast and wonderful people. Would stay again without any hesitation.

Very friendly multilingual staff. Old building, renovated with love and attention to detail. Wonderful rooms. Lovely small and shaded garden to have breakfast or just a drink. No parking directly at the hotel. The big free of charge parking at the tourist office is a 150 Meter walk and the best option. Very recommendable.

I really appreciate the idea. However, the room was really poor, at the limit of the acceptable and very noisy in some moments.

The rooms should be renovated in order to get 5 stars. But in the end it's a good choice if you want to stay in Avignon without spending a fortune

This hotel was average at best. While the location is cute, albeit somewhat inconvenient if coming from the Avignon central train station (getting cabs is tough!), the hotel itself is old. Some might call it quaint but I got vertigo walking up the stairs they are on such a slant. Our room had sloped floors and barely had AC which was a struggle, especially at night. The faucet also made a high pitched squeaking all night which made it impossible to sleep. Bed was a rock with well-used throw pillows on it that appeared better suited to a dog bed. Breakfast is EUR10 pp which was worth it for the fresh fruit and coffee alone. Would not recommend unless you are looking for one step up from hostel.
