Visited this place after looking at the Google reviews and we were not disappointed!! Finding a parking space might be a problem but if it's not too busy then at the beach one should find a parking space. Our server Karla was great. The fish n chips was really good!! The Jumbo shrimps were really Jumbo...my lil one had a struggle biting into it!!! Overall the experience was good ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

This place is on fire! It has an amazing burgers with a LOT of vegetables inside. When Iโ€™m saying a lot it felt like someone really cared about my nutrition โœŒ๐Ÿผ Vegans & vegetarians you have a lot of options in the menu. We had also fish taco that was so fresh and tasty. The onion rings felt like a real onion rings and the fries was crunchy and good. Listen - if youโ€™ll be near by- go there. The service was so good - we had a waitress, her name was Julie and it was so hard not to fall in love with her. She was so nice and caring. The price was good - 20$ per each. Go there. Go there now!!

Their clam chowder in bread bowl is tasty. I added chopped green onion on top, and onion rings on the side. Fish and chips are good, too. Parking can be challenging, but it is worth trying here. They can use more mop for the floor, but they are a waking distance to the ocean, so I won't complaint ๐Ÿ˜‰.

I wanted so badly to give this place a 5-star rating, but I can't. Let me start at the beginning. Out front while waiting for our table we had fun with the vibe of that part of town. We felt safe and enjoyed the ambience. We were seated quicker than anticipated so we were stoked. Unfortunately, we were in the outer secondary part of the restaurant, so the sound was super loud and echoing in the big box of a room. The food was actually the hit or miss disappointment of the evening. The milkshakes were super tasty and come with the tin to keep refilling as you go. The salads were dialed in with tasty house dressing. And my daughter ordered the jumbo shrimp which was perfect for her. Unfortunately the tacos missed the mark, and the burgers were overpriced and not that good. Such a bummer not to leave here feeling satisfied. Other reviewers seemed to like it, so maybe we give it another try the next time we are in town, and try to get seated in the main dining area, and order something different from the extensive menu.

Delish! Valerie was a great waitress, the sweet potato fries were so good. My husband loved his truck-tip sandwich and I had a Turkey club. Soo good. The kids even tore up their grilled cheese. We love this place and the old diner atmosphere ๐Ÿ’œ

I cannot believe that I have ignored this location and walked past it several times I am ashamed of myself. I thought it was just a whatever spot but no. Their hamburgers are phenomenal! The shapes are great as well and also The sweet potato fries ! The only thing I didn't like was the wait time and I do understand that they don't have a lot of employees but other than that please do not skip this spot especially if you have children. there milkshakes are great and cherable.

A super convenient spot close to the beach. So many options to choose off the menu. I recommend the Don Ho burger, has a great Hawaiian sauce. The service was quick and portions were big. They also had many options on the kids menu.

Came here right near closing and the staff was very welcoming. Great diner style food with wonderful looking milkshakes. We had a burger, baked potato and mozerlla sticks and everything was good with a reasonable price. I'd recommend this place for a family looking for dinner or anyone looking for a nostalgic American diner experience.

I used the take out window and ordered a fish sandwich and order of fish tacos to go. The woman taking the order was sweet as pie but the bill was over $40 for under par no frills (drinks or sides) food. I would expect a couple of wow meals at that price. Burger King would have been a better choice.

During our recent Pismo trip, my wife and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Cool Cat Cafe. With a cool '50's diner motif, the Cool Cat Cafe boasts many menu items. The bar is prominent with multiple screens for sports. The restaurant was moderately busy for a Monday at 7pm, but we were seated quickly with no wait. We started off with an order of "Frings" (1/2 basket of onion rings + 1/2 basket of fries). My wife ordered the "Betty Boop" (BLT + mayo on grilled sourdough), and I ordered the "Graffiti Grill" (grilled cheese on sourdough and I added ham). We weren't terribly hungry so both of our menu choices were fairly light. The food was served quickly and service was very good. All in all, a good comfort food restaurant with a great atmosphere, a bit noisy, but reminiscent of the old '50's soda shops and restaurants. Recommended.

Cute retro vibes to this restaurant. The staff was very inviting and friendly. The chili was amazing and I highly recommend it. It was very filling. Iโ€™ve never thought of having rice with chili before but it was a great combo.

Great little beach side Cafe! The food was surprisingly good for what it appeared. I had the blackened Mahi Mahi and everything on the plate was great! The little cup of salsa was amazing, I forget what it was called. They should sell that in jars!

The food is pretty delicious. The fish and chips were very tasty and the fish was perfectly crisp to my taste. I also like the burgers but you have to pay $1.50 to get grilled onions. I have to say the milkshake is very very good but it is too expensive. The waiters are very funny and nice. The tables are very clean but watch out for fries on the ground.

Everything was great! Even though they were seemingly busy, we easily got in for a table for two. Our server and host were friendly and the food very tasty- we had the fish tacos, coleslaw and sweet fries with garlic aoli. So good!

When someone says: โ€œwant a shake?โ€ My answer is an ecstatic: โ€œAbsolutely!โ€ So I keep things simple. Western chicken sandwich, and the grasshopper shake. Where Iโ€™m from- not many places have flavors like mint in their shake lineup. And everywhere I go, I always have to try their version of a shake. Did not disappoint, no, it was incredible, it was visually appealing from the beginning and the taste perfectly matched that beauty. The diner is perfectly situated near the pier so it was a quick walk over. The staff are friendly and quick to get us to tables. The chicken sandwich was delectable. If I were a local, Iโ€™d probably see myself in a booth every weekend for shakes and talking with friends.

A very fun retro diner restaurant in the heart of Pismo. Super kid-friendly with a decent kids' menu. We went on a Sunday for lunch and didn't have to wait for a table. Most people want seafood when they visit Pismo, so there was no line here. The host and our server were very nice. The restroom was fairly clean for as many people who must visit. There's a gift shop area near the restrooms where you can buy shirts. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and my husband got the bonanza (banzai?) burger. Both of our sandwiches had really soft white bread that eventually fell apart. The shake we had was delicious and the kids liked trying the chocolate coke. The food was good, but not mind-blowing. But I think the atmosphere, staff, and no wait makes it worth it to go to. Especially if you have kids!

I loved the atmosphere, the service was good, even though the place was busy, but the food was fast. The burgers were good, their breaded calamari where way better than regular calamari, you can tell theyโ€™re fresh. The French fries was cold. If youโ€™re looking for a traditional American eatery, cool cat is the place.

This was a return visit after 3 years. It was a Friday afternoon about 4 pm and we were seated immediately. There was a choice of inside or outside seating. We took inside because most of the outside seating left was in the sun. We sat in the front section by the bar, which I found pretty noisy. Next time we will ask for a back room which is quieter. Last time there were 4 of us and the other 3 got hamburgers and I got the Chantilly Lace. It was wonderful and the others were envious. This time there were just 2 of us. My husband and I both got the Chantilly Lace and shared an order of fries. It looked the same as last time. First of all, it is huge, with no skimp on the ingredients. I didn't even try eating it sandwich style. I left off the top bun and used the provided knife and fork to eat it open face style. The only thing I wasn't satisfied with this time was that the meat was sliced and then fried which made it dry, hard to cut, and a little greasy. It may have been the same way last time, but I don't remember. It would be better if it was sliced to order and not recooked. It still tasted great. The fries were hot and tasty. Service was fast and the servers were attentive.

The staff is very friendly, and our server was the best! The menu had variety, and the food was good! Nothing TOO special, but my family and I had a pleasant time!

Nothing beats some freshly made fish tacos and a couple of beers on a beautiful sunny beach day. This place has an excellent outside patio a block away from the pier. The fish tacos were incredible, fresh, crispy on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. Generous sized portions, and the sweet potato fries were the icing on top. Prices werenโ€™t too bad for California. This is my go to spot whenever Iโ€™m in the area.
