Hidden gem within 'The Land' full of history and grandeur. If you love art and classic architecture, then you should visit. Almost all of the major streets in Cleveland have been named after prominent people buried here. The greatest treasure of them all is the James A. Garfield Monument, which is currently being restored. It should be completed in time for the 2020 season.

One of my very favorite places in Cleveland, Lake View Cemetery is a gem. Yesterday I ate at the picnic table right beside President Garfield's tomb. If you haven't been, it is definitely worth the visit.

If you haven't seen any other famous world cemetery, and at the same time have nothing else to do in Cleveland then come here. The cemetery is in the eastern suburbs, some 15-20 min drive and apart from it, you have nothing else to do in the area. The cemetery is nicely landscaped and well maintained with some beautiful graves and monuments like the Haserot Angel and famous historical figures like President Garfield and Rockefeller buried there. However, only in the US much more interesting are the New Orleans cemetery and the Springfield, IL where President Lincoln is buried - let alone Pierre Lachaise in Paris or Recoleta in Buenos Aires.

Very impressive and beautiful cemetery. Tons of mausoleums, monuments and graves of some well known public figures. John D. Rockefeller, lawman Eliot Ness, the man that created the term "rock and roll" Alan Freed (even placed one of my guitar picks on his tombstone), President James Garfield's "castle", and comic book writer Harvey Pekar just to name a few. Very tranquil and peaceful locale. Was even greeted by a mom and two younger deer while visiting.

Such a beautiful place. This cemetery tells the story of Cleveland's history. This is truly a must see in Cleveland. During the day you can go in James A. Garfield's memorial. So many other notable people are buried here as well including Elliott Ness, John D. Rockefeller, and so many others. Check out the Angel of Death (pictured here) as well as Alan Freed's Jukebox headstone (also pictured here) asking so many others.

I've been to many cemeteries, this is by far the most beautiful. The grounds are immaculately kept, the entire place is stunning. Stop by the Wade Chapel to see the mosaics and the Tiffany stained glass. I know during my last visit, they were fixing up the Garfield Memorial, so we didn't get to go in, but it looked like they were doing a great job. When the Garfield Memorial is open, I recommend going in, especially to see the views from the parapet, you really can see the lake from there. Among many other esteemed folks laid to rest here, Eliot Ness has a memorial near the pond. The Haserot Angel is another notable memorial. A day spent here is not wasted.

Lakeview Cemetery is a quite interesting sight to visit in Cleveland. Despite being a cemetery, if you think there aren't any graveyards there, the place really feels like a park or a hiking trail and is calming too. One thing to note though is that no biking allowed inside the cemetery. Driving is.

This is a very beautiful and historic cemetery. We walked around a bit before heading to the daffodil hill area. Highly recommend viewing the flowers when they are at peak, around mid-April.

What a beautiful and peaceful place to walk and enjoy some history . Had a very helpful sexton show us a couple spots and gave us a map of some key places and gravesites to visit . It would have been helpful to have those maps in a place visitors to pick up and better signage to know when you could visit inside Presidential burial place .

One of the biggest cementries in Cleveland, Ohio Area. Has such ornate tombs and the trees look so beautiful when they are blooming flowers. Its such a relacing place where you can visit to either connect with your long lost loved ones or Nature. The cementry flora is always maintained by the gardeners and people taking care of the trees. And Tomb of the president is magnificent.

This cemetery is so pretty! It's really half park-half cemetery. Dogs are allowed which is really nice. Near the two ponds there's a pathway that goes through the woods next to a little creek, it's really pretty especially in the fall.

This is the most beautifully manicured cemetery I've ever been to, which is a lot. This is gorgeous in every season but late spring or fall are the most incredible with the colors.

Beautiful grounds, mostly well maintained. We visited to see some of the famous graves and walk around. Bring a pen for Harvey Pekar.

A great place to look at some elaborate tombs and mausoleums. Rockefeller and Garfield sites are easy to find. If you are looking for Scofield (architect behind the Soldiers and Sailors monument in downtown Cleveland as well as the Ohio State Reformatory where Shawshank Redemption was filmed) his mausoleum is located near Wade Chapel across the street from the pond.

It’s Beautiful! I looked all over for the weeping angel memorial last weekend and could not locate it. Can someone tell me where in there it’s located? No one there knew anything about it.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Very well kept. Great place to visit to see all of the unique architecture. You could spend days here and not see it all. Very impressed.

Only negative I can think of is getting lost. I think small markers pointing to the exits would help a ton but otherwise very beautiful place and well maintained.

Visiting this cemetery is a serene experience. It provides beautiful views, walking paths, and history to explore. People visiting are typically respectful and kind, making it a great place to visit.

This place was amazing! I was in town for one day and had to see. I took an uber here and only had 40 minutes to look around and take pictures. The security guard Vincent made sure I was out in time and didn't get locked in. I was chatting with him for a little and the history he knew was amazing! Made my experience that much better! I wish I had more time to talk with him. He was such an amazing person! Thank you Vincent!!
