A little over a year ago I would have given 5 stars easy. We have been going here for about 5 years. The dentists and staff are great overall, with one or 2 new faces that are not as great as Dr. Camp and some of the other long term staffers. Even the new dentist is good. On the other hand, the last couple visits have been unpleasant, due to front desk staff and insurance/ billing issues. Between my wife and I we hold 2 dental insurance policies for our kids, yet I was asked for a payment for preventive services, which are 100% covered. The young lady could not clearly explain what coverage she was seeing so I paid. Fast forward to our next visit, and this time my wife takes our sons in for a regularly scheduled cleaning. The visit is pleasant as usual for my sons but she is asked for payment of a few hundred dollars with the receptionist speaking about an outdated policy. My wife explained to her that preventative services are covered at 100%, and ultimately called our insurer for clarity. She left without having to pay. Lastly, I’m a medical practitioner, my wife is a science teacher and we support medical safety. However, the Covid policies here are outdated and outside of current CDC recommendations or guidelines. They are still temperature scanning, and will not allow parents to sit with their kids while receiving treatment in the afternoon. They have chosen to enforce policy rather than consider patient/ family preferences of supporting their children. We still go to the practice because my sons love them but some of the small policies and front desk staff make us think to consider other options.

Update #2: I gave this dentist office back a fair rating. Not only did the dentist reach out to me personally to apologize and I missed it, she sent a check back for the procedure we paid for. I am very appreciate of that because she didn’t have to do that. This really is a nice, clean office with a helpful staff. My only suggestion is ask follow up questions, be thorough and gain clarity. Update: As much as I really loved this dentist, I had to find a new one to take my kid to. She ended up having to get a procedure. I booked the appt, confirmed it, showed up with my kid and they performed the wrong procedure...... The one I didn’t want because that one consisted on two parts and I know how hard my schedule was to get in for the second appt. Then this procedure costs more but instead of saying, “we’re so sorry about this, you won’t have to pay the remainder since it’s not the surgery you signed up for anyway”, they just said “oh we’ll apply what you paid for this procedure to the other and your remaining will be ___”. Again, for a procedure we didn’t want!! I didn’t even take my child back. We found another place that verifies exactly what they’re doing and asks questions and are thorough before just doing what they want to do. If you’re just doing check ups and the fun stuff, have at it. But if you’re having to book a procedure, please rethink!! This is the BEST dentist office for kids, ever. My daughter actually enjoyed coming to her appointments. The staff is friendly. The place is always clean, even before Covid! And the dentist is sooooo good with kids. Patient, kind and understanding. I will continue to use her even though we’ve moved pretty far away. ✨😁

I love this place. The staff is amazing and took great care of my son. My son had a bad experience at this first visit to a dentist and was terrified every time we mentioned it. My niece told us about Decatur Camp.❤️❤️❤️

Dr. Camp and her staff are wonderful. We have been seeing her for about 2 years. They make my shy son very comfortable and explain every step to him so that he knows what to expect and isn’t scared. Highly recommend.

Hands down the best dentist ever. My girls are actually excited to go to their appointments and we always leave with smiles on our faces. Dr. Camp and the entire staff are so warm and welcoming. They’re like the Disney of dentists — seriously. Love them!!

My first experience was terrible. I scheduled an appointment on August 22nd. I requested an afternoon appointment on the 22nd so my son would not miss school. The rep said this type of appointment is only scheduled during the morning. I received the welcome email and completed the paperwork last night. When I arrived at 9:30am, I was informed that they are not accepting new delta dental patients and I asked since I’m here can I pay cash, I was told no by the practice manager. The practice manager said you cannot pay cash because we may see you and then you could go back and file a claim with Delta Dental. This was a complete waste of my time. The manager stated that we request you fill out the paperwork 3 days in advance, I’m attaching a picture of your own welcome email, there is nothing in the message that indicates that. Typically at any other Doctors office, the insurance details or self pay discussions are at the time of scheduling. The customer service was terrible and they did not take any ownership on their scheduling process. I would think this should be discussed prior to the appointment. My son missed 2 hours of school for nothing and I had to pay to park.

Love Dr. Camp! Very patient, friendly, and courteous. She explains the entire process to her patients (and parents) and makes them feel comfortable as she about perform the procedure(s). Her staff is very courteous as well. Love the office and that it is always clean and up to date and very welcoming. Never had a bad encounter anytime I've visited. Definitely recommend them as your pediatric dentist and give them a 5star rating.

First time visit and an extremely smooth and pleasant experience overall. The office was clean and kid-centric. The staff were all sensitive to my sons ASD and explained what was happening throughout our visit as requested. Great experience

Dr Camp gave my daughter the most personal one on one appt after having a toddler meltdown. She did her full cleaning herself when she did not have to! The staff was also on point!! I’m so happy I found this practice!
