During
a
recent
visit
to
The
Flying
Biscuit,
a
vibrant
café
nestled
on
a
bustling
street,
my
wife
and
I
had
a
fairly
mixed
experience.
The
exterior's
colorful
ambiance
seamlessly
extends
to
the
interior,
creating
a
lively
and
welcoming
atmosphere.
The
service
was
commendable;
our
waitress
displayed
remarkable
friendliness,
and
we
were
seated
without
much
delay.
Our
order
consisted
of
coffee
and
hot
tea,
which
were
served
promptly,
a
positive
start
to
our
meal.
For
breakfast,
I
chose
the
Egg-stravaganza
while
my
wife
opted
for
Steak
and
Eggs.
The
café's
vibe
was
exceptional,
greatly
enhanced
by
an
excellent
selection
of
music.
However,
my
enthusiasm
waned
when
it
came
to
the
food.
While
the
grits
were
creamy,
they
were
regrettably
oversalted.
Both
the
sausage
and
bacon
suffered
from
overcooking,
detracting
from
the
overall
enjoyment
of
the
meal.
The
highlight,
not
surprisingly,
was
the
biscuit
paired
with
toast,
elegantly
topped
with
crème
anglaise
and
raspberry
drizzle
-
a
delightful
combination
of
flavors.
Despite
the
shortcomings
in
our
main
dishes,
the
positive
aspects
of
The
Flying
Biscuit,
like
the
atmosphere
and
service,
make
us
open
to
giving
it
another
try.
Hopefully,
on
our
next
visit,
the
breakfast
offerings
will
better
match
the
high
standards
set
by
the
other
elements
of
this
eclectic
café.
