The market is specifically there for students living in the area. Ifite has many lodges for students of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. This prestigious institution is situated very close to Ifite and has a gate there. So the 1st market is one of the small markets there for the students. Majority of the items on sale are food items, although one can find tailoring shops, hair salons and boutique nearby.

An average market that provides goods that can better human life. One can get practically get every basic thing needed for human survival including food items and household equipments and utensils there. In addition, the prices of goods here are quite affordable.

First Market is a small market along the Ifite UNIZIK Road. Because of the market there, the area is dirty and also the market sometimes obstructs smooth vehicular movement.

1st market has food items and fruits, fresh and affordable. There are also many available options for each item you seek. The only downside is that the roads are narrow and a bit bad causing traffic for motorists

I don't know why everything is expensive in the east. The pricing is way higher than anywhere else and it's really just a roadside market so you might not be able to find some things that you are searching for.

A busy road intersection between Ifite Road and Western Meloch Drive in Ifite-Awka in the Awka capital city. First Market consists essentially of adjoining lines of lockup shops on either sides of the road with a major Anglican church and a village square nearby. It draws its population from the nearby Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, about three kilometers away. Shops here sell foodstuff, stationery and general articles. Of course, you cannot discount the beauty shops, computer business centres and restaurants. Not a big market really, but a neighbourhood park where people dash to pick essential foodstuff to cook their meals. Residents of the area in need of serious shopping still have to resort to Eke Awka.

Road along first market is usually very busy especially morning and evening hours maybe because of intersection or how the road is structured.
