🔘The
Pyramid
of
the
Niches🔘
⚫Located
in
El
Tajín
a

archeological
site
in
southern
Mexico.
⚫This

of

including
El
Tajín,
Pyramid
of
Papantla,
Pyramid
of
the
Seven
Stories
and
the
Temple
of
the
Niches.
⚫Archaeologists
speculate
that
the
temple
was
built
sometime
between
1100
and
1150
CE
when
El
Tajin
was
at
the
height
of
its

⚫It
once
contained
exactly
365
niches,
marking
its
connection
to
the
solar
year.
⚫The
Pyramid
of
the
Niches
has
a
square
base,
36
meters
(118
feet)
on
each
side.
⚫It
features
six
stories
(originally
seven,
but
it
was
destroyed
over
the
centuries),
each
of
which
is
3
meters
(10
feet)
high.
⚫The
total
height
of
the
Pyramid
of
the
Niches
in
its
present
state
is
18
meters
(about
60
feet).
⚫El
Tajín
flourished
from
600
to
1200
CE
and
during
this
time

were
built,
although
it
is
unclear
who
built
the
city.
⚫It
was
discovered
in
1785.

is
rising
from
a

⚫The

access
to
the

of
the
pyramid
is
via
a
double
staircase
on
the
east
side
,
the
top
of
the
pyramid
contains
two
platforms.
⚫Between
the
two
sets
of
staircases
on
the
first
level
on
the
east
side
there
was
a
tall
column-line
sculpture
that
had
been
thrown
down
from
the
top
of
the
pyramid
in
ancient
times
and
broken.

⚫Today
we're
going
to
talk
about
the

,
it
was
called

that
because
two

⚫This

⚫It
has
been
determined
that
this
was
the

of
the

for
a

here
that
