Lovely outdoor railway museum a short train ride from Selcuk. It seems appropriate to go there and back by train. Lots of engines from various origins that have been used in Turkey so some from England, Sweden, France, the USA and Germany for example. Restaurant within the grounds looked and smelt good! 50 lira entrance fee for adults. Really nice day out

Open air steam train museum closed due to the zombie apocalypse 🚫🚂💨🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️🧟 I don't know much about health and science but if you have a museum outside it seems to me that would virtually be Rona proof... Much like all the other ruins that are outside and are open to the public with virtually no restrictions.... Unless of course you're the owner of a beautiful train museum and are absolutely petrified of your own shadow or a virus with a 99.98% survival rate..... Then of course you keep the museum closed 🤷‍♂️😂👻🤣 Sad really because y'all know how much I love old machines. I especially appreciate antique steam engines because in their day they were the workhorse that built the modern world we enjoyed today 💪 Since we weren't able to actually go in the museum across the street we found what used to be the locomotive engineers house... Today it sits abandoned with the roof collapsed in but with a bunch of train parts like wheels and pistons inside of the lean to garage. Across from the house are a few cranes that were used to unload train cars back in the day. Today they are sitting underneath the sun waiting for their turn to return back to nature from once they came 🌞🌦️🏚️⚙️👨‍🔧⚒️🔧🗜️🔩

One heck of an amazing place for any train lover! It has a fantastic collection of engines and wagons of all sizes and types, displayed in such a way it’s easy and comfortable to go from machine to machine, where you’re always one step away from simply getting into one. The elements haven’t been too kind to the machines themselves, but nevertheless it’s a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Very interesting. I can recommend it. You can also climb on some locomotives. I had never seen so many locomotives at once before. You should plan at least 45 minutes for this.

Open Air Museum with late 1800's era steam locomotives from German, England and French origins. Snow plowing, railroad maintenance and crane cars are also stored at the area. There is also a private railcar dedicated and privately designed and build for Mustafa Kemal Ataturk Founder of Republic of Turkey, in the purpose of inspections of Western Manuevers. The museum has restaurant for breakfast and dinner options, and at very good sightseeing location to bring small children and dogs, which annoyed at the long road to Bodrum.

If you are interested in the steam locomotives of Turkey, there is a lot to see, but the state of some exhibits (all static) shows a need for further investment in improving their condition. Nobody is present, working on them and the information displayed is limited to a short list of the locomotives' main data (but it is in English). They charge a modest entrance fee and then leave you to your own devices. There is a cafeteria, but we were charged TL25 for a cup of 'çay'. We didn't eat there.

Excellent facility! At least 25 locomotives and numerous other cars. Turntable has 18 locomotives around it. Our group had a nice lunch on the grounds, watched carefully by the museum 's 2 or 3 dogs. Service is friendly and has good English. Clean restrooms.

We went for breakfast as a family. The food and drinks are delicious and of high quality. There is a friendly and attentive service. If you are looking for quality food in a quality place, this is the place. It also has food service and service for groups. Reservations are required. Thanks for everything🙏

Not all trains can be boarded. The entrance fee is very expensive, 250 lira. It would be nice if the interior decoration of the first trains could be done and you could go inside. I would like to see the old tickets. There are no small items

These are all old steam locomotives Turkey purchased and used for decades. There are 20ish trains and passenger cars to explore. Many of them are open so you can climb into the cabs and check them out. There are in various states of disrepair, but it is a great place to come and spend an hour or so. It is a must-see place in terms of history, but it would be better if the trains were maintained.

I visited this outdoor museum in 2013 and enjoyed it. If staying in Selçuk, ride the regional train up the hill to Camlik to see the museum, take a picnic lunch, and return on the Dolmuş. Enjoy the history of Turkish steam engines!

Great fun! We greeted with a smile and handshake by Fikret he is a gentleman. He showed us to the restaurant for breakfast which was excellent. British, French, German, Czech and USA Locomotives around 33. Carriages including one of Ataturks private saloons. The steam locomotive number 45501, which was involved in the Yarımburgaz train disaster as part of the Orient Express, is exhibited in the museum. The head-on collision in 1957, with its death toll of 95, is the deadliest train accident in Turkey

We came late after our friends and they took our order right away! The wait was not too long and the service was perfect. I really liked the chicken. My favorite part was the tomato and the oignon. There were both grilled and the taste was amazing. If you come by, I do recommend going there! P.S: There are some friendly dogs and cats, they make the place more pleasant!

Took our 2 grandson's aged 9 and 10 who love trains. They loved that they could climb on them and walk inside them. There is alot of old trains and carriages for them to explore. The only thing is that if want a drink at the end in the cafe on site beware of the prices. We had 2 waters and 2 small cokes which originally he said 280tl i queried it and then he said 180tl still expensive and then when he came with our change it had gone up to 190tl. Will not be buying a drink in tjere again but definitely worth a visit to the trains.

Much more impressive than it looks from the pictures. It's like the NRS turned up to 11, with sun. Locos from all over the world, too many to count. And it costs peanuts too. If the cafe isn't open ( we went early), the (very turkish) place across the road is good for a coffee, and speaks great sign and point language.

Very interesting place to visit, especially with a child. Snow-ploughs were something I've never seen before.

A must see museum on that region. Good place to see old tech. Downside is there is no cafe or restaurant, so be aware that you would not find a place to get some rest. Completely open air, no shades. Better to visit at morning times for a relativley comfortable and long visit.

This museum could be so much better, there are probably 25 or so steam trains from around 1920-30. But they are in poor condition and not being maintained or restored. You are allowed to climb onto the engines but they are becoming a health and safety risk with rotting wood and rusting metal. You need to be supple to climb onto the first rung of the ladders as there are no platforms. The cost is advertised as 5 euros each however we were only charged 4. We spent around 45 minutes looking around.

👍 Not a huge amount of things to see and do but it's very enjoyable all the same. It's separate from the main Ephesus site and is free to enter. It's not hugely popular but there are still food and drink outlets right by the pathway, souvenirs too. I think it's worth the effort myself although some ma...
