Oh boy, let me tell you about the time I visited the “SURAXANI” GƏMİ-MUZEYİ! It was an absolute blast! Picture this: an excursion filled with captivating facts, mind-blowing digital and physical interactions, and a treasure trove of fascinating examples and exhibits. I mean, who wouldn’t love diving headfirst into a sea of history and maritime wonders? But you know what made it even better? Our amazing guider! She was the friendliest person you could ever meet. With her warm smile and infectious enthusiasm, she made the entire experience feel like a thrilling adventure. And to top it all off, the excursion was conducted in Russian, making it easy for us to immerse ourselves in the rich tales and anecdotes. If you’re looking for a journey that combines education, entertainment, and an incredible guide, then “SURAXANI” Ship Museum is the place to be! Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Nice museum. Beautiful exhibition. Welcoming personal. The tour guide was rushed and uninterested in telling the story. Children will be happy to visit this place.

Museum itself is perfect, very informative and interesting tour, lots of amazing artefacts. Regretfully, the area just around the ship is very dirty. Management should clean out this mess and keep the environment tidy.

Modern, very informative museum. Completely worth it if you have even a passing interest in maritime, engineering or oil history. Lots of interactive exhibits, kids would love it.

Perfect museum very good for kids. Has a lot of activities. You always want to spend more time there. Wish it had more russian or english explanations. Audioguide does not cover 100%. But really, good job, museum is amazing. Something I wish I had visited as a child

It can be a little crowded but the slideshows are great to watch. The woman who was guiding us was well knowledgeable as well

The museum itself is simply excellent! It is clear that it was created with love and care. But I'm taking off stars for the attitude of the guide and the cashier! They refused to conduct a tour in Russian; they gave us 2 audio guides, one of which did not coincide with the points. We tried to listen one at a time, but the information on it is not complete, they say, read at the stands, where everything is only in Azerbaijani and English. When they tried to tell the cashier that the dots were missing, he freaked out and tried to prove the opposite. The guide didn’t even take us to the first point (note that it is to the left of the main door to the museum and has a separate entrance. Until we asked, they didn’t take us there!). In general, he opened the doors to the museum, invited us to enter without saying anything, simply closed it behind us and left. Then we just tried to navigate ourselves. There are many halls, everything is interesting. I recommend visiting the museum. But you need to have a conversation with the staff!

Interesting modern museum. There are various interactive games. Models of the entire Azerbaijani fleet and port, in general, fly away;) it’s better to get tickets on iticket, where you can find out the time in advance, because Entry is strictly on time.

Admission ticket is 2 manats for students and 5 manats for adults. Must-go place of Baku.

Great experience! The museum is very informative and interactive. There are games, simulators, info desks, audio help in addition to the guide who explains the whole thing. They do not rush and give you enough time. We were asked on multiple occasions if they should replay in English. But the boards had enough information for us to follow. We also interacted with student volunteers. It's nice they want to know about our culture and love their own. We came across a school trip and kids were screaming welcome to Azherbhaijan.. This isn't directly related to the museum but that was such a warm welcome. They also have a restaurant which is super classy sailing themed. Food is good too.

We visited the restaurant located in the museum. We ordered fried eggplants, san sebastian cake, tea, and nuts. Everything except for the cake was good. We were there at night and the atmosphere was awesome. The waiters did not disturb us. A good place for a date night or a meet up with friends!

A unique place - the world's first tanker museum from 1957! After a 2-year renovation, it was turned into a wonderful interactive museum! There is so much you can tell about it, about oil production in general, there are quite a lot of interesting exhibits with history.....if you just want to talk about it...the ticket price includes an excursion, but my strong advice: pay extra for the audio guide (the ticket itself costs 5 manats per adult, I can’t tell you about the cost of the audio guide). Because the girl guide is doing you a huge favor by rattling off obvious information to you without any details. No smile, no normal rate of speech, no professional answers to our questions about the tanker, no polite waiting while we examined at least some of the exhibits. The whole excursion (about 1.15-20) there is a feeling that we are superfluous here, that we need to finish with us quickly, since “my next guests have already arrived.” Very sad, unpleasant and insulting for the museum.
