Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Preserve Museum

Tourist attraction Museum

👍 The road to this museum has been paved since the last time I was there on Feb 2023. So you can in fact drive here or hire a taxi to get here all the way now. There is no need to change taxi at the town of GOBUSTAN or get a jeep or 4wd according to a lot of blogs.

It's a nice place to go to and I learned a lot about different petroglyphs in the world. How humans evolved into what we are now and how they told their stories on walls was the most amazing thing.. You should visit this and the Qobustan mud volcanoes, both are excellent places to go to

Interesting display of history and artifacts. We were here with a private guide. Unfortunately it felt quite rushed even though we had seemingly an hour here. Non locals had to pay three times the price to get in.

Just awesome. It was very interesting and we liked the staff, they organize a very interesting tour. In my opinion, not only foreigners, but also local people should go at least once in their life.

Qobustan has its own soul! Touch the stones, you'll understand.

Dive into Stone age lifestyle in Qobustan by visiting the caves that were inhabited by our ancestors. Bang on the musical stone "Qaval dash" and make yourself heard! You can also visit the modern two story museum where you can get more information about the prehistoric way of life.

Nice museum with a good explanation of the history of the area. Because it’s small it feels crowded easily and can get loud but otherwise it’s a nice excursion to learn about the ancient history of the area.

Amazing place. Feel the spirit of petroglyphs created by prehistoric people.
