We were here about a month back (Mid june) and we were blown away by how surreal this place is! This is my first time at a waterfall (yes, shocker) and I absolutely loved it and couldn't get myself to leave! The waterfall, the trek that leads to it, everything was just so perfect! It became the highlight of our vagamon trip <3 We created some awesome memories there and we hope you do too!💕 Also, I'd suggest you visit this place around 12 pm as the crowd is less during that time and you can get some private pool time and some amazing photos for the 'gram!💃🏻

A hidden gem for sure. There were literally no one on the spot at my time of visiting. It was raining heavily before 2 days of my visit and the waterfall was on a great flow. Loved the small trek and atmosphere. It is somewhat difficult for elderly people to reach the waterfalls. Please carry water and do not litter 🚯 . You can see many warnings to avoid getting into water and please do obey the rules. Avoid going to the waterfalls on a rainy days.

Absolutely mesmerizing⛲. The view of this place is just amazing. The place is located at a short distance from main town. There's no parking or anything for your vehicle so keep that in mind. You have get down and do a ~300m trek🚶🏽‍♂️ to reach the waterfall. You can see beautiful streams along with massive boulders along the path. I would say you should visit in early December when there's good amount of flow. Visiting anywhere between January to April ☀️is not recommended. And always be alert and careful while walking. The rocks can be slippery or loose. Plus since it's a rain-fed stream, the chances of water level changing with weather is high! Definitely not a good idea to bring young kids. But you should definitely do visit this waterfall and relax!

Marmala waterfalls is a beautiful waterfall hidden deep away from the buzzing of the town. It's simply beautiful and during the rainy season, it's full and you can sit for hours, relax and swim! I even jumped off from the top of a huge boulder there.. when the water level was lower but deep enough for the jump! BUT BUT, MIND YOU, this place has risks! During rainy season, the rocks can become slippery and the entrace or the path to this waterfall becomes unsafe. You have to be very careful. The current is also very very strong! So stay away from it unless you are an expert swimmer. I've heard from people that there have been rockfalls from heights and also " ooril pottals " that have caused deaths! So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful! There are no life gurads or anyone to help you if you are all by yourself. So please be careful!

Beautiful place.. Must visit.. Notice at least 20 min walk to water fall.. And it's not easy to reach have steps and have to climb rocks in order to reach till end.. Locals warned that this place can be dangerous during rainy season as water flow can increase suddenly without warning.. Please be aware..

Marmala Waterfalls are undeniably beautiful, a solid experience. The falls themselves are a sight to behold, and the refreshing waters are a treat. However, it's important to be cautious while enjoying the waters. But there are no public toilets nearby. Additionally, during the monsoon season, the falls become even more spectacular but can be dangerous. Nevertheless, it's a worthwhile visit for nature enthusiast.

If you have ever been to Theekoy or even Erattupetta, marmala waterfall is a must-visit. I wouldn't suggest it for older people who have trouble walking as you have to go through a little forest area to get there. And it's that experience that makes it even more wonderful.

Amazing experience. I think many dont know that there is a beautiful waterfall like this on the way to vagamon. Really good for family. Nice place to have a good bath. This is the best place for picnic for the teenagers. And we have to see the real beauty of nature on there. The marmala waterfall is very familiar and good time is April may months because of less waterfall on there so we have less risky..this is the origin of meenachail river. One need to trek through private estate to reach this waterfall. The ambience around this waterfall is awesome. On the way to vagamon, there is a clear signboard showing Marmala waterfalls. But the 7 kms from the highway to the falls are just horrible. It's completely broken (hopefully under construction) and narrow. The water is nice and good for swimming. If you are going on a weekend or a holiday, expect crowd, which makes it a bit inconvenient. This is less known hidden treasure. This is located on the way to illikkal kallu. It is a small water fall. The travel toi this place is bit offroad and you have to walk little bit. less crowded. and calm and silent place

Best weekend tourist spot with family or friends. Trekking and bathing locations. Bathing in falls not possible. It’s deep there. Many places on the way we can bath. Only an ice cream shop in parking area. No other shops nearby. Especially no mobile signal in this area.

It's a great place to enjoy a holiday with friends. Visitors are very low. Great fresh mountain water with a super ambiance. The path to the waterfall is a little dangerous but to reach the top a bit of trekking is required.

Marmala Waterfalls in Kerala is a hidden gem of natural beauty. Surrounded by lush greenery, the cascading waterfalls offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The journey to reach Marmala may be a bit challenging with winding roads, but the destination is worth the effort. The waterfall itself is a sight to behold, with its pristine waters plunging down into a pool below. Visitors can take a refreshing dip in the cool waters and feel rejuvenated. The surrounding forest is home to diverse flora and fauna, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and photographers. One downside is that the area can get crowded during weekends and holidays, so it's best to visit during weekdays for a more peaceful experience. Additionally, it's essential to follow all safety guidelines and respect the environment when visiting this natural wonder. Overall, Marmala Waterfalls is a must-visit destination for those seeking a tranquil and natural retreat in Kerala. The beauty of the falls and the surrounding wilderness make it a memorable experience for all who visit.

Beautiful place. would not recommend for families and kids and senior citizens. But perfect for adventure seeking youngsters. There are no safety mechanism around, make sure have access to ur own first aid and safety gear. Best to visit during monsoons. The roads leading here are good enough. You have to walk a short distance along slippery rocks to get to the base of the waterfall. Breathtakingly beautiful. Not very crowded.

Excellent waterfall and surrounding area. Please wear appropriate shoes as you may have to walk through small streams, some muddy patches, and some slightly slippery areas. Also, please bring a garbage bag and refrain from throwing trash in the area. If possible, please help clean the area by picking up others' trash. Thanks.

This waterfall is a offbeat location which can be accessed by foot only. Vehicles are allowed just 1 km before this place. A small trek through the forest will take you to this amazing place. Better to have a bath here when the water is minimal. For best experience, try visiting here during the monsoon

Visited on 17/4/22. It was 30km from vagamon city! Ride upto the waterfalls is good. It took us over 1hour to reach the place. Last stretch to the falls is by walk of 500m. The waterfalls itself is very scenic, and was probably of 90 to 100ft height. Would definitely recommend to friends and family, couples can avoid. There is a big pond where the falls is, kindly don't enter that as it is very deep. Locals suggested it was 20ft deep. Very nice place to visit! No tickets required. We went there by our own vehicle jeeps not required.

After driving through a narrow well maintained road you have to walk through bushes and trees for about 200m to teach the base of water fall. Better avoid wearing shoe because in some area you have to walk through a stream.

One of the best beautiful waterfalls I've seen. It is few kilometres away from vagamon town. Avoid bringing old age people because the way to waterfalls is filled with rocks, where you need to use your hands to climb the rocks it's not that much hard but it'll be difficult for old peoples. Don't drive car to the extreme end towords waterfalls it is difficult to take a u turn because of small road.they have blocked the road because landslide took half of the road with it. We can drive bike across it but not car. Avoid jumping inside the water to take bath or swim it is not advisable. Must visit spot near vagamon, visit with your friends, enjoy and burn some calories.

Excellent View during rainy season. Highly risky because rainfall on the mountain can cause sudden raise in the water level. Entry fee of 30/- has been added recently. Better to visit before 9 o clock and after 3.30 so that the day time scorching heat can be avoided. The attached photos are of a summer view on a sunny morning

Beautifull but a dangerous waterfall. The walk towards waterfall is equal dangerous. There is no clear path. You need find foot marks and go. So many big stones on the way and you have to climb and a huge chance for slipper. Once you reach waterfalls it's a beautiful nature gift .. there is a huge hole exactly the bottom of waterfalls around 15 to 20 feet depth where the water is extremely cold . The one who swimming over there can get muscle cramps within 2 to 5 mins swimming and go down to water. So many deaths happened there and notice board as well placed. Another thing is this water comming from vagamon side and any rains there can increase the water level here even you don't find any rain at water falls area. So you can mark the water level before entering to it and every 10 mins you can check the level as a safety measure. It's better to massage your legs and body in short intervals to aviod mucile cramps. Wish Have a safety trip

Marmala Waterfalls near Erattupetta showcase nature's beauty with cascading waters amidst verdant surroundings. The falls offer a serene atmosphere, making it a great spot for relaxation. While the trek to reach them can be adventurous, the scenic beauty and the soothing sound of the waterfall make it a worthwhile experience for nature enthusiasts.

One of the best place to enjoy with your friends and family. It’s relatively safe but you need to be careful when the water level is high.

Marmala Waterfalls in the midst of thick green cover in Kottayam district of Kerala is an absolute beauty. It is just a few kilometres away from the famous viewpoint ‘Illikkal Kallu’. Not an ideal place to visit for all except youngsters as one has to go past quite a few boulders and a mini trek to reach the waterfall. When we went, the road about a couple of kilometers away from the waterfall was washed away due to landslide. We had to park our car and take an auto. Not sure if the situation is still the same. A must visit place for travel enthusiasts but not for people of all age groups.

An absolutely beautiful waterfall. You have to walk a bit through the woods to reach the waterfall which is a pretty good experience. The waterfall has many layers so there is a lot to see. Not that safe to play in the water.

Visited Marmalla Waterfalls on July 1st, the water flow is too good and the views at the waterfalls are truly breathtaking. The cascading waters, surrounded by lush greenery is eye catching. The lack of proper directions can make it confusing and challenging to navigate the area. No entry fees, less crowded area. Marmalla Waterfalls has a history of accidents, with several reported cases of people losing their lives while attempting to enter in the falls.

One of the most memorable and beautiful waterfalls. No restrictions are imposed till date, and no tickets so far. Each and every explorer are responsible to maintain these conditions at marmala waterfalls. You can swim here anywhere at own risk, no dress changing facilities, no nearby shops and no signal as well. You can see the distant views of so many waterfalls on the way. Even though nature is giving all her beauty for our pleasure we are exploiting the same by dumbing waste in all those areas. Even all these disasters we are not ready to change, don't know how it is to be stopped.

Nature at its Best. Waterfalls will be very nice. But Be aware as it's tooo risky ....we can't judge the water falling level. When we went the water level was tooo less and suddenly it increased.
