We stayed during the protests 2022, and I’m blown away by the amazing hospitality these awesome people at Huasquila brought for our groups. They helped us safely enter and leave the protests, and Pablo (the owner) was a rockstar during our stay. He even helped us find transportation for the way back to Quito. Migel, our guide, is one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve come across in my life, and I learned so much about the indigenous people, the plants, animals, and villages through the hikes he brought us to. Even the people who cooked and brought out our food were extremely sweet, and I enjoyed the delicious 3-course meals during breakfast, lunch, and dinner (which are recipes from Pablo’s mom!). If you’re looking for an unforgettable stay at the Amazon - definitely go with Huasquila. The hot tub was hot, the food was delicious, the beers were cold, the rooms were clean each day, and the people were genuinely awesome. Thank you Pablo, Migel, and the rest of you all!

Let me start by saying if I could give this place a 10 instead of a 5 I would. Book this place withouta doubt in your mind. The beers were cold, the hot tub was mighty hot, and the rooms were redone EVERY SINGLE DAY. We visited during the protests in June 2022. Pablo the owner went well out of his way and bent over backwards to make sure we arrived and departed safely from his lodge. Not once did he complain about anything, he only offered sound solutions and made sure we learnt about the amazon and had a great time. The three course meals were very very tasty. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all prepared by Pablo's mom and team. The fried fish meal was my personal fav. Trust me when I say you can't go wrong with this place. Book it righ away 100 percent. Vamos Huasquila

This seems like a nice place for yoga and quiet family retreat. As for the bungalows nice over all but lacking new power outlets take the rest with a grain of salt as we are only staying one night and I’m not happy with the price I feel it is way over priced for Ecuador should be closer to $60.00 a night seeing how few amenities close to zero. You do get a good bed and nice room but I think for the price the lack of good Electric plugs and it lacks any place to keep your luggage open just an open space place to hang up your clothes. Questioning the path lighting did not see any but will find out come night.

Nice lodge with spacious bungalows to sleep at. Pool and hot tub are a nice plus even they could be in better shape. Cleanliness is very good in all the areas of the lodge but personnel were careless when using protective face masks while preparing drinks, food or waiting tables.(hence one of the reasons for the 3 stars) Breakfast and dinner were well prepared, varied, abundant and always served on time. Lunch could be purchased at the lodge but at a much higher price than at any restaurant in the area, which pushed us to go out and find any other place to eat. We found a wonderful one a couple of miles from Cotundo. (that is the other reason for the 3 stars rating) There are several activities to choose from, like night walks in the forest or tubing on the river, etc. (paid separately or included in a package) if you are up to it.

This is the perfect quaint Amazon Lodge. Rustic, yet comfortable and spacious rooms that are actually little cabins. This was better than expected, the setting is gorgeous and THE SINGING BIRDS are out of this world. So many beautiful sounds day and night with the birds and the frogs. The food was some of the best we had in all of Ecuador with COCONUT FLAN that was fantastic! The outdoor seating is incredibly relaxing next to the turtle pond and the little bar had great service. Thank You!

Beautiful area, quaint rooms, wonderful people & fun tours! Highly recommend. Javier was our tour guide & a joy to be around. I loved the waterfalls & learning about the different native plants and animals. Many are medicinal. I also was lucky to meet people from the local village and learn from them too. I had a lovely time :)

Delightfully rustic with nice comforts! Great food and service. Our casita was rustic, but had everything we needed and was clean. Mario was our guide over the 3 days. The best! We had multiple deep jungle walks, waterfall swims, boat trip on the Napo River, tubing on the Napo and a chocolate-making activity. Ask for Mario!

Amazon lodge…remote roads, lots of creatures, no Wi-Fi. Has a hammock. Perfect for the Amazon Jungle!

We visited during the protests in June 2022. Pablo the owner bent over backwards in every way possible to make sure we got through barricades, past protesters safely, had a comfortable place to stay, delicious food to eat, and an event packed stay at the lodge. He stayed up till the wee hours of the night to help us get transport out of the lodge back to the airport, and when plans fell through immediately found alternatives for us without skipping a beat. As a result we all made it to our next destinations on time and without any significant hiccups. As for the regular stay and services provided, the tour guide Miguel was phenomenal. He was extremely knowledgeable about the indigenous people and their culture. On top of that, he was pretty much a wildlife guru, stopping on the trail multiple times to point out rare and unique flora and fauna, and even spotting rare birds and giving us a story about each of the animals and plants we saw. The food was delicious and way better than we expected for a place that offered meals included with the stay. Each meal was at least a 3 course meal that involved home cooked meal recipes from Pablo's mother. All this despite the fact that supplies were being blocked by the multiple blockades on the highways. Each of the meals provided us an additional glimpse into traditional Ecuadorian cooking and flavors. On top of all I've mentioned above, there was also a pool, a hot tub, clean rooms with extremely comfortable beds and clean sheets which were a tremendously welcome reprieve from the days hikes and adventures. Each room also came with an outdoor hammock which came in handy during the breaks between activities. If I could I would give this place, Pablo, Miguel, and all the staff at Huasquila Lodge a 7/5. Highly recommend, a once in a lifetime experience you will not regret.

I can't say enough great things about our experience here. Our hosts at the Lodge were so accommodating and warm, the food was great, being immersed in the rain forest was unforgettable, & getting to meet and interact with the indigenous peoples of this area made it all perfect. One can't help but be affected, for the better, when you see how simply and harmoniously these beautiful, gentle people live with Mother Nature. So grateful to everyone at Huasquila Amazon Lodge for taking such amazing care of us. Mahalo 🤙🏽

Amazing! You won’t be disappointed. Food is delicious. Lodge is beautiful in the rain forest. I didn’t realize our booking included our own personal tour guide. Dario was fabulous. Ecuador and its people are beautiful.

Súper familiar place in the Amazon rainforest. My experience here was great. The staff is super nice and welcoming. I felt as part of their group from the first time. Asucena, the admin was really nice. Cecilia made sure everything was perfect for me. I am vegan and they bought special food for me and made it perfect. The best part are the tours with their local guides, I learned a lot about the local animals and plants. They taught me how to use medicinal plants and their effects. I didn’t enjoy the visit to the local community and the birds tour. But, that is my experience. Overall I recommend this place.

In early June I got to stay here for a couple of days. The lodges were beautiful and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I felt nicely immersed in the jungle while enjoying the comforts of home. We booked the rafting tour with Rios Ecuador through the lodge. The rafting guide, Jorge was knowledgeable and kept us safe. My only regret is that I didn't get to stay longer and experience more of what the lodge had to offer. I hear that I missed a waterfall on the grounds as well a spelunking adventure and multiple hiking opportunities. I would definitely return. I hope to return to see what I missed. I wish we had stayed for at least four days instead of just two.

I had a peaceful and wonderful experience staying at one of the cabins after visiting Misahualli. The main area has good phone reception.Meanwhile there are dead zones which are good if you’re trying to disconnect. You’re surrounded by the nature and with locals from the communities to show you the surrounding beauty and gems that the area has to offer. Cash is preferred here even though they say they accept card.
