I had a good time there. It is cheap, only 150 per person. I really enjoyed the fact that the animals have space and look well taken care care of. It has a dedicated playground for kids and the train ride is a whole trip; very fun. It can be a good workout if you choose to walk. I wish I could get closer to certain animals though.

Today I got to experience the Dominican Zoo for the first time. It was a beautiful day and I got to see animals in their beautiful environments thriving. It’s sad to know that unfortunately some of these animals are close to extinction. But to see them do well is heart warming. Their habitats are large and they seem to be happy. I hope this zoo grows and they are able to save more animals from extinction, so that someday they can return to their natural habitats.

Awesome zoo in Santo Domingo, there are plenty of things to do. You get to see must of the zoo on a trolley . I highly recommend you take the trolley instead of walking the entire zoo. The trolly driver will talk about all the animals in the zoo as you are passing by them. There a stands to purchase ice cream, drinks and food. Some of the attractions requires extra pay but is worth it.

The Zoo Dom was super nice actually. It was Definitely way better than what I expected! Fairly simple and small but worth the drive and the traffic. It’s quite Far out of the city but worth it. The entry is $150 pesos (as of June/2021). Mask are required. Once you pay there’s a short walk to the tram. On the tram they’ll give you a short tour of the area. Then you’ll be on your own. Nothing super exotic like elephant or giraffe. But they do have lions, tigers, cheetah, Buffalo, panther and more.

I didn't realize Santo Domingo had a Zoo. It was a great experience. Had some pretty decent animals given the location.

We waited for a long time for the train to take us around the park or so we thought. They took us for short ride and then left us in the middle of the park. The animals were clearly extremely hot, I didn't see food or water in many of the enclosures and they were pretty desert like. They lacked activities for the animals, greenery and something to make it exciting and attractive. The animals all looked very depressed. I would not visit again.

We did get made fun of at the Zipline station for not speaking great Spanish so we just kept on making our way around the zoo. No Zipline. Entrance fee is $150 pesos, I’m staying in central Santo Domingo so the Uber trip to the zoo was over 25min but it was worth it. Animals look healthy and they have space to roam.
