This area connect two states i.e Jharkhand and Odisha. If you want to go kiriburu, hilltop, bara jamda, kalianga, base camp, joda, nadi dih and other places . It is best place to reach such place. Hotels are also best . People are also cooperative, polite and well behaviour

Being one of the largest storehouses of iron and manganese in the country, Barbil is also known as Iron City. The semi-urban town is located on the banks of River Karo in the Kendujhar area of Odisha. Tourists can enjoy many adventure activities in the scenic surroundings of Barbil. Visiting Sanaghagara Waterfall through the hilly trail and verdant vegetation for a day outing is highly recommended for all thrill-seekers.

pros:A small rural station that has made connections with many big cities. Cons: There is no food shop next door.

Barbil station is now well maintained with propper sitting chairs for travellers along the station with electric fan overhead. Also there is separate waiting halls for travellers with basic amenities & smooth surface for easy carrying of luggage.. Station is surrounded by big redwood trees and a big banyan tree gives a very quite & peaceful natural feeling. There are small street vendors selling some useful stuffs. No proper restaurant or hotel can be found near it. Good hotels and restaurants can be easily found from few KM of it like luckyindia. The area around Barbil has a number of private iron ore mines. The Barbil-Joda region is the highest iron ore-producing region in the country.

The Barbil railway station connects the town of Barbil to Chaibasa, Tatanagar and even Howrah. The two main train to ply on this route are the Tatanagar-Gua passenger train and the Howrah-Barbil Jan-Shatabdi. The Jan Shatabdi leaves Howrah at 6:00 a.m. in the morning and reaches at 1:00 p.m. On the return journey the Jan Shatabdi leaves Barbil at 1:35 p.m. and reaches Howrah at 9:50 p.m. The Barbil railway station has one platform and two shades on the platform. This station also has a ticket counter dispersing reserve and reserve tickets to the passengers. You will also find several mobile stall just outside the station entrance selling tea, snacks, Pan etc. Some local transport vehicles such as auto rickshaws and trekkers/bolero are also available outside the station gate for the passengers who do not have their own vehicle. Apart from the two passenger trains some goods trains ferrying iron and manganese ore also pass through the Barbil railway station which is also called as the Barbil railway siding. You will see iron ore stacked near the Barbil railway station to be transported by the goods trains. Although this station is an important connectivity node in this part of the country, one gets an impression that the maintenance and upkeep of the station can definitely be improved.

A natural area invaded by the Indian Railways! But the best part still in vogue is that one can cool oneself down by sipping "Raashi" just outside of the station!
