Great Place to stay in the desert. 1. they will pick you up in the nearby town and drive like 30 across the desert. 2. the camp is really in the desert, you will have a great view on the stars. 3. part of the trip ist going up the dunes for sunset. 4. food is really good. 5. you can stay at the camp fire, have some Tee and talk to the owners. Great people.

This place is amazing. Off the grid. Great shared, ablution facilities. Authentic huts , surrounded by desert dunes with stunning starry skies. Excellent catering and cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended.

A friendly camp that benefits from simplicity. There's no generator or air conditioning to disturb the stillness of the desert, and you can sleep outside if it's too hot in the huts. The food is good and the family that runs the camp offer a warm welcome and a range of activities.

Liked the camp location, food & accomodation. Nicola is extremely helpful & kind. Dune bashing organized in the camp was awesome. However, during a camel ride, they hit the camel when it got scared by a bulldozer nearby. So, I am not giving this 5*. Review written by a 7yo.

A lovely family run business in the most breathtaking location! Humied and Ahmed are extremely personable and funny, making all visitors feel like part of their family, full of stories and jokes, they even took the time to teach us Arabic words and phrases. The food was fresh and very delicious, the Arabic coffee and dates tasty and plentiful. The sunrise camel ride with Sultan was an unforgettable experience, well worth the effort and expense. You can truly see how much the family cares for and loves their camels, it is lovely to witness. The amenities were basic but extremely clean and comfortable, I had the best night sleep of the holiday to date. The pickup to go to the camp was seamless. Humied met us in Al Wasil (just follow google maps for the exact location) and transferred us in his 4WD, even taking us over some dunes. So lovely to go off grid and feel apart of the desert. Cannot recommend this camp highly enough.

Perfect little family business! Incredible location, really nice people and good food and tea. The brothers are very hospitable and always up for some fun. Would definitely recommend the dune ride in the sunset and/or camel riding.

Awesome hospitality. Nice, comfortable accommodations. Great, generous meals with breakfast bread cooked on the fire. Very personable people. This is a smaller camp with an authentic feel and a friendly owner that answers all your questions and makes you feel welcome. Camel ride was great.

A wonderful, breathtaking experience awaits you if you decide to stay at Nomadic Desert Camp of the Almeghairi family. It’s super authentic, they are the kindest people and will explain you all about their life if you ask.:) You stay in craftily built palm huts that stay cool even during lunch time (incredible!) and have super comfy beds. If you can deter your sight from the maybe clearest night sky of your life (since no light pollution) you will sleep restful in the desert quiet. The home made food is delicious and there are lots of veggie options. I went back twice already and will go back every time I visit Oman - to this camp and no other.:) شكراً جزيلا رشد، عبدالله و حميد، You made this an unforgettable experience. Stay as you are and continue what you are doing!!:)

This camp is just perfect ! I love everything. There is all we need and in the same time the essential. Everything is well done and typical. People are very nice. Food was so good. And a lot of attentions are inclued in the basic price : sunset cofee on the dune, fire on the evening to chill, 20 minutes camel ride. No electricity, no wifi is just an evidence into the desert. I recommande !

Great place to enjoy the peacefulness of the desert. Not much light and clear skies. Hamid is a great host. Accommodation is basic but nice and clean.

We stayed one night at this simple but very clean and well run camp in the desert. Very nice location, the host family is very friendly and eager to please. We had a great dinner and a great breakfast. We were lucky to spend time with the children of the owners and our daughter (6) had a great time too. The camel ride was nice. The staff is also very nice. Overall we had a great time in these beautiful surrroundings!

Amazing experience in the dunes of Oman. This marker is the pickup point where you will meet your hosts. I highly recommend staying with them, watching the sun go under during dune bashing, taking a camel ride, and just enjoy the tranquility of the desert. It's also a great place to meet fellow travelers, and the food is outstanding!

An experience we will never forget. We travel lots and this is one of the best nights we have had in our lives. We never thought we would find the desert so beautiful and spiritual. The colours and shapes of the dunes are a joy to observe. We did a two hour ride at sunset and it truly was amazing, absolutely must do. The camp was perfect, enough comfort to make a wonderful stay, but also authentic. Beds beautifully made up with lovely bedding. The communal sitting area was so relaxing with lovely cushions to lie on, coffee and dates. Food was great. The hosts were very kind and even managed to get me on a camel and I am a real scaredy cat. I can't overemphasise how wonderful this overnight stay was and I would recommend everyone who visits Oman comes here, to gain a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you.
