"My experience at Prufrock Coffee was absolutely fantastic! The coffees were incredibly flavorful, and the staff was extremely welcoming. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing—definitely a place I'll visit again!"

My favourite coffee shop in London. Excellent coffee and tasty food. Table service from the lovely staff really elevates the experience above other spots. Also, thanks to it being tucked away, it's never been heaving when I've visited; I've never had to wait for a table.

Absolutely amazing coffee shop in London! Lovely coffee, food and staff. The cinnamon porridge with rhubarb and pistachios was my definition for a perfect porridge. Fantastic balance of sweetness and creaminess. Not overly sweet and drained in syrups and sauces. Simple but very tasty. Good portion and filling. Definitely a must if you want your porridge fix! Their Latte was also pretty decent. They also sell bunch of coffee beans and merch in store. Highly recommend this place and will definitely come back!

Thoroughly enjoyed Prufrock. This is easily one of my favourite places for a coffee in London. Coffee tasted great and I also ordered some eggs benedict and banana sourdough bread - delicious and wholesome. Definitely worth a visit!

Without a doubt, this is the best coffee I’ve had in London. From what I know, this shop was opened by the one and only James Hoffman who knows a thing or two about coffee. It’s definitely more of a sit down type of shop that really allows you to enjoy the coffee and experience so keep that in mind. I’d definitely go out of my way to come back here next time I’m in London.

A cafe that’s affiliated with James Hoffman, I feel like Prufrock is a cafe that should be the #1 destination of any coffee lovers’ pilgrimage. I wasn’t disappointed. We had a classic Flat White, a festive Pumpkin Spice Latte, and toasted buttered Banana Bread. It was probably the best Pumpkin Spice Latte I’ve had (that doesn’t taste too sweet or artificial). The Flat White was good, it was fruity and a bit to the sour side but that’s how I personally like to have my coffee. Finally, the Banana Bread was a nice afternoon treat that goes well with both coffees. I’m looking forward to trying out the brunch soon as well. Fingers crossed it’s just as good! Prufrock is worth the visit.

Lovely time at Prufrock Coffee. We arrived early in the morning directly from the night train to have breakfast and coffee. I've been planning to visit Prufrock for quite a while now (thanks to James Hoffmann), and finally having the opportunity, Prufrock didn't disappoint. Lovely, creamy yet distinct cappuccino (Square Mile coffee), amazing eggs Benedict. High quality tea with 3 (!!) refills and lovely porridge. The staff was nice and helpful and the place had a great atmosphere with nice music. Next time I'm around I'll definitely go back!

-Good filter coffee. -Tomatoes on a toast was my favourite food ( didn't expect that but... Is simple and very tasty!) If you expect a good coffee everytime no matter what, this is the place. The staff is very friendly - also good fair prices (for 2 people) for a light lunch. + grain coffee, filters, chocolate and books (from Hoffman and other authors etc)

Black coffee tasted better than the flat white, which was more towards the creamy side. Personally prefer something of a darker brew. Banana sourdough bread was moist which we enjoyed. Service was very friendly

Quite a busy cafe and you have to wait a few minutes to be seated. There is a line, but it moves quickly. The bacon was a bit overcooked and the waffle was the same, disappointed. The staff is very nice and friendly. I got great help in recommending coffee bean suggestions. There is a great street art painting on the whole wall just the opposite the cafe. Heads up and you will find it.

Prufrock Coffee is a popular coffee shop that is always buzzing with people. I visited on Sunday morning right when they opened and got a cosy table to enjoy my coffee, there are also books about coffee around the world and it was lovely to look through them. I had the filter coffee El Cerro - Peru (£3,6), which was excellent quality, smooth without being bitter (no milk needed) and polenta cake GF (£4), which also was delicious, and not too sweet. Service was also very friendly and attentive, and I loved how I’d get my glass of water filled up without having to ask for it. One of the best quality coffee in London!

First visit back to Prufrock since it's revamp and have to say I was really disappointed. I ordered the vegan breakfast bun which looked good but the bun was rock solid, almost hard and stale like, which broke apart into pieces. The filling was okay, but there was far too much heat and spice in this for a breakfast bun and left a horrible taste in my mouth and really wasn't worth the price. As for the coffee, this was the most disappointing part. My oat latte it seemed the milk had separated from the coffee and in the bottom of the cup was coffee grounds which was a nice surprise when I got a mouthful. I loved the old Prufrock so this was a bitter disappointment (I've used that word a few times now). I hope when I'm next in London and pay a visit, the quality is better for the price.

It's one of the best specialty coffee shops in London. Great coffee, a lot of coffee gadgets, coffee beans origins, and books. The breakfast I had was incredibly delicious. (Wild mushrooms toast) Finally, the staff was very friendly and welcoming

I went here with big expectations. Sadly they missed on most levels but the food. The food (breakfast bun) was literally amazing. The mustard vs the vs the bacon was just amazing. Sadly the service was not good at all, there weren’t that many people on arrival and it was that busy during our time at the cafe. But it took forever and ever for us to get some service, and when my food arrived it took another 30 min for my coffee to arrive. My wife ordered a cappuccino which was literally cold on arrival so we asked them to remake it, which took another 10 minutes, when the new one arrived it was still not hot, but we didn’t bother to ask for a new one again. Once on payment, we were never asked if we were happy with our visit nor did we get any eye contact or asked if we wanted the receipt. It makes me sad because I think this place is so much better than what we saw and I really love the idea of the old coffee machine from the 60s that I tried coffee from. And the interior is cool. I wanted to give them an even lower rating but the food was just so good.

Best coffee shop in London by far. The coolest thing is they have a list of other places to try to eat and have coffee. I love that they have Square-mile coffee and Tim Wendleboe coffee. And the thicest piece of bacon on earth

Coffee so good, Mr LA was filling a suitcase with a selection of beans. Gorgeous brunch of perfect, poached eggs, with extra Yorkshire, unctuous bacon. Chilled vibe, so if you are the drama, please don't come here :-) Easy to get to Farringdon, Leather Lane with the Elizabeth line. Loveit.

Second time here- agree with other reviews that this is the best filter coffee around. 4 bean options, perfectly brewed, lively place with a great vibe.

We went to Prufrock for my husband’s birthday breakfast after reading the great reviews and the place did not disappoint. Ordered Mocha, hot chocolate and Sandwiches. Food was good, we would have loved the coffee and hot chocolate to be a little hot as it was really cold outside - but probably our mistake - we should have specified we wanted our drinks to be hot. Nice ambience- there was a queue, but we got a seat within few minutes. Would love to visit again.

Fantastic coffee experience with the old Italian lever espresso side by side with the new red brick espresso. Both are so tasty. Both complex. If you like espresso this is the place. Had to make a trip while I was in London.

After long time expectations and being a James Hoffman fan, I decided to come here for a breakfast. The staff was very welcoming as we came in, but never bothered mentioning that the menu is on a tiny QR code on the table, until we asked. We had the mushroom toast with an addition of a poached egg, which was amazing and also the juices they sell were quite delicious. Now to the problems: the service starts getting slow as the place go full, making it very hard to even get someone attention, let alone get your order. The flat white and americano were quite average - not sure which blend they use for the espresso based drinks, but it’s not really my cup of coffee (felt too dark and strong). Tried the rose and pistachio cake, which was for sure not fresh, the staff wasn’t really appreciative of my feedback and almost made a clear effort to show that. Won’t come back again, as there are enough places out there that Kyle provide a better value for money.

Lovely cafe with excellent coffee and grub. They have really wonderful baristas and wait staff, and with all the pandemic restrictions, they've made the place still feel friendly but in a COVID-safe environment. In normal times, it's a wonderful place to meet up for a coffee, hopefully we can get back to those times soon!

I came in here twice a few weeks ago because of our popular coffee shop closed, and both times, a man, I think he owns it, was here without a mask. The second time I visited, he had just arrived by bike and was talking to the staff and wandering inside, touching everything and talking about food. Really set. All other employees always wear masks, so thank you for following the rules.

Such a cute little gem! :) The staff is so so nice and professional!! We were seated pretty quickly although they had a little queue. We ordered cappuccinos but they were a bit lukewarm so we asked for another hotter ones and they didn’t charge us for the first ones although we drank them all, which was very surprising and considerate of them. The food was very nice and we had also a cheese pastry. Too bad we came too late and all the sweet pastries were gone.. We’ll definitely come back soon!

The coffee was good, the food was delicious, and the staff were both friendly and attentive. It's an ideal stop for anyone shopping in Hatton Gardens. Just be prepared for it to be quite busy on weekends. Highly recommended!

I travelled halfway around the world just for this coffee shop alone and it did not disappoint. The flat white I got absolutely blew me away, full rich flavor that did not get diluted with the milk. The eggs Benny were a phenomenal choice on recommendation from our server. I’m jealous of the local londoners here - this ranks as one the best coffee shops in the world that I’ve been to.

-Good filter coffee -poached eggs with some greens on a sourdough was my favourite food ( didn't expect that. If you expect a good coffee everytime no matter what, this is the place. The staff is very friendly - also good fair prices Toasted banana bread is a must okay? They sell coffee beans, filters, chocolate and books (from Hoffman and other authors etc) One thing I didn’t like the place isn’t very clean plus the plates and the cups you can literally tell they well used and old and they smelled.

Probably the best breakfast I've had in London! The coffee, the cappuccino.. the iced latte -> Delicious. Perfectly balanced and with an outstanding flavor! With regard cinnamon roll.. nothing special.. good one but didn't blow my mind. Instead the bread with the poached eggs and hollandaise sauce... incredible. Definitely suggested!

Always having the top notch coffee here, love the changing coffee menu. Food is always very nice, although it is on the pricey side (portions are quite small). Service can be a bit slow with just 2-3 people.

The best brewed coffee I’ve had in London. They have 3 choices for roasts from various local roasters. Excellent breakfast options as well. Great service. The price is worth it.

  • 3/5 tinetakaya 2 years ago on Google
Very tasty espresso drinks and filter coffee, but I popped in for a to-go coffee the other week and ended up waiting 20 minutes for a cap? There was a group of three people in front of me, who were also waiting for their to-go coffees and from what I’ve gathered they arrived much earlier than me. I am by no means expecting a drink right away, and I’m willing to wait for good coffee, but I think the whole point of getting it to go is to speed up the process. If I were informed that it would take that long, I’d simply stop by somewhere else - problem solved. All in all, I think I’ll be back? But for a seat-down coffee and meal as opposed to a quick cup.

Not been here since they redecorated. Still top quality coffee and food. Staff amazingly friendly and helpful as you would expect from Prufrock. The Prufrock vegen breakfast bun was awesome. Great to return to this vibe 😊

First, best flat white I’ve had in a minute. I was delightfully surprised at the flavor and quality. Along with good coffee, Prufrock has a great atmosphere-perfect spot for either meeting up with friends or colleagues. Helpful and attentive staff. 5 gold stars y’all.

If you like bacon you have to try the bacon here! It didn't look a lot of food however it filled me up and left me feeling very satisfied. The only thing stopping this being full marks for breakfast was the inability to have a large coffee.

  • 5/5 Scott B. 2 years ago on Google
Honestly the best coffee experience I've had anywhere. The staff are clearly experts in their craft, providing high quality service and advice. The coffee itself is superb, both in the espresso based drinks and for filter coffee options (I had kalita, but I think V60 and other methods are offered). A better selection of natural-processed and light roast coffees than a lot of espresso bars offer, and you can buy a lot of the coffees they use to take home yourself (but don't expect budget prices - the bag of kilimanjaro natural was £19, but it provides some of the sweetest, fruitiest coffee I've had the pleasure of brewing myself at home). If you like coffee, it's a "must-visit" café. Just be prepared to wait a little for the food, as they're a popular place that's always busy. Definitely worth the wait though.

This place is always lively, and full of people, amazing coffee, crispy and tasty pastries, super friendly staff. Only one downside is the fact that due to the popularity it’s not the quickest of services but It’s worth the wait.

This place is amazing for all serious coffee enthusiast who want to try out and experience the best quality of espresso available. We went for the limited time comparison of new espresso vs a restored 1950s machine and thoroughly enjoyed both. The food was also delicious.
