So much wildlife! The best part is how close you get to them and just see natures beauty up close! Don’t blink or else you’ll miss a giraffe hidden in the trees!

In January 2023 I visited Lake Mayara Nationalpark with Ava Backkpackers for one day. The park is very green, we saw a lot of monkeys, different kinds, watching them in big clans. Also many elephant families with their kids. Some giraffs, the hippos were hidden in the lake. We had lunch at a beatyful viewpoint over the lake..nearby Is a hotspring. There are several nice kinds of birds in the park. The only one we missed were the treelions..That day was amazing!

This park was okay for seeing a few animals. Definitely a lot of baboons and monkeys. But that was the majority of what we saw. We did see 1 group of giraffes, elephants and hippos. But it was a lot of just forest. What is nice is that it's not a huge park so you can end early.

Hakuna Matata

We were a little disappointed of the National Park. Only a few roads. Scenic apart from the lake is not too impressive. Many dead tries because of the flooding, lots of bushes. We were in April and saw only a few animals. A few monkeys and elephants, giraffes in the distance. Maybe we just had a bad day for animal sightings. We were in Tarangire and Ngorongoro before and could have skipped Lake Manyara.

Lake Manyara National Park is a Tanzanian national park located both in Arusha Region and Manyara Region, Tanzania. The two administrative regions have no jurisdiction over the parks. The park is governed by the Tanzania National Parks Authority. The majority of the land area of the park is a narrow strip running between the Gregory Rift wall to the west and Lake Manyara, an alkaline or soda-lake, to the east.[2] The park consists of 330 km2 (130 sq mi) of arid land, forest, and a soda-lake which covers as much as 200 km2 (77 sq mi) of land during the wet season but is nearly nonexistent during the dry season.

While at Lake Manyara National Park you can enjoy the unique features including migratory birds like flamingo, tree climbing lions, big groups of baboons, alkaline lake view, hot spring and many other species of plants and animals..The most distinct feature of the park is the largest groundwater forest in all of East Africa. This causes the park to have very unique natural environments,,and the only park with great cultural diversity around.. For [email protected]

It is nice game drive through wilderness, not so many wildlife comparing with other parks but it is a good start for a 2-4 nights safari trip.

Early January is a bad period to visit this park… we didn’t see any elephants, zebras, giraffes… just baboons. Flamingos don’t come anymore because the lake is quite polluted from agricultural activities around the lake. The trees around the lake are dead because of floods… sad view.

Amazing national park with lots of wilderness, here you will be lucky to spot troops of baboons, lion on the trees, elephant, hippo with many more. Also you will see a wonderful scenic feature associated from great rift valley like Lake Manyara itself and hot spring

Lake Manyara National Park is considered as an all year round Tanzania safari destination however the dry season from June to October is considered the best time for game viewing. At the base of the River valley Escarpment is a small park, Lake Manyara National Park. Unlike the more Savanna dominated parks, its ground water forests give you superior change of the scenery. In the peak tourist season, the northern section of the park is very crowded especially in the mornings for most of the year that is to say in June to October; however in the months of March and April the park is experiencing rains which makes it the low tourist season. Lake Manyara National Park experiences two main seasons in a year and that is the dry season and wet season each of these coming with its unique rewards as highlighted below.

So-so park. Easy to get lost. One third of roads is flooded. Didn't see any Lions. I liked tarangire and kruger way better. However, seen wild dogs. Way to Hippo pool is flooded.

Visited the park for just over two hours. Our driver was very knowledgeable and was an excellent guide. Can be very crowded with other jeeps when a lion appears. Such a thrill to experience the baboon habitat in Manyara National Park, Tanzania. Two species of baboons are found in Tanzania—olive and yellow. They live in large social troops, which are mainly matriarchal. Males move from one troop to another and fight for their right to stay and improve their social rank. "There once was a brainy baboon, Who always breathed down a bassoon, For he said, It appears That in billions of years I shall certainly hit on a tune." ~ Arthur Eddington

An interesting place to spend a few hours looking for the wildlife. Completely different to the other national parks we visited on safari. More of a rainforest feel to it and it is right on the banks of Lake Manyara which is huge!! Loads of baboons, exotic birds and maples, plus we did manage to meet many elephants as we were leaving the park. Overall a pleasant but quieter drive around the park compared to what we had witnessed on the Serengeti previously.

I can say this is a very unique park in Tanzania, during my safari I got a very luck moment to experience the trees climbing Lion and lot and different species of birds. I had a long schedule to visit all parks in Northern of Tanzania this is very unique park.
