Absolutely breathtaking. Best time to visit is during the afternoon. If you're lucky, you might meet a cool local dude called Pascal, and he will tell you about the local legends, history and his dad. Ask him to show you his chameleon and the echo walls. Definitely recommended! There is a small conservation fee of 2000 shillings per person

Gorgeous scenery with a scary drop, it’s worth the pot holes, slippery steps with drop to your unknown injury or death and the monkeys swinging over your head waiting on you to make a fall. Honestly having my uncle there made it a lot easier as he just told me to get over it 😂it’s beautiful sight that cannot Meissen if in lushoto

We ended up here by chance, but we really enjoyed the view. Despite the mixed weather, a breathtaking panorama spread out before us. And the 10,000 tag we had to pay for 2 people was definitely worth it. A guide led us and explained a few things to us about the plants along the way. Was very interesting.

It sound good to reach the place. When you get here, do not forget to paint your name or your country's on the rock!

What an astonishing view at the top of usambara mountains 🌄...the best time to visit is during the morning and evening for sunset

This vantage point, with its sweeping vistas and tranquil ambiance, encapsulates the essence of the Eastern Arc Mountains and the stories they hold. Hiking trails wind through the forested slopes, leading to waterfalls, rock formations, and hidden corners of natural wonder, the view point is a panoramic horizon.

Even I am from Kerala, India there view made wonders in me. Outstanding view in a single frame we can see way to arusha, mafia Mountain and the nearby town ships. I saw some pictures of sunset also I was unlucky to see that view because I was suppose catch the at 2 pm. may be next time. The morning view and the sunset are the good time to visit as my point of view. I was a solo traveller so the guide from the hotel helped me a lot and took my pictures also. Also there is a cave (they are calling it cave) beneath of the rock.

Initially we were offered access by the hotel directly at the viewpoint for 10,000 tsh. We then walked another 50m down and the passage only cost 5,000 tsh per person. We learned that you should get a receipt so that the entrance fee goes to the community. The viewpoint is great.

Irente viewpoint is one of a kind. Standing on a rock 1500m above sea level and seeing the beautiful sunken landscape stretching Kilometers was so amazing. The one thing worth not to miss, is the sunset at this high point.

90 minutes from Lushoto by foot. You may also rent motor bike with rider. But i preferred to walk. Bring water and some fruits and nuts for your long trail. Upthere I was asked to pay 2000 Tsh as a donation for the village. The view was really outstanding

Amazing view point! A photo point would help! Safety rails would be crucial and a great site for taking splendid photos! Don't go when it's sunny!

A scary viewpoint indeed. I recommend the community that earns revenue from it, invest in safety barriers an a proper platform for visitors.

  • 5/5 Eli W. 6 months ago on Google
Awesome view. Totally worth to go on a good clear day. I wasn't lucky coz there were a lot of clouds and I could see anything. Anyhow it was a nice trip to go there. DON'T GO THROUGH THE HOTEL! They make you pay twice. On the right before the hotel is the entrance of the viewpoint of the locals. I paid 6000 TZS and the guys were really friendly.

One of the places not to miss if you are in Lushoto. The hike there is through a forest reserve then passing through cottages experiencing local life. Keep your eyes open for some wildlife as well. The view point gives you a great view of the plains and sunset. Give yourself a break to enjoy the majestic view.
