A full day safari will be enough to see all the animals and most of the landscape. The views are just breathtaking and changes quickly. The animals rarely panic and run away when the van goes around, so lots of opportunities to see plenty of animals up close. A good binoculars is recommended. I went there around end of June, in the morning it was quite cold, around 15 degrees, I would suggest to bring some warm clothes.

Lots of giraffes, zebras, impalas, wildebeest and buffalo. Spotted elephants and hippos but unfortunately no big cats. Sunrise is beautiful. Free WiFi at the gate.

It's beautiful to have a wild experience. It would be great if they offer binoculars to tourists to observe the animals that are far away. Wild buffaloes, vultures, beautiful birds, zebras, etc. Our guide was humble and explained a lot of the basics of wildlife. I thought i would see more wildlife. But it was a beautiful experience.

It was interesting experience. But I couldn't see lots of animals much more than Uganda before I visit. Anyway i was happy because I could feel the breeze of wild nature.

This park has an abundance of wildlife including lions which we were fortunate to see. The roads were pretty good and the park had good markers and several sites to stop and rest. I think this park is underrated in Tanzania but should be towards the top with its easy access, budget friendly, abundance of wildlife, beautiful landscape, and good roads. We will be coming back..

Phenomenal park. You are guaranteed to see animals. Park isn't crowded or over ran with tourists. Park is $35.40 per person. Bush meal is $5 per person and your hotel prepares it for you before your morning game drive. Park offers night game drive for $59 per person and $29.50 per group for the ranger. Our night game drive ranger st on his phone majority of the time and our driver never read our itinerary and never brought a spot light for viewing at night. NIKOLAS was our favorite ranger who worked here and was a very good man. They have drinks, snacks and small gift shop outside of park before you enter.

Mikumi was our first visit to Afrika. We were flashed by the nature and the wildlife. After arriving with a propeller plane, the giraffes welcome us. It has been an incredible experience. We are thankful for all what we have seen

Yoram was our guide, he has extensive knowledge, patience and explains in a pleasant and clear way on animals and the environment. The park itself is large and there are animals of various kinds,We got to see zebras, impala, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo and gnu, I believe we did not get to see them all .. The baobab trees are impressive. We really enjoyed the tour at mokumi

it is difficult to watch animals die from dehydration. The animals are very greedy in this park and the water for them is very poorly supplied. Due to the drought, they are running out of water in their only small lake where there is water. Animals are very weak because of this. I think that people there should take more care of the animals, as they are more than obviously in need of help. I liked all the animals there but unfortunately I can't evaluate the park well because I can't ignore the fact that these suffer from poor water supply, which should be taken care of.

Christmas Day Safari to Mikumi National Park. Departed early morning @4am from DarEsSalaam arrived at the park entrance around 10am had a 4Hr game drive saw many game animals including 5lions, 20-30 Elephants, 200-300African Cape Buffalo & many more didn't see cheetah, leopard & wild dog. Not the ideal time of the day to see many animals but the morning cloudy sky's helped us a bit. Returned back to DarEsSalaam around 9pm.

Very nice place with different animals, It's very large National park in Tanzania with different services like lodge hotel, food, car park. You can move around with your own car or by using Mikumi car. It's near the Morogoro road so there's no problem of travel.

A closest National Park from Dar es Salaam where you can see 4 out of big 5.... To maximise the experience, try to start game drive very early in the morning..... We were able to see Leopard in two occasions, which is very rare in this national park :)

At first we were very sceptical about one day tour from Zanzibar island to Mikumi safari park, but at the end it became a highlight of our vacation. We worried mostly will we have enough time to see animals, or will it be to tiring for one day, also April is a low season month is it even worth trying. Yes it's worth it! We woke up early, had driver to take us to airport, then we flew to Mikumi for approximately 45 min and landed straight at the park. As soon as we landed we could spot animals around. We were lucky to see soo many animals during 5 hours tour it was simply amazing and unforgettable. I would highly recommend taking this safari tour even for one day, we were mesmerised by nature and wild animals.

(Translated by Google) A great alternative to the popular Serengeti for more reasonable money. We have selected a 4 day tour for $ 500 per adult and $ 200 per child. This is 3 times cheaper than a similar safari in the Serengeti. Our tour included: a safari in a national park, a hike to the top of a beautiful waterfall through a forest with endemic species (colombus, mangrove monkeys, etc.) and a visit to the Masai village. There is a wide variety of animals in Mikumi Park. 4 key African animals out of 5 live there: elephant, giraffe, leopard, lion. Only rhinos are missing, but this is compensated by hippos and a bunch of herbivores (zebras, several species of antelope, warthog, etc.). It is very difficult to see a leopard, but all other animals can be seen "in full range". So if spending money wisely is important to you and a photo with a rhinoceros is not a "lifelong goal", then Mikumi is a great option for a real African safari.

This park is in one word: TERRIBLE!!!! There is no water for all the animals. A lot of animals are stuck in the mud. The day we arrived at the park there where 6 dead animals around the almost dried lake. All the other pools/ lakes were already dried out. It’s terrible to see that the animals don’t have water and how tired they are. Do not support this park, clearly the money doesn’t go to the animals.

Mikumi is a national park on Tanzania, with an abundance of wildlife. You buy entrance tickets at the park office. The main highway A7 goes through the park. The speed limit on this highway and in the park is 50km, but drive much slower to see the best wildlife.

Half day was not enough time to see all the animals! But the cost is so expensive for foreigners. I’m living in Tanzania so my salary is local and when i realized the price it was way out of my budget. I’m glad I was able to manage because it was truly an amazing journey. Safari jeeps cost about $150 USD for half day and the entrance fee is about $30usd. But wow it was great seeing animals in their natural habitat. I’m love back sooner or later. We visited the park twice in nov/dec with just 2,5 weeks in between. The difference between our visits were striking: during our first visit the number of animals around the hippo pool was magnificent: lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, buffalos, wildebeast, warthogs etc. It was really spectacular!! About 2,5 weeks later the place was nearly empty because the wet season has started and the grass started getting greenish. So the first visit was perfect and the second visit was a bit disappointing. To buy tickets at the entrance is an easy and pretty fast process. They don't force you to take a guide or a guided tour. You can just drive the roads with your own (rental) car. In the park is a campground with toilets and some benches which you can use for a lunch stop. The park is quite big, but most of the roads are just in a pretty small area north of the main road. It was not bust in the park, just 15 or 20 cars driving around. Completely different from the parks in Northern Tanzania.

We got to see a young lion for a few second bcz it was in a area where isnt allowed to go. It was a good experience but very few animals to see.the canteen serves buffet for 20000 but one serving only. Drinks are expensive. Its better to go to selouse / ngorongoro crater or serengeti for better experience.the safari drivers start their prices from 300k tshs.foreigners pay more and in $.for Local its cheap. We went to mikumi wid our own car. And hired a safari car the cheapest was for 210k but the xperience was boring bcz got to see very limited nd a few animals. It was a 1 hr drive

You have to spent USD150 for the safari car + guide, and TNZ 1500/person for entrace ticket. It took 4 hours drive from Dar es Salaam. It would be nice if you stay at the cottage inside national park they also provide bbq for dinner and bonfire.

Amazing park and experience, we went with @happyafricaholidays. The animals were thriving since its the rain season. We saw giraffe elephant bufallo lions tooo bad we didn't manage to see the leopard. The lunch was good for a safari I expected worse. The place is really nice more then 3 families of lions I mean it's hard to beat. Overall it's great and will recommend to everyone just don't forgot the Sunscreen u will not feel it but my arms are burnt!

My husband and I decided to book a private tour (just us two) to Mikumi National Park. We woke up at around 4:30 am at our hotel in Zanzibar and got picked up and taken to the airport in Zanzibar. We took a short one hour flight to Mikumi National Park with other people from the island that wanted to visit the mainland. We only had one day to see as many animals so my expectations weren't so high since typically people spend days going on Safari trips. I would highly recommend splurging on your own private tour because it is much more comfortable and you can choose how long you want to stay to see certain animals. It's much more flexible and relaxing. The guides were friendly and had a lot of insight about the animals. LUCKILY, we got to see a leopard, 2 prides, lions feeding on a zebra, an elephant with its baby, a nile croc, giraffes, etc. We were there such a short amount of time so I was lucky to see so much. I would recommend this safari for people who only have a limited of time and want to get the experience. Obviously not everyone is as lucky to see as many animals so just cross your fingers and try your luck :-)

A national park where you can see the animals right from the gate, beautiful place, mostly untouched by the daily hustle bustle. Good park to visit if you are short on time, about 6-7 hours by road from Dar-Es-Salaam. We saw a pride of lionesses and cubs about 20 strong out for an evening stroll, a herd of elephants and 2 little calves and a lot of impalas.

(Translated by Google) This park is especially popular for visitors from Dar es Salaam. It doesn't have to offer what a park like Ruaha can do, but it is certainly worth the effort, it is smaller and therefore you can find the animals faster ... The camping site is just a piece of land with a few stones to make a campfire, nothing more. You are right in the park among the wild animals. We had risen here at night and set up our tent with the lights of the Jeep, it was only the next day that we saw that we were literally surrounded by all kinds of wild animals, wonderful adventure !! At night the animals did not dare to come to our tent, we snored too loudly for that.

I made 3-days game drive in Mikumi National Park The landscape of the park is wonderful, it looks like Serengeti National park in smaller. Moreover, in Mikumi, there is an area with several small lakes, which is also very beautiful. In the park, during full day safaris, we have seen: - many predators, including lions, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals - other mammals, e.g.: zebras, giraffes, buffalos, gazelles, waterbucks, warthogs… - many birds. Taken together, I highly recommend to visit Mikumi National Park

Visitors can explore and admire the natural beauty and fauna of Africa. There are many safe countries to visit in Africa and discover it to the fullest. Tanzania, with its Mikumi National Forest, is one of the African nations that offers travelers a view of the continent's fauna. The park, which is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park, is located beside Selous Game Reserve between the Lumango and Uluguru mountain ranges.

this park is enough to get close to the typical african wildlife without doing too puch road, a great experience to see many animals living in their natural safari. the visit an be fully managed by any safari tour which they will pick you directly from the aeroport and after 7 hours driving to the park

We've booked a two day safari to mikumi Nationalpark with Novath Mtui Safari (+255 783 632 327) and everything went very well. Francis and Novath are very friendly guides and they told us so much about the animals. Novath knows all the spots where you can find the animals and has also a lot of knowledge. We felt very comfortable and would 100% recommend the tour. Asante sana :)
