Just mesmerizing place. My one of the most favorite places in Purulia visit. Entered into a forest for the 1st time in my life and was blown away👌👌👌. The huge Sal, Mahua and hordes of unknown forest plants and bushes, the tranquility, silence of this place and the figures of birds, deers carved on huge rocks is just fantastic. Anybody wanting to give their ears and mind some much needed rest from the cacophony of city life, should definitely enjoy this place as I did.

We a team of 18 persons visited the place in April 2021. Very good site. An eminent artist started to shape the hill as an abode of birds sculpting the hill surface to be visible from 15 kms distance. But it has stopped for unknown reasons.

The name suggests that this place is home to many migratory birds.  But not at all.  The image of innumerable flying birds is drawn on a low hill. For the past few years, artist Chitta Dey has been working on in-situ rock sculpture on the hill. The artist started working in 1996 with a government grant. The hill was originally called Mura Buru (800 feet high).  Gradually the hill came to be known as ‘Bird Hill’.  Dense jungle all around.  Hilly red road full of shawl teak. You have to book a guide to see all the pictures (Rs: 100). But keep this in mind, do not take any food with you here as the smell of food makes the bees move upwards. My 3rd picture was drawn first. My 4th picture started during Corona but could not finish as the lockdown started.

Liked it. Enjoyed the view. Few art sculptures visible at the bottom. Top view is nice. Parking available. Didn't spend more than 40min here.

The beautiful hill so far you can enjoy the artistic design of birds which are drawn in big hill stone by local people in purulia and the little adventure is too good and you get a little step experience to climb hills. Guides are available for this place and 100 rupees for one tour of this hill.
