It's a must visit for anywhere nearby in my opinion, It's outstanding beauty and nature is breathtaking. It costs p100 to get access to the lakes by foot and p150 per hour for a kayak to explore the largest lake, p250 if want a boat with a guide and can relax as he takes you (I recommend especially if it's hot weather). By boat or kayak you can then visit the nearby waterfalls which are small but beautiful and can swim in it's pools. You will need good footwear though as the rocks can be slippery and need to take care getting there. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I strongly recommend it to those who love to see nature at its best!!!

Beautiful experience! If your a nature enthusiast definitely a must try. It’s quite a long drive but it’s worth the travel. Welcome area offers home cook meals that are budget friendly. You’ll appreciate nature and it’s natural beauty😍

Looking at the view welcomes you to be in a serene mood. This place is definitely recommendable. 50PHP entrance fee 20PHP motorcycle parking fee 250PHP/hour good-for-4 boating You need to rent a boat to get to Ulayan Falls, a nice little falls with cool water. If you want to go to the other lake, you can rent a boat or choose to hike. I suggest if you want to go to the falls and the other lake, rent a boat only for the falls then go to the other lake by hiking to save hours renting the boat. By the way, you cannot swin in the lake. It was allowed before but due to some reasons, it is now prohibited. Well, you can still enjoy the place in many ways.

Went early to have some hot chocolate and breakfast while we watched the fog go down the mountains. The boat ride to the watchtower showing both lakes was definitely worth it! There were some trekking involved but nothing too great. The whole place had trails you can go around to see the birds and other wildlife. We saw an eagle flying in the distance it was a very humbling experience. Giving 4 stars only since mom insisted there should be more activities to be done but I myself reassured her that this is a nature reserve and the point is to keep its purity. If you want a calm retreat to have some time to think for yourself, or if you want some sort of adventure to hike around the reserve and look for birds, this is definitely a spot for you to experience!

First you gotta stop at a check post to get entry fee. Go early. It has good slopy roads to the top and its scary. We had bike and It was raining, it was so greeny, cold, scenic, quiet and relaxed. So you trek down via stone paths which are super slippery when its wet. No comfort room facility near the lake. You had to walk along the lake to get to the other side or get a boat ride for a fee. You gotta sit and relax here. Ofcourse a place to eat.

Great natural place in the mountains. The drive in a scooter/motorcycle is nearly the best part. A 13km scenic route driving bending roads with postcard views over the bay and mountains. The entrance fee for 2 people including motorcycle parking was 170php (oct.22) There is a restaurant there where they have food and coffee. The prices are very good and not blown up. By the lake you can rent a boat with a boats man for 250php for 1 hours sailing, for up to 4 people. A great trip, but be aware it is very steep walking down to the lakes and can be slippery. Where good hiking shoes.

We took the trail instead of taking the boat, but it’s not very well maintained and pretty slippery so be careful. A group of idiots were shouting to each other from across the lake, and the guides weren’t telling them to be quiet. Some people don’t know how to behave at a natural reserve. Maybe that’s why we didn’t see a single bird except the common sparrows.

It was a cloudy during my visit. You may want to have a tour on the lake via boat ride. I was hoping it will become sunny, as it will reveal the best version of the twin lakes. One of the national parks, i am happy to have seen in person.

Very, very nice and interesting place, especially if you not familiar with local flora. Entrance fee about 100 peso, and you can spent 150-600 pesos for renting a boat or kayak. Nice place to spent half of the day. By the way - road to this park is very interesting and I recommend to go there on your own motorbike (still it's pretty steep, so be careful and take powerful enough bike)

This is one of Negros Oriental's best place to be. Right place to recharge from the city life, away from all forms of toxic, and enjoy with your family/friends.

Im not sure what municipality or city it belong but it situated north of Dumaguete City. Not one but two adjacent lakes. To much nature in the area, it is in the middle of densely vegetative area, to much greenery. Its a long way drive from Dumaguete but the way is already concrete no worries..

Nice place, enjoyable, peaceful and quiet. Lakes were a little murky and not as clear as I had thought. Steep narrow roads getting up to the national park, exercise caution.

One the most beatiful place we visited. So glad glad they preserve it. And because its covered with lots of trees the place has been the home of wild birds. I love the sound of the different birds chirping and singing with each other. So cozy so cool very relaxing.

Really beautiful park! Chances upon many types of spiders and grasshoppers. Not too many birds when we were there. Kayak rental was also suspended for unknown reasons. Recommended to check out the really underrated Kabalin-an pond right next to the ticket office especially in the evening (4pm) when the weather cools and the fog sets it. Really ethereal and presented a more breathtaking view than the twin lakes combined. Motorbike ride up and down the reserve is now 500php per pax.

Perfect half day trip. To fly a drone is prohibited in the whole area around the lakes. In the entrance area is a restaurant with fair prices and a good choice of different local food. The boat trip to the hidden falls is a must for nature lovers

The place was so serene and beautiful. Combine with a relaxing boat ride with an exquisite sightseeing. Perfect getaway from the stresses of Manila and definitely never missed out when you're in Dumaguete.

Pretty cool place to visit however be careful when it’s wet. The roads are incredibly steep and going up and down on motorbike was unbelievably scary even for our driver. If possible, take a car. Tricycles will not even attempt going up to the lakes. Also beware of the motorbikes at the bottom offering to take you up. They charge extortionate prices. Try and organise one before. We paid 700php both ways and also paid for the entry fee to the lakes. Once you get to the lakes there is a small walk to visit both lakes. If it’s raining the path is extremely slippery however well worth the walk!

Nice tree-lined zig-zag cemented mountain road motorcycle ride to Twin Lakes. Enjoyed a breakfast of brewed coffee (Mabinay beans), native chicken adobo and pako salad in a fantastic backdrop of lake, mountains with a symphony of bird tunes.

This place feels like a hidden gem because it was quiet when we went. I'd advise to bring a jacket with you or something warm because it can get a little cold in this mountainous area. Beautiful drive to get there and a good place to walk around also

The most peaceful place I have found in the Philippines so far. Although not easy to spot, there were many different birds singing their songs. We spotted 2 eagles flying high above as well. The rock steps are a bit slippery, so watch your step. The road going there is in reasonably good condition. It’s quite steep in a few places and there are a lot of curves, making it a fun ride. You do have to pay a fee to enter, and an additional fee for the boat ride. I believe the fee for park entry was php 100 and the boat was php 300. Take some time to just chill and enjoy the tranquility.

Very scenic. The drive up there is also very scenic. The weather up there at the top is much cooler so take a jacket. There is a modest entrance fee paid at the entry gate. The restaurant up there is not well staffed. I think there was only one lady up there who took our order then also prepared the food. They food was reasonably good however they had a number of things that were unavailable on the menu. Must be a side effect of covid restrictions and lack of customer travel up there.

The lake is beautiful, serene and I like how they managed to keep it the way it was. Its beauty preserved and not exploited by tourist attractions and all. As you begin to descend to the lake you can feel the change of the temperature and you can begin to feel the cold. I love it.

The ride going to the Twin Lakes takes about 45 minutes uphill and the climate feels so different. I was wearing my jacket and it still feels so cold... but in a comforting way. We were greeted with warm smiles from the staffs and a beautiful concerto of different cries of birds and insects. We were the first ones to arrive so we got the whole lakes for ourselves. Besides enjoying the amazing scenery from the Lake Balinsasayao View Deck, we also got to rent their paddle boat that can accommodate up to ten people. We traverse across the other side of Lake Balinsasayao via our paddle boat while enjoying the captivating scenery that surrounds us. A view deck for another lake, Lake Danao, is what awaits curious travelers on the other side of Lake Balinsasayao. Though it would take several steps to ascend to the top, the reward is just priceless. A captivating 360° view of both the twin lakes - Lake Balinsasayao and Lake Danao awaits. The whole boat experience only costs around P250 but it was priceless, I must say. Unlike the Kawasan Falls in Cebu which feels like a cash grab, the people here knows how to charge justly. We did made sure to tip justly as well. That is how tourist spots should operate. Kudos to the staffs and entire management! Back on the View Deck of Lake Balinsasayao, a restaurant also operates for hungry travelers. Me and my girlfriend however, decided to take our breakfast on a nearby uphill cafe and it was a good choice as well.

Amazing place to visit! Definitely would recommend this to anyone! I rented the boat and enjoyed the lovely view! The boatman took us to a small path so we could run up and see the other lake using the tower. The tower gave you a good view of both lakes! If you don’t choose the boat option, you can walk to the other lake! I am still amazed I was floating on a boat in a middle of a volcanic crater!

Two lakes separated by a narrow ridge and surrouned by 4 mountains make up the Balinsasayao Twin Lakes Natural Park. The lakes, Balinsasayao and Danao, are crater lakes which were formed millions of years ago and is part of the Mt. Talinis mountain range which are volcanic in origin. Activities that can be enjoyed when visiting the park includes bird watching, boating, kayaking, trekking and hiking. The park serves as an important haven for critically endangered flora and fauna such as the endemic Negros Bleeding Heart, Visayan hornbill, Negros striped babler, Visayan leopard cat, Philippined spotted dear and Visayan warty pig to name a few.

As nature lovers, my husband and I loved the lake. The highlight of our visit was the walk to Lake Danao and back. The walk may look slippery and dangerous but it is actually manageable even in thongs. (But of course, proper walking shoes would be better.) We just went slow and steady, took us about 30 minutes each way. I even witnessed an eagle at the 2nd viewpoint! The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the staff working at the ferry were ruining the atmosphere. They were playing music and laughing very loudly. We could hear them everywhere. It would be better if they let the visitors enjoy the beautiful sounds of nature.
