Fun to visit. The tour guides are friendly and approachable. You can ask them questions, and they are knowledgeable about the architecture and layout of the historic house. There are miniature cars at the ground floor. The layout of the house is wide and long so different groups of guests remain separated. The cafe is worth checking out for souvenir foods

A historic house located in the city of Cebu, the Casa Gorordo Museum offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of the wealthy Cebuano during the 19th century. The house as been restored extensively and the materials used are the same as originally. This restoration removes some of its authenticity but makes it a very beautiful piece of modern historical house. Lighting and air conditioning in the basement makes it comfortable and keeps humidity from altering "artifacts". The second floor feels more authentic and is admirably conserved and furnished with historic furnitures. You can choose between a guided tour at 150php or an iPad virtual tour at 100php which has over 20 narrated videos with floor markers for every exhibits in the house. A must see in Cebu.

Great place to visit for those interested in the Filipino lifestyle during the Spanish colonization era. After paying the entrance fee and entering the waiting room, you already get a free souvenir keychain and a booklet while children get an activity sheet for drawing and for "spotting the object" using stickers. From there, a well-versed tour guide will walk you through the house discussing the history of the rooms and the items inside. He also discusses the geographical changes of Cebu by era (particularly within the area) using a huge touchscreen TV. Not only that, a video presentation about the house architectural history is also shown. You can also have your picture taken and printed in black and white using traditional Filipino clothes with historical places as background using green screen. The tour ends at the souvenir shop and the cafe. Overall, a very worthwhile experience.

This house is a dream house! I really liked and enjoy the tour! The enterance fee is 120 pesos and you'll get a booklet and keychain. It is included the tour guide. You can use a traditional clothes they provide there to take picture with. This is a private residence so it is not allowed to sit on the furniture in there. Highly maintenance. By the end of the tour you can chill out at the balcony for a while then see the souvenirs at the museum shop. It's affordable price there.

Well maintained and curated. The staff were super helpful. Would recommend the guided tour to get more in depth history. Absolutely fascinating. Worthwhile trip to learn more about Filipino history. Not long either. Can be easily done in 20 to 30 minutes.

Originally the private home of Juan Gorordo, Casa Gorordo is now a museum that portrays life of Spanish expatriates in Cebu. Full of antiques and old furniture, the house has stunning architecture and design. High ceilings give it an airy, spacious quality and the use of coral stone and wood gives the house a unique feel. The house was turned into a museum in 1980 after an elaborate restoration project.

Took us back to the simple times. The house was way more than just the aesthetic of its rooms and entrance. It tells you a story of a life lived in contentment. Personally, I love the bathroom and kitchen area!

Casa Gorordo, located in Cebu, is a historical house museum that offers a glimpse into the colonial lifestyle during the Spanish era. The house belonged to the affluent Gorordo family and showcases artifacts, furniture, and memorabilia from that time. It's an enriching experience for visitors interested in Cebu's history and culture.

We revisited Casa Gorordo because they had a free entrance day. I visit regularly and so I kind of memorized whats on display inside the museum. But I still come here often because I can pretend Im a rich Cebuana and the museum is my house.

I will never forget Casa Gorordo! This is a must visit in Cebu City. Borrow one of their tablets for an interactive guided tour of The Casa. The narration in the tablet made me shed a few tears out of amazement about Casa Gorordo's and Parian's past.

It is a really nice Museum with a guided tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and coupled with the video they showed us about the place for historical background, I got a better understanding of the house. There is a souvenir shop and Cafe at the end. Restrooms can be found there as well. I also liked the complimentary souvenir they give you when paying the entrance fee.

A really nicely maintained house of the first Bishop. We'll worth a visit to see the house and historical furniture and items there. There's a souvenir and a coffee shop. Note its very close to Yap Sandiego house and Heritage of Cebu monument.

Our visit to Casa Gorordo in Cebu was an unexpected highlight of our trip. Originally planning to explore Museo Sugbo, we stumbled upon this gem when we found it closed on weekends. Casa Gorordo gave us a delightful surprise. The staff at Casa Gorordo, including the friendly guard, made us feel right at home. We had the option to choose a virtual guided tour, which came on iPads. My boyfriend took this option seriously, while I explored at my own pace. The beauty of Casa Gorordo is breathtaking, reminiscent of a bygone era of opulence. Every room felt like a step back in time, with well-preserved artifacts and furnishings that brought history to life. What sets Casa Gorordo apart is its ability to capture the essence of the past. The choice between a virtual guided tour and independent exploration is a thoughtful touch that caters to all visitors. Plus, you can find unique souvenirs, like the magnet we bought, which is different from the typical trinkets you find in souvenir shops. To top it off, there's a Bo's Coffee nearby on the same compound, making it a convenient spot for a post-tour treat. Casa Gorordo truly exceeded our expectations and added a layer of richness to our Cebu experience. Don't miss it if you're in the area!

Really cool house museum. Great in situ collection of upper-class decorative arts from early 20th century Philippines. Especially large variety of regional ceramics and carved wooden furniture. 150 for guided tour, or 100 without. The videos on the iPad aren't really worth watching, too slow.

A historic place to visit, since the tour guide giving informative introduction made the short visit more valuable. The house combined the practical local style and Spanish layout. The overall building and setups inside the house show the wealth and status of the house owner at the old time. Even the thirteen stairs leading to upstairs was giving significant meaningful of wealth and luck. At most twelve server worked here and lived in the same room at first floor right to the main entrance.

One just can’t help but be amazed at the antiquity of this house—from the architecture to the interior design and all items owned by some of the pre-19th century elite—how their lifestlyes were vastly different than what it is today. Although we visited during the Gabii Sa Kabilin 2023 event, there were plenty of people so we couldn’t really concentrate and take a deep dive of every single corner of this house-museum; try visiting here on not-so-crowded times of day.

Preserved home and pieces of the past from the Spanish to Americal era. The interior of the house awed me and transited me to the past. They have tablet to aide you in touring the house, while a very Friendly assistant (Camille) distantly tag along to give you a great instagramable photos around, modernized show of projected videos of the old filipino life, many historical pieces and some religious statues. Entrance fee is 100 for adult and 50 senior citizen. They have shop for souvenirs and Bo's coffee to refresh. Mom loved the coffee there. #LiaaTravelDiaries #LiaaTravelDiaries #Cebu2023 #Cebu #Sinulog2023 #PitSeñorSantoNiño #CasaGorordo

I went here for a school project and asked if we could film. unfortunately, we weren't allowed to film inside the house but we were allowed to film the outside which was fair. Tour guides were very friendly and approachable, they were very professional and really knows a lot about the history of the house. There's also a cafe opening soon on November, I believe it's Bo's coffee.

This museum has very knowledgeable tour guides. I will definitely recommend this to schools and if possible, tell other institutions to include this museum in their itinerary when they have an educational tour. The tour guide, Rave ( ask for him if you go there ) was kind and ready to answer any question that we had for him. The house was able to tell a lot of stories of the Mestizos and the Filipino culture as influenced by the Spaniards, and even by the Chinese and Japanese with their Porcelain Chinaware with Geisha designs. We didn't get to visit the souvenir shop and cafe since it was already closed when we finished our tour so we are definitely going back there to try their frappe!

They upgraded their tour now with tablets! I still remember way back 2018 that we have a tour guide but it doesn't matter since it makes our tour better with tablets. Made upgrades also on other parts but not changing the structure so it made me more mesmerized than before! Kudos also to the staffs that are very accommodating too!

I'll rate this 5/5 coz it's very nice and quite interesting. You'll gonna have a quick peak of how they lived before and taking a look of what does it look like (the antique things that you will see around the house). They offer a virtual gadgets tour where you can listen why roaming around. Also, the Bo's coffee is such a great place to appreciate the ambiance and the outside of the Casa.

We got a guided tour which is not too expensive. It was a cold ground floor exhibit. But not wheelchair accessible. The main gate area had several high steps going down. The main entrance had a big step to hop over. Once inside, a wheelchair can roam around. But the elevator is in another building. I like the big interactive screen of how Cebu was from ancient times to present and how the development and destruction were. Good exhibits were well made and positioned. Our guide was very good and pleasant. Going up the stairs showed a typical aristocratic home with interesting details which were explained. The last was their shop and Bo's coffee. Got some magnets. An excellent museum to appreciate Cebu more. 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. But once you have seen it, may not go back for a while. You can eat at Bo's coffee again.

So glad a local coffee shop is collaborating with CGM, it’s a good place to start for anyone who wants to dig in to Cebu’s heritage.

I can't say much about this museum since the only two days I could tour in Cebu were the first two days of the year, a national holiday, and despite it showing as open for visitors on Google maps, it turned out to be closed. The outside looked neat though, and what we heard about it from the locals and other tourists sounded like it would be an enriching place to visit and experience. Maybe on a future visit to Cebu. Who knows?

The museum was originally a private home (built in 1850s). Later it was purchased by Gorordos’ family. It also served as a residence of the archbishop of Cebu. Lower part of the building is made of coral stone and the upper part is pure hardwood. At the time of our visit (September 2022), the place was closed for renovation. No information was given on when it would be reopened. But at least from the outside, it looks like almost done.

If you're a museum hunter and in Cebu, this one is perfect for you. For just a very cheap entrance fee, you'll be accompanied by a beautiful tour guide. Also you'll get to have a guide book and a souvenir key chain. It was owned by the Gorordo family then and currently maintained by Aboitiz Group. The tour is informative and has a 10-min presentation. You'll get to know the origins of Cebuanos and their culture during the Spaniard and American era. The place is very clean and centralized aircon. It is really well-maintained museum. Will definitely go back here some time.

It’s such a small entrance fee to pay to have a good experience at the house museum. Get a free guide to tell the story of the museum from time to time since it was built. At the end of the tour, we can have a picture taken wearing clothes from old times and pay a small fee for that. Got a souvenir shop where they sell local hand craft and cafe too if feeling like having coffee.

Very well-kept & organized museum house. Stepping inside seemed like I travelled back to the Spanish era. The local guide I s very well-versed and using an interactive wall, I got to see the old Cebu and the planning/arrangement in different eras of Philippine history. The memorabilia is well-kept and we enjoyed going through the different rooms in the class/house. The tour ends in the museum shop where you can buy souvenirs & Cebu food items.

Casa Gorordo is a very interesting place. I love the interactive media that they use. Very hi tech. Our guide, I think she was a college student (maybe doing her ojt or something ), was very knowledgeable. The place is well preserved and takes you back to the Spanish era. We bought food from the cafe downstairs and it was really good.

One of the museums with the most comprehensive guides. They even have videos about the earlier times. Their guides are trained and answers questions from visitors. Must visit. They also have a souvenir shop and a cafe if you get hungry.
