I'm reviewing mostly the location. It was great place. You can see how lively it is in the area. I got to experience a bit of drum show. It was awesome.

For first timer like us to set foot on iloilo by ship, this is a nice place to stop over n' to think and ask google map on which place to go next hahaha, the place is wide and bare so i think they should add more plants, grass and flowers to make it more luster for its finishing touch. I love the trees though.

When you visit Plaza Libertad, you will see the “Iron Dinosaurs” or the Steam Locomotive number 888 which was built by the American Locomotive Company in the 1850s and was brought to the Philippines. These “Iron Dinosaurs” were used to transport sugarcanes during the glory days of the sugar industry in the Visayan region - with the distinction pf having the only railway system in the country outside Luzon. Plaza Libertad is also known as the starting point of the parade during the Dinagyan Festival.

Cleaner than it used to be. Little bit crowded as o can remember. Lots of ample parking places . The side parking made the road smaller and traffic. Cleaner than it used to be.

Another cozy and beautiful park/plaza in iloilo that offers a breath of fresh for tourist from the metro. With ample amount of lights and food stalls within the surrounding area. Take a minute to appreciate.

A National Historical landmark. This is where the Spanish surrendered and the flag of the first Philippine Republic was raised. Also in the same vicinity is the San Jose Church and the Iloilo City Hall.

Reference would place this plaza as a town square for a town call La Punta de Iloilo. Formerly called Plaza Alfonso XII, this piece of land saw the surrender by Gov Gen del Rios of Spain's last capital in the Philippines. Surrounded by Iloilo City Hall, San Jose de Placer church, old buildings (of which some were hotels during the Spanish and American occupation). Now a nice plaza to walk in by day and night (used to be a seedy place at this time years ago). Piped in music on selected posts. At night it is lighted and safe though haven't seen any law enforcement personnel here to guarantee that during the visit. A statue of Dr. Jose Rizal is at the center of the plaza, an old coal locomotive train is close by the city hall. Other parts are still under construction so lets wait and see. #RP

The plaza is located typically in front of the San Jose Church and and the Iloilo City Hall as are most spanish-influenced town plazas in Iloilo. It is wide enough to allow a basketball court, some playground equipment, a few spots for social interaction and recreation and also a jogger's path that is shaded by multiple ylang-ylang trees. A stone's throw away are the Sunburst Park and the new Freedom Grandstand. Parking is a little difficult but possible. There are varied small food shops around for snacks and refreshments. I would recommend either an early morning jog or a late afternoon stroll if you happen to enjoy being outside. The photo i posted is of one of the main attractions. Each corner of the plaza has a bust of (i would like to believe) some Roman Gods and Goddesses (i could be wrong. I couldn't readily find any reliable info on them as of the moment.) These busts also happen to be Poké Stops (tip for Pokémon Go players)

Iloilo is a more historical and cultural city than Bacolod and it's keeping its past in many senses wether the Plaza Libertad or its cathedral or other building but also its shopping arcades. It gives a more city status.

The place was incredible and the best thing I've seen there is the train. It amazed me💖. I've there a year ago and I can still remember the good old memories with someone's special to me. Anyways about the place it's magical for me if you were going to ask me. I suggest you should visit this place and take your time to chill or even bond with your friends or family 👍🏻.
