Stunning renaissance church. From closer look, you can see that adobe blocks are still intact. It is near Bacolod plaza and near SM Bacolod so it is easy to visit it. Also, almost all jeeps will pass by here. Inside it is so peaceful and vendors are not scattered on the entrance. Overall it was a great experience visiting this church. Best to visit this place at night when the lights are on and the whole structure is glowing.

Attended early morning mass when we were visiting Bacolod. It is near city center and there is some parking around the plaza across the street from the church. To get a parking space it is helpful to get there early.

(Translated by Google) A place worth seeing - modest interior, no glamor. In 1981, Pope John Paul II was here - there is a memorial plaque embedded in the floor at the altar. (Original) Miejsce warte zobaczenia - skromne wnętrze, bez przepychu. W 1981 był tu Papież Jan Paweł II - jest pamiątkowa tablica wmurowana w podłodze, przy ołtarzu.

Located at the heart of Bacolod City. In front of it is the plaza. There's a coffee shop at the back of it too. Be prepared to see some old aged people asking for alms, preferred to give food instead. So I gave them some breads I was able to buy on a local bakery.

Nice place to seek guidance and enlightenment from our beloved God. The place is quite perfect for solemn events like weddings, baptismals and other religious events. I did a lot of pictorials here since I am a photographer. Likewise an iconic and historic place for Bacolod City. It's big, old, and in the city center. Main road just in front of the road but when you go inside you can't hear the noise. Seats and chairs are old but I love the environment. Cool and soothing. There are few beggers who seat in front of church but the most important I love the church.

One of the few witnesses of a culturally past of Bacolod. So beautiful cathedral. Go there especially outside the masses. You would be able to pray quietly and deeply God. And admire the architecture in its full splendor

Must visit church when you are in Bacolod. San Sebastian Cathedral is one of the most famous religious and historical landmark in the province of Bacolod. The church usually closes around 8 p.m. If you want to go inside to offer prayers or admire the solemn interiors, it is best to go during the day or at sundown.

A big and fond part of my childhood. Every Sunday when I was young my whole family will go to church and hang out at the plaza or lagoon. Schedule of mass every Sunday starts at 6 AM to 7, then consecutive every hour until 1PM. The mass for the afternoon will resume at 2:30 then consecutive every hour until 7:30 in the evening.

This cathedral has lovely exteriors but I feel the interiors especially the altar can be further enhanced so that the experience would be further elevated.

The exterior has more character than the inside. Definitely worth checking out it, as a tourist. Be prepared for the persistent little children begging for money.

Hard to enjoy the beauty of this magnificent church when you get scoured with beggars constantly. After giving 1 girl a 20php piece, she then asked to give more because I am a foreigner… despicable people that use the house of god for their personal benefit… Also some highly intelligent family screeching into a karaoke machine right next to the church really adds to the charm

Brings u back to olden times the cathedral itself is history... The artistry of the ceiling walls d interior... D altar so solemn u can really feel God is living there... Plus the hymns of d choir d church bells z like nirvana.... I basically grew up in dat church where my school near is... So many fond loving memories.....

A solemn place where you can pray. They have candle vendor on the right side of the cathedral. You can buy colorful candle with corresponding meaning. The city plaza is just in front of the Cathedral. You can have manicure, pedicure and massage there. Its convenient if you are waiting for someone and take a nap under the huge talisay tree.SM is walking distance or you can ride a jeep for 8.00 pesos.

A historical landmark that connects us to the era of Spaniards. Which our dialect entice to those days and we formulate our own dialect as time goes by. If we will use our Hiligaynon dialect to speak with the Spanish we can communicate with them.

  • 3/5 Kahlil L. 4 years ago on Google
The cathedral was a sacred part of our culture and it's historical importance cannot be denied but the cleanliness of its surrounding is poor. There are many cigarette butts and garbage around the area that one could easily see, tarnishing its beauty and majestic appeal... 😔
