Very memorable and historical site of national hero DrJose Rizal when he was exiled in Dapitan. I thought the place is huge and would take a day, but it's not and you can see it all in one or couple of hours, if you're not rushing. Thanks to the trees and nearby sea, the area seems cool. Glad that the govt/lgu converted and preserved this place for all generations of Filipinos to see

It's been 6 years since I last visited Dapitan and I couldn't let it pass without stopping by the historical Rizal Shrine. Most of the things you read on history books come to life. You'd appreciate it more why Rizal is the country's national hero. After all he personifies the adage that "the pen is truly mightier than the sword."

The Rizal shrine is closed every Mondays but the souvenir shops are still open. They offer several items that are labelled with Dakak or Dapitan. We got an oversized mug for P270 and a cat's eye necklace for P80.

I really wanted to step foot in this historical place a long time ago and it did came true last week. I went on a bike I rented from Travelbee, or probably you can just ride a tricycle when going there. Entrance is absolutely free but the museum opens from 9-4pm only and closed on Mondays. I learned so many things about Rizal and his time of exile in Dapitan in this place. BTW, there’s a pasalubong and souvenir shops outside.

We had a wonderful time exploring this place of our National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal Museum…you can see lots of historical landmarks that you can read on based on his story… This has been kept in honor of his bravery to save us from being conquered, which remain forever in our hearts and in history that will be taught in generations to come. As we actually have subject and learn about his story how he manage everything, travel the world asked for help the reason why we’re being freed! But those belongs to the past but yet, forever grateful for him of his courage to save us!🇵🇭

People there are nice but facilities are lacking. Restroom is strategically located at the center but not well maintained when I visited there. No running AC inside the museum so you will not stay long to read everything, as most of the displays are to be read. It would be nice if tour guides are present to make the visit more meaningful and informative. We were just guided by the local photographer who provided minimal and faulty info and he offered as photographer using our cp but then used his camera to shoot and sell our photos printed in A4 size photopaper at php150. The place is more like a local source of income. And oh, since it is a nice park, it would be better if we could camp inside the place😁.

Very well maintained park and shrine. Entrance is completely FREE. We were welcomed by a guide who was able to tell us very interesting facts about our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. He was also kind to be our photographer hehe so we give him a tip ❤️ There are also photographers with their own camera that will print your photos and offer them for 150php per photo (not compulsory). Very educational and definitely worth the visit if you are in the area.

People should visit this place. You can see a lot of Jose Rizal's personal things. It's a good place to just stroll around since the place is covered with trees so it's cooler even in the afternoon. Great place to go. I recommend it.

It is a good place to relax and commune with nature. The dense forest combined with the blowing sea breeze gives the area a cool atmosphere ideal for relaxation and deep meditation. The sound of birds and insects create a symphony calming your nerves and senses. No wonder Rizal had a great time during his exile in Dapitan. The area is well maintained. Grasses are perfectly manicured and falling leaves are regularly removed.

A wonderful and rich experience, in reference of history of the hero José Rizal. I learn a lot about this chapter of the Philippines. The park is so beautiful you walk around it in a well care and maintained park. The native houses from Dr Rizal. You discover how was his life in exile. He was dedicating that period to teach and to perform eyes operations. The park present majesteous trees some being over a century old. I have to congratulate the authorities of Dapitan for making the place so splendid and offer it free access. As a Swiss citizen I am impressed by the tribute paid to a national hero by Flippinos. Bravo

Some historical parks have seen better days. But this one is really lovely and enriching as well. It features the compound where Rizal was exiled. It showcases excellent and well-maintained replicas of his clinic, classroom, kitchen, residence and water system among others. It is a historical place but it also serves as a nature walk as it is filled with old trees and is beside the coast. You can go inside the structures. There is also a separate museum featuring artifacts from Rizal's life in Dapitan. This is a very good place to visit.

It has been my dream to someday visit Rizal's Shrine in Dapitan and now my dream is fulfilled. The place is grand! There's no entrance fee but freelance photographers will take your photo and sell the printout for P50 each. As you walk around, you get to feel how simple Rizal's life was then and it gave me a sense of feeling that being exiled here wasn't such a bad idea. He was able to accomplish a lot of things from performing surgeries, building a dam, farming, fishing, teaching, and more. Indeed, it was a wonderful experience for me to immerse myself for a moment into our national hero's life.

It's good that the government is no longer requiring an entrance fee. You can experience Rizal's place and get to learn more about him. It's a good way of preserving a piece of history.

Closed for renovation/construction when we visited last Aug 2, 2022. I heard they will reopen by January next year. There are souvenir shops outside. And there's a mini boulevard where you can relax by the sea.

The place encourages you to imagine what it is like living in Dapitan with Jose Rizal in the 1890's. The houses and huts are all simple using the local materials. The place was inspiring for me since I read lot of stories about Rizal's exile in Dapitan.

a place to review our philppine history , Dr. Jose rizal was exiled in dapitan, he uses those time to pursue his passion for his medicine, as evidence had this nipa hut used as a clinic. He established his own school where he built his own dormitory for his students. He also built a dam for.water supply in the area. Now I'm not.wondering.why Jose.Rizal is our national hero.

The entrance fee is free! Just present your vaccine card when you enter. You will be welcomed by photographers/tour guides who will also offer you hard copies of your pictures for 150 pesos each (just politely ask them if you won't need them because they will surely print your pictures and it would be such a waste if you will not purchase those). The park is kept clean and you can freely roam around, except you can't enter the museum yet since it is under maintenance. Overall, it's a great place to revisit an important segment of our history and life of our hero.

It is a good place to relax and commune with nature. Since it is within a protected landscape, the forest is lush abundant with fauna. Some attractions like the Jose Rizal Museum are still closed due to some restrictions. I hope they open soon.

We were headed on a land trip back home, when we made the visit in this park. This place is really part of the itinerary. It's so fascinating to be able to be in the a place which we could only read this on history books during grade school. It was a great opportunity being able to visit the shrine. We had fun touring around, seeing the huts of Rizal, his Casa Residencia, the century old tree, etc. for free, no charges. It was good that it has been preserved and is taken care of so that our generation and young ones alike could visit and will have a chance to experience history in this part of the country. Must visit if you happen to be in Dapitan!

Admission is free. Although at the main entrance going to the site, a minimal environmental fee is being collected by DENR. This site is highly recommended to all whose passsion is history. You will understand better the life and works of Rizal while in exile in this place. A museum welcomes the tourists with some artifacts of the national hero and his family and friends.

It's a great place to walk down the past and learn about how our national hero used to lived and the things and tools that he used which were displayed in the museum. There are also paintings displayed at his house. You can explore Jose Rizal's house which was a bit creepy since it's an old house and my daughter got scared 😂. The park was nice and there are a lot of souvenir items available for sale.

A must visit for history enthusiast. Relive Rizal's chronicles in Dapitan by taking a tour of the shrine park. The complex is composed of multiple structures that has stood relevant to our national hero's days while in exile in Dapitan. Although they are replicas now, it doesnt diminish the historical vibe it wants to convey. Visiting is free, and very secure since guards are all over the place. Can get crowded during holidays, but that shouldn't really be a nuisance.

Its very fulfilling to be here. We can be able to see the life of our dear hero Dr. Jose Rizal. Here we can see it with our own eyes All that he did. His house, his kitchen. Everything has its own story to tell. A very historical place. I salute how they manage the park. As a visitor I am very fulfilled that i was able to visit the Rizal Park.

Park is historical. Poorly maintained. So sad to see this place decline. It was nice and clean back in the old days. Now that it's a National Shrine... It should be at the level of Luneta, Intramuros, Rizal's Calamba boyhood home in terms of maintenance and budget.
