Just a place to roam around and let children play. Best if its in the late afternoon or early morning to avoid the scorching sun. .

Massive difference and improvement from the previous years. It was so lovely to see the crew tending the gardens/area regularly. Also good to witness many ilonggos taking advantage of the place to take walks and exercise.

Public Plaza, under renovation. A canteen is there for you if you wanna have snacks and is being managed by a PWD association / cooperative so you can also help them out

Jaro Plaza is a very well kept public park in the iloilo area. Theres plenty of areas to take instagrammable photos and videos or just sit and enjoy. The park features open pathways, green grass fields and some pavillions that offer shade and a memorial area with benches. This plaza is not far from the Jaro cathedral church building or other areas. Transportation is very accessable here and is generally a safe area.

Used to be beautiful place to relax and have fun with families and friends.. But this place really needs renovation and beautification.. Bit disappointing that parks and plazas are not in the priorities now.. For now, this place is good for zumba goers and for people who wants to find a jogging place with huge trees around..

It was great save for some construction going on and the on going restoration of the belfry. The iconic Jaro Cathedral is also nearby, lots of food shops in case you get hungry. Many jeepneys also stop there including those that go or pass through SM Iloilo and Robinsons Ledesma.

Right now the historic belfry is under development and restoration. It is covered with blue construction canvas to screen falling objects.

The park is clean and newly renovated. There are lots of benches to sit on. And its nice to hang out especially at night. You can also bring pets on leash and eat as long as you observe cleanliness.

It is a place where you can find happiness, peace of mind and it has good ambiance. It is a place where crowds and crowds of people are coming. It doesn't matter if it is daylight or night time. If you want to experience all of this please visit Jaro Plaza as well as their Cathedral. You can also attend their Mass together with your loved ones.

Nice and clean. Good music so relaxing. Many students go there to practice for school activities like verse choir, dancing and many more.

The plaza has revived the classic feel. Sadly in this photo ,the newly renovated belfry's lights were turned off. You may appreciate the on going renovation from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Surrounded by banks and convenient stores and restaurants. The plaza or park at the center is a cool place for shade against the heat of the sun during summer.

More commonly known as Jaro Plaza, the Graciano Lopez-Jaena Park is a piece of history and culture right at the heart of the Jaro District of Iloilo City.

Jaro plaza has the old Jaro Belfry. Aside from that there's pretty nothing much to see here. This place used to have sellers of wares amd plants but since the pandemic began, they dissappeared. This place was, for lack of a better term, mismanaged. Decades of neglect and poor planning led to disrepair of roads, play ground, and facilities. This used to have a mini zoo and aquarium. This place also houses a monument for war veterans. Too many buildings inside the Jaro plaza ruined this place. The current (2022) developments and rehab seems to bring promise to its improvement however the city is sadly cutting down decades old trees that used to provide pedestrians with shade and cover. Jaro plaza used to be famous during Jaro fiesta. There will be lots of wares and park amusement rides. However money collected from those events didnt end up beautifying the place - quite the opposite. Can you jog there ? - yes but the roads and mud make it less interesting

I'm so amazed that finally this historic and socially a landmark for the whole of Iloilo Province have undergone renovation to better serve all the constituents of said Local Government Unit. God bless Iloilo - the home of my ancestor! Ginapabugal ko gid nga ako isa ka Ilonggo!

The plaza is good, but they should renovate or repaint it to look more pleasing. It is also good for vintage photography

When i first visit the jaro plaza when im just attending my elemenary years, the shoe, dinosaur and the big monkey gets me excited but im dissapointed when i go to a big shoes, so many garbage and human feces, something that i sad, for now, so many improvement, they renovate the walls/fences, they rehabilitate the building which is where we can buy some cafe, drinks and foods, and they clean the big shoes... It bring me back from the past when i see again the monkey and the dinosaur, for me i give a 4 star for now because its not complete yet.

This is a very nice park. Every Friday night is like a street party. There's music, lots of street foods and a nice place to take the one you love for a walk around a lighted waterfall. They close off the street early on Friday so be sure to find parking early. The restaurants are all still open if you want something nicer than fish balls.

It's a great place to jog and walk. See the people walking, cautious of their health. And I love the bibingka that they sell around the plaza, so delicious and for only 20 pesos. Never miss to get one of these bibingka!

It's was a great place where you can bond with your loved ones. You can enjoy free roof from the shades of trees.

Renovation and beautification work on one part is almost done, although there are still lacking flowers, trees provide shelter for people who stroll around, The Bell Tower is one of the main feature of the plaza.. Some of the trees also bear flowers so it is pleasant to the eyes. Edit: Renovation works almost done, the bell tower looked fully restored, you can actually do some meditation while sitting on the benches because of the soothing music on the background and for those with catholic faith there Mama Mary's grotto. More flowers would be best.

The place is historical with the Jaro Belfry standing beneath the plaza. It's a testament of how rich is the cultural heritage of not just Jaro but Iloilo City as a whole.

This is my favorite park in Iloilo City πŸ’― I love that it's now filled with people from all walks of life, spending time with nature ☺️ Update Nov 1 2023: They added small sized speakers all over the plaza! When I went there in the afternoon, jazz music was playing. It was so relaxing 😌

The plaza is wide and beautifully maintained. It was a quiet day when we visited but even in the rain it was a nice place to stroll

I don’t have photo pala since I was walking while eating when I was there. But the place was clean and spacious tho it’s noisy because of the vehicles since the plaza is like a rotonda here.

  • 4/5 Jared J. 1 year ago on Google
Currently being renovated. People can now stroll around the place again safely. When all the work is done, I bet this would be an amazing place for leisure and capture some photos of a place where the past still lives in the present.

It's much more clean and refined looking with the new renovations, and there are alot of food stalls along the way, and being in a center location alot of jeepneys pass by leading to and from the city and province.

It looks better now that it has been renovated. Only downside is the unnecessary cutting of trees.

  • 4/5 Julius O. 1 year ago on Google
After the renovation it looks really nice, clean, and well lit. However, it only had 2 entrances onnthe evening I was there. It is fully enclosed in fences with only 2 gates. This is very cumbersome.

The ongoing renovation and beautification made the plaza more attractive locals and visitors. The newly-renovated Jaro belfry and Lopez Jaena Shrine are parts of the beautiful and historic plaza that dates back to Spanish era.

Awesome cathedral! It was being used for what churches are sometimes. A funeral. A large one. The park across the street was nice to explore.

The plaza is just right in front of the Jaro Cathedral. One of the cleanest plaza in Iloilo. I'm glad the the plaza was closed because of the lockdown to avoid spreading of the virus in the city. Hopefully, soon it will be open to the public

  • 5/5 Bern H. 2 years ago on Google
The plaza is spacious and very convenient for doing exercises. However it is near the road and is may be polluted by car smokes. But overall it's still a great area to be at. Also, they sometimes have stalls if you want to buy flowers and plants.

The park is surrounded by awesome old buildings starting off with the Jaro Cathedral and its Belfry, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Jaro Palace, and several old Spanish style mansions. Around it, you would find the Jaro Gym, a mini-aviary, a playground for children, a basketball court, and several food stalls. Yep, of course we tried some of their street food. Mind you, they were really clean.
