Everything we ordered is very good, and I want to highlight their Sukiyaki Hot Pot because it's very well made. Their sushi is also outstanding. Nice ambiance and good service.

This is actually a rustic house that was made into a restaurant. Everything we ordered was delicious! I enjoyed the sukiyaki, ebi tempura and the chicken terriyaki salad. Their matcha ice cream was a nice surprise at the end of our meal. You can also buy coffee and other Japanese good items there. I think it's great that they accept reservations since restaurants are usually full in Baguio. Staff is responsive too.

If you're looking for authentic Japanese food in Baguio, look no further! Everything here is fresh and delicious. Just call ahead to make sure you have a table since this place is usually packed. Sonoko, the owner, is very hands-on when it comes to the food preparation. She and her staff are very warm and dedicated. I highly recommend the Agedashi tofu, mixed tempura, tuna or salmon sashimi and their cold noodles. Oishi!

Our go to place for contemporary japanese food. As always, the food is delicious, the staff are friendly and attentive and the service is great 😁 Be sure to call ahead for reservation especially if you plan to eat in the evening. They have the best matcha ice cream i've ever tasted 😁

dined in more than a couple of times. place is cozy like your grandma's house. allot probably a good 30 mins to be seated when you come at meal times, so i recommend that you visit for brunch or early dinner. good food but i think quite expensive. have tried other japanese restaurants with similar prices yet better tasting food in comparison. and surprisingly ebi tempura was smaller than the usual when i last visited. staff are attentive and courteous. parking is difficult as it consists of a driveway with entry on one end and exit on the other. water pressure is low in their restroom.

This is my go-to Japanese restaurant in Baguio since my university days. Excellent food, service, and ambiance! I don’t know how they keep the seafood so fresh in the middle of the mountains, even better quality than some of the stuff here in the metro.

probably the best japanese food we’ve had. ever. salmon and tuna sashimi were fresh and serving was generous, ordered a half serving of the grilled saba but basically looked like a full serving, and last but not the least the sukiyaki was life-changing. soup was delicious and they even offered a refill. finished everything in our plates ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Like: - Fresh and delicious Japanese food. A fan of their Agedashi tofu, tuna sashimi, and cold tempura soba - Nice ambiance, whether indoor or outdoor Dislike: - Mix-up in our reservation. Was not handled well initially but they finally came up with a solution - Parking was such a hassle - Encountered staff who did not respond to questions properly Food was excellent, can't say anything bad about it. Was just not too pleased with the inconveniences we had to deal with.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Baguio! I always make it a point to visit whenever we’re in Baguio. I especially love their Legarda branch which is a house converted into a restaurant. The atmosphere is very cozy. The servers are very attentive. Their servings are generous and their price point is very competitive compared to other Japanese restaurants in Manila. The salmon sashimi is always a favorite! They also gave us complimentary matcha ice cream which was really good! We’ll definitely go back on our next Baguio Trip!

Food here is a fusion of Japanese and Filipino cuisine. Not a lot of ramen choices though. The sashimi is good as well as the beef salad bowl. Place is packed during weekends, which is testament to the resto's good reputation. Staff is attentive and ambience is homey.

Authentic, high quality Japanese food located near the heart of the city. A wide variety of Japanese foods are available from sushi to udon to agedashi tofu. For the level of quality, the price is reasonable. The ambiance is also nice, located in an old home, and the service is very good. This may be the best Japanese restaurant in Baguio.

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants we went to so far. Will definitely go back here when we go to Baguio again. Love the food.

  • 5/5 Mai O. 4 months ago on Google • 17 reviews
Food was good. A little on the expensive side but they were all worth it. Sukiyaki had lots of flavor. The greentea shake tastes more like an ice cream shake but I don't mind. The California Maki though, they were not that packed so it tends to crumble when you pick it up with chopsticks. That's a minor. Parking can be a hassle because you might be disturbed when a fellow customer needs to go out. I think it can only accommodate about 6-7 cars. Aside from that, everything is great!

This Japanese restaurant has a a great ambiance that perfectly complements Baguio's surroundings. We loved the food during our visit, the seafood dishes and salad were fresh, price range can be easily justified by its tasty menu. Service was impeccable too! I know that this is a common thing with cabin-type restaurants but I just wished that they manage the bugs coming in and out of the restaurant and also avoid burning mosquito coils during lunch time. But the rest was fine during our visit. Will visit again!

I love this restaurant before but unfortunately, their food quality has gone down. Their miso soup tastes bland. The shrimp tempura is both bland and not crunchy. The shrimp itself is not fresh and tastes frozen. The gyudon and ramen isn't good. Their salmon sashimi and chirashi is still good though.

  • 5/5 Bung B. 6 months ago on Google • 5 reviews
It's kinda rare to find an authentic Japanese restaurant in Metro Manila. I found one in Baguio! The curry was well-balanced and the tempura was done right, the delicate crunch was there without the oiliness and batter overload. Brought me back to my days in Kyoto and Osaka. I'd say this one's right up there with Tempura Arima in Shimogyo, Kyoto.

Best japanese food in Baguio! Good place, good service and good food. I book at least half a day early on weekdays and at least a day early on weekends. Send a msg to their official number with number of expected people and name and all is well. Brought my family here to celebrate an anniversary and everyone loved it!

YES!!!!!! STAFF AND MENU ITEMS. WOW. The only thing i hated during my visit was the tempura. Please remove it from the menu if you cant cook proper tempura. You still deserve 5 stars. 🙂

Probably one of the most popular Japanese restaurants in Baguio today. Very homey atmosphere, courteous and friendly staff, and most of all great food. The serving size, quality of ingredients, and authentic taste of their food justify the pricey cost—all things considered, their price is still reasonable. The sushi and sashimi are fresh to the taste. Their ebi tempura is truly wonderful both for the eyes and taste. The ebi itself is fresh and succulent even when fried, not smothered but only coated by a thin crispy layer of batter. The Sukiyaki is hands down tasty. We asked for a refill of the soup (so that a group of five can all taste an order for two pax) the chef simply obliged! This restaurant is one of a kind...you taste their food and you’re transported to Japan!

Love this place. Food is excellent, service is good. Best Sukiyaki outside of Manila. Even better than some places in Manila. Service staff has a good sense of humor and they serve well. Prices are more than reasonable and the place is nice and comfortable. Parking is a bit difficult but manageable. Reservations are a must.

Chaya is our go-to Japanese restaurant whenever we're in Baguio, but they sent us to their SM location today; extremely disappointing! Horrible service!! It takes one hour for them to fulfill any of your requests! They did not provide complimentary snacks on the grounds that they had run out! We requested additional karaage, which took an additional hour. When we inquired with each crew we encountered, we received contradictory information; one said it would be ready in 15 minutes, while the other said it would be ready in less than a minute. Then another crew came out to say they neglected to notice our additional order!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! And they’re asking if we should just cancel after an hour of waiting??!!! Worse, we bought sushi variations that included salmon for a price of 1,000 pesos, but we were afterwards informed that instead of salmon, tuna was substituted because we could only choose one! Seriously????? How come the main branch serves all varieties!!! As a concerned citizen, if d guard directs you to their branch here at SM, DO NOT!!! It is blatant deceit! Oh and by the way their ice cream here doesn’t have d same quality with their main branch 😞👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Amazing Japanese restaurant! All of the food were fresh and you would definitely feel like the food are homemade. I reallt loved their Salmon Sashimi. Really fresh and worth the price! All of their sushi are fresh as well. Their chicken teriyaki is a bit bland though. Service is great and the staff are very accomodating. Just make sure to have a reservation!

Minus 1 star because they weren't truthful with the delivery fee. I guess it's business lol. We were 3 kms away from them and they initially stated 150php for that. So we kind of negotiated 😅 I also sent a message in the morning and i messaged again the afternoon and thats when they only saw my message. I felt like my first message was ignored. Big slices of sashimi 💯👌🏻

Quick service, generous servings, good food. It's a former house, and the ambiance is warm and cozy. Loved that they had complementary appetizers (different set for the kids!) and dessert. Prices are a little on the high side, but still reasonable. Love the outdoor dining setup--we'll try that the next time we go back. They have birds, fish, and turtles in their garden, which the kids enjoyed. Parking may be a problem if the restaurant is full.

We went here after Christmas day so we get to experience the Holiday feels in Baguio. Chaya has the best place so far! The food is really good especially the Ramen Paitan and Gyudon! The Miso Soup is the best and of course, our favorite is their ice cream! If I were to rate the food to try in Chaya, I'd say the best to try is the matcha ice cream 😍 It's the best and the tastiest ice cream I ever taste! The interior is very homey and with all the christmas decorations I feel like I am a twelve year old kid again. The staffs are friendly and accommodating! They serve complimentary foods to try too. I will def visit Chaya again! (oh, I wish I can buy your display woven decors) I wish Chaya was my house ❤

My siblings and I love this place! The portions are just enough but makes you want more anyway 😂 I had the teriyaki chicken plate, it was sooo good! I felt like there should have been more mashed potato though lol The Sashimi is definitely a favourite of ours and we recommend the grilled wings! We've been here twice in the same week and will probably be back 😊
