We stopped in here to see some butterflies and actually had a pretty good time. It's not super exciting, but there were some pretty butterflies and they were actively flying around and a couple landed on us.

The attendant and parking guard are very nice and accommodating and were very helpful. The Butterfly Sanctuary area is not that big, and is good for one small group tour at a time. I think there were 8 people inside including us and it's a little awkward to move around. There are a lot of butterflies but some of them are damaged, mejo nakakaawa panoorin na lumilipad pa rin kahit sira-sira na ang pakpak nila, but still good for little kids who want to see them upclose

I think this is a place to go if you have a toddler. For bigger kids, they would not be impressed, but for our then 4 year old, he was so interested to see the butterflies and really enjoyed seeing the different stages. You are not supposed to touch the butterflies, but if one lands on you, you can let it rest. Don't touch them because the wings are super fragile. One landed on me and my son really wanted to feel how it feels and the caretaker was nice enough and knew how to handle them enough to put som on top of his hands. It really tickled him and made his day. If you are in Camp John hay with a toddler, it's a nice small place to go into but don't expect anything fancy. It's like a small secret garden.

Simple place to enjoy the beauty of butterflies.. not as huge as the ones in Palawan and other locations but still okay to visit including other amenities nearby...

It is simply cheating, only a few butterflies are surrounded and charged 80 pesos per person. The area is only about 10 square meters, and it is not worth visiting at all. This trip to Baguio was very disappointing. Apart from the cool weather, there is nothing worth nostalgic about. A place that charges for everything cannot be called a tourist destination.

This is a really neat experience for the kids and adults alike. I think this was my top spot in the very very very touristy Bagio.

Sad to say that only one species here left as the caretaker said because there were many others before. It’s a P50 entry fee and it’s not that big of a place. We just enjoyed the few butterflies left. Not wheelchair friendly area and the restroom is just beside it for a fee also so prepare your coins and cash here.

For a small price, you can interact with some beautiful butterflies inside the Butterfly Sanctuary inside Camp John Hay. After visiting the sanctuary, you cal also drop by the Cemetary of Negativity and go on a mini-golf or kart-biking.

The sanctuary's small, around 10*12m (not accurate but close to that area). I love how homey and cozy it is especially since the butterflies are used to humans rummaging around. Sadly, I saw a visitor swat one of the butterflies and let it dying on the ground. To those who'll visit the place, please warn and control your children, and follow the rules. Not sure if some people will find the 70php entrance fee expensive, but for someone who enjoys a different view once in a while, it shouldn't be. Ages 2 and below are free.

It was such a calm and wholesome experience. A lot smaller than expected though so i was happy we were the only ones there. 70 pesos entrance fee that you get from the ticket booth, parking available with a fee.

Good place for viewing and taking pictures of butterflies. Maybe a little overpriced at 80 peso, but I found it an enjoyable experience.

Visiting here in a weekdays is a very nice experience considering that it wont be crowded. If you have some money to burn, use those to enjoy your stay at Camp John Hay. You will feel the old Baguio at Camp John Hay.

This place has been relocated. This was formerly in the location now occupied by the paintball republic. This is another of the many reasons to visit Scout Hill. Aside from this place, there's the Mini Golf, Biking and GoKarting, Picnic Area and in very close proximity to the other attractions like the Cemetery of Negativity, Bell House, Statue of Liberty and the Bell Amphitheatre.

Less attractive and very few variations of butterflies; not worth the entrance fee

The good: This is a small greenhouse full of butterflies. You will see a decent number of butterflies with different colors. They are very calm and could land on you mutiple times during your visit. It was a very nice experience especially for kids. The bad: The place is very small. I think it was no more than 100 square meters in size thus cannot accommodate a huge number of visitors at once. The place is not properly maintained as well. It looks like an abandoned garden (but i guess that is best for butterflies as it looks like their natural habitat).

Butterflies are same colors..we taught it was amazing and excited to see but its not..it was borung for 80pesos each person

Nothing much to see as the butterflies look more or less the same. There were not too many species. There were two attendants, one was jolly and accommodating while the other one showed no interest at all as she remained focused on her cellphone. Before we can finish our tour of the small sanctuary, the disinterested attendant had packed up and was already ready to go, unmindful of the guests. Not worth your time.

Not worth the entrance fee of 70 pesos. It's a small enclosure with only 4 species of butterfly (so the lady there informed us) and we got to see two of them. The signs inside explain the life cycle of the butterfly but seem directed more toward children. The information signs also say there are 24000 species of butterflies so why only 4 in the sanctuary? I've counted more in the back garden, where I'm staying, here in Baguio.

The butterflies were friendly and so many! Worth the 70php!

Place is small but unlike the other butterfly sanctuaries i've been to in the Philippines I'd say this is the home of the friendliest butterflies. :)

Treetop already closed but they are still advertising it for other businesses

  • 1/5 Dan H. 2 years ago on Google
Too small and with a entrance fee of 70 pesos should be much much bigger and not just 10 butterflies they catch in the nature.

  • 1/5 Maritess Tetet S. 2 years ago on Google
Not worth a visit. You'll see more beautiful butterflies at a well maintained garden or park somewhere else.
