This will be a biased review as this is one of the place we stay in when in Baguio for our annual business vacation. The elegance and comfort afforded by the facilities is something I haven't seen in any other place here in Baguio. The staff are all courteous, friendly, efficient - and since we are here often, recognize us as regular guests.๐Ÿ™‚ The grounds of this hotel are expansive but always clean and we'll maintained. The indoor seating in public areas always allow for small nooks, crannies, pockets where you can just relax, have a drink, and enjoy the calming ambiance of the hotel.๐Ÿ™‚ Admittedly this place is pricey - but it's worth every peso. Baguio to me equates to The Manor. It's not Baguio unless we stay here. Tip: book your trips in advance. We learned to reserve and pay for our next visit on the day we checkout. Therefore, we're always assured that we can be accommodated each and every time.๐Ÿ˜Š We'll be back again in December, and I can wait for that time to come.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

The Manor at Camp John Hay is one of the nicest place to stay in Baguio specifically in Holiday season as you can see beautiful lights all over the pines and trees. Within also restaurant where you can have fine dine in and have your favorite dishes. You can grab some breads and drink wines. Donโ€™t forget to bring some warmers as it can get cold at night.

Great place to stay in Baguio. The rooms are nice, the service is decent. The best thing about this place though are the surrounding grounds. There's a fair bit of greenery around and it is quite nice to walk around early in the morning. They also have an area for nature bathing/grounding. There's also a complementary sauna. During Christmas, they really light the place up, and during that time it does become a spectacle worth experiencing. All in all, nice hotel in a nice location.

The best part about The Manor in Camp John Hay is the location. You're in what I consider to resemble most closely my childhood memories of visiting Baguio as a kid. The crisp cold air with the hint of that distinct pine smell is there - not so much in the city. We tried to go to the city the first day but gladly retreated back to Camp John Hay and didn't come back. Baguio City was just too busy. Plus, Camp John Hay has 3 small commercial areas nearby with restaurants, horse back riding, mini golf and a small area to bike with the kids. There's just enough activities within arm's length to fill a 3-day, 2-night visit that you don't feel the need to leave. There were 2 other places to stay nearby. I would try the Forrest Lodge as an alternative to the Manor next time. The rooms at the Manor are dated but iconic and well-maintained. The service was very kind but inconsistent maybe because the place was fully booked. Plenty of parking at the back.

While the facilities are a bit dated (which is to be expected with any historic property) the staff here were extremely attentive and on point. In addition, we were here during a 7.0 earthquake and I found the preparedness and professionalism of all the staff to be beyond reproach. They immediately evacuated all guests and immediately provided water, food, and blankets. They made sure the building was safe before letting anyone back inside. I commend everyone here for such a high level of service. Bravo!

Our trip to Baguio was faster than expected, thanks to better roads. We came from Manila, RFID tags are a real time saver, it will save lots of time when it comes to toll roads, you will avoid long queue. They install it for free so get yours installed before coming here. Great place to stay. Staff was really warm and helpful. The weather was cold when we came and the place gives a nature and festive feel because of the pine trees and the warm fire place at night (be sure to take pictures here at night) They also give a slice of cake for birthday celebrants. Lots of food outlets nearby if you want to eat out. But definitely try the breakfast buffet. Baguio = The Manor.

overall experience was good, not great. Majority of the staff was helpful and polite. We travelled all the way from California the day before we checked in and there were about 10 of us (4 from California). If it wasnโ€™t for the personality and attitude of the restaurant manager, I would it at least a four star. When we were seated at the dinner buffet, eventually the ceiling started leaking due to the rain a few hours before (I think). My food was getting water droplets as Iโ€™m eating and we mentioned this to the staff and they said theyโ€™re going to report to whoever. My husband got fed up and asked for the manager himself and for some reason, he had an annoyed tone when we asked him to feel the table because it was soaking wet from the dropletsโ€ฆ. He said โ€œSo?โ€ โ€œYouโ€™re telling me you want to transfer table?โ€ Isnโ€™t that common sense? Instead of at least apologizing for the inconvenience he had the audacity to even ask if we want to transfer table. They also had a cockroach incident the same night one table over from where we were seating and I felt bad for the woman who had a cockroach in her coffee and unfortunately, she consumed it. The restaurant food was okay, however, it took awhile for us to get servers when we needed water to start off with. For the price of 2200 pesos per person, Iโ€™d rather go to a different restaurant.

Beautiful. Magical. Amazing. I guess it's worth it based on the price of the rooms there (9k/night). You can rest well and the staff are very accomodating. However, we were not informed that breakfast wasn't included in the stay. So you need to pay i think it was 1k+ for the buffet not really sure. But it was really good. Their Beef tapa is a must try! So many activities available for guests, too!

Such a beautiful stay located in an extremely pleasant location! The staff are courteous, the interiors are beautiful and the food was amazing! The rooms are so well maintained and the views at the break of dawn would steal your heart! They also offer bicycles for rental which is a must try in the hilly roads - a fantastic experience A definite stay place if you're in Baguio !!

A luxury worth paying for. The building is old, but well maintained. Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. it's advisable to book a room with a balcony, as there's nothing nicer than sitting outside in the evening and enjoying the crisp air of Baguio. Breakfast is served in the form of a buffet - a large selection. there are paintings on display in the hotel that can be purchased (prices start from 60,000 PHP). There is also a shop where one can buy locally produced products.

We went for a quick meal and for breads at the bakery. Upside: the Manor remains a stately landmark at Camp John Hay. The staff are highly trained. The Sakura garden and its petting zoo is a pleasant addition to the Easter celebration. Also a pop-up bazaar was available at the garden. Downside: a service vehicle to and from the city would be great as a service to guests who aren't driving. Not advisable to visit without a car, it's too remote for taxis and Grab service. If you're not staying in, might not be worth checking out. Do we recommend this place? Yes Are we going back? Maybe

The Manor Hotel at Camp John Hay is perfect getaway. Offering a great view of the garden, of pine trees and flowers, the Manor also provides guests with delectable food and great drinks to enjoy during their stay. We love the live acoustic music ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ by the restaurant . Breakfast buffet fuels you the energy for the day . The hallways and nooks are elegantly decorated. From the moment you step out of your car, until you check out , the attendants/ staff offer the best service. The bakery is a haven for bread lovers. My favorite is raisin bread although there are so many to choose from.

Expensive vs the rooms that are already old. Not very clean. Do not make a mistake of requesting for extra bed as per night cost is about 3500 where one can stay already in other newer hotels but with added privacy. Plus breakfast is not even included in very high rate. If i go back to baguio i will stay in newer hotels.

The beauty of Manor still the same. The staff are guinely helpful, kind, and very professional. Thank you. This is not a luxury hotel. The Hotel room was OK if you are after a bed to rest after a day out, they are really old and have a musty odour. Whats up with the water on a bottle, no seal = not safe to drink. Please just provide a sealed bottled water for your guests i think a bottle of water a day is just fair. We unfortunately have a window next to a smoker it totally ruined the "PineScent" and we have small children. The dinner at the restaurant my oh my what a waste of time and money, the food was meh... Pasta dishes was terrible not for my liking or my children either. The bread was stale( although free) you need to be aware that it was hard as a rock, it can hurt your palate and gums, (specially for kids) and because we are so disappointed with the dinner we totally skipped the breakfast. You need to keep up with the quality of food being served, who ever was incharge/chef you need to work harder and please remember we eat with our eyes.

Customer service sucked! We waited nearly 2 hours beyond the check-in time for our room to be ready. The kitchen forgot to deliver our rice. The manager was gracious enough to offer discount and waived the bed fee for my additional guest. The servers DO NOT KNOW HOW TO LISTEN!

Rooms were spacious but furnitures were outdated. Service was superb. We called to request for things we needed several times and the staff were kind enough to bring them to our guest room. If you like to be away from the city this is a very nice place to stay in but commuting is almost impossible. You must bring your own car as the hotel is in the middle of camp john hay.

Camp John Hay is a stunning mountain resort located in the beautiful city of Baguio in the Philippines. I had the opportunity to visit this wonderful destination and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The resort is situated in a lush pine forest and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The accommodations are top-notch, with spacious and comfortable rooms that provide all the amenities one could need. The resort also has a range of dining options that cater to all tastes and preferences, from local cuisine to international dishes. One of the highlights of the resort is its beautiful golf course, which is set against the stunning mountain backdrop. The course is well-maintained and provides a challenging and enjoyable game for players of all skill levels. Additionally, the resort has a range of recreational facilities such as a fitness center, spa, and outdoor pool, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy. Another great feature of Camp John Hay is its proximity to Baguio City's many attractions. Guests can easily explore the city's vibrant cultural scene, including its museums, galleries, and historical sites. The resort also offers guided tours and activities that allow guests to experience the local culture and natural beauty of the region. Overall, I highly recommend Camp John Hay to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable vacation experience. The resort's beautiful location, top-notch accommodations, and range of activities and amenities make it the perfect destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.

Laborious check in and check out procedure. For check out I had to talk to the desk THREE times. First attempt, canโ€™t check out because the rest of my group is still waiting in the room for the bell hop. Second attempt, I was told they unsuccessfully verified my room because people were still in it. Third attempt, all he had to say to me was that our room had been verified. Each time I was asked to have a seat (there were no available chairs in the lobby). What a waste of time! The morning of departure we received THREE phone calls from the front desk. First, to confirm our reservation for the shuttle. Second and third, to remind us that check out was 1+ hours from that time. They kill you with the shuttle charges. Paid 300-900 for each ride when taxi equivalent is 100-150. Thereโ€™s no number for a taxi so if you ask for one, you are at the mercy of whether one drives by. Breakfast was overpriced, considering what it is. BUT: Rooms were great. We enjoyed everything we bought from the bakery. I had an excellent massage at the spa.

Iโ€™ll never stay here again. The bottles of water in the fridge were opened and filled with tap water! The hot water didnโ€™t work. The door to the room didnโ€™t lock and was easily entered into with a slight push. The buffet was overpriced (and not included with the room) and the lids were left open with flies on the food. I talked to the manager and they wouldnโ€™t offer me anything other than a bread basket. I was extremely mad about drinking out of a used water bottle. I hope I donโ€™t catch any diseases from that.. Ultimately theyโ€™re greedy and cheap here and donโ€™t care about their customers. This is absolutely not worth the money. Do yourself a favor and go stay somewhere else.

Best hotel and Restaurant in Baguio. If you are visiting for leisure, you must try this hotel. It might be a bit more expensive, but trust me, it worth it. They donโ€™t have AC, but mountain weather is cold.

This property is past its prime. The rooms are very outdated in design, outlets, noise-proofing, even the TV felt like it was from 2000s. During my shower, I lost all the heated water for some reason. The prices are very bad and greedy by the owners and management. Breakfast is not included. The location is in a great spot that's near to many of Baguio tourist attractions in the middle of a beautiful forest. To be fair, based on my research this hotel might be the best luxury option in Baguio.

Best place to unwind. It is so quiet, all i can hear was the birds singing, and the jazz music playing all around the hotel. The place is old, the amenities were old but i can say that they were all taken care of. I love their food choices on the breakfast buffet! Their chocolate drink is a must have!!! The staffs were very accommodating and very kind, very helpful. I like that they always greet you and make chit chats and make you feel welcome. Love the sunset view at their garden area. I love everything about this place. โญ๏ธ

Food before when we came was really tasty. Today we were under impressed with the taste. Our bread was kinda stale and bland and my Lamb was very salty. My wife said her food was โ€œOKโ€. We were shy to order dessert, may be the same. Waitresses were very kind and professional. Ambiance music was nice also. For the price, we really expected more from the food. Not sure if we will return any time soon.

Our room is nice, and the facilities outside are nice. There's a Christmas light show when we visited. We ordered some food in their restaurant and they were good. But there's no free water,or at least a bottle of water in the room. They also charged us the water we didn't even open. Coffee maker isn't working.

Nothing luxurious about the place โœจ Plus, the management treated us like dirt on our checkout day. We were a group of families during our overnight stay and each family had their own suites. As we were heading back to our room after breakfast and before checkout, our keycard was denied. Multiple times that we had to ask for assistance. For what reason? Probably class related. Just because our bags arenโ€™t uniform nor designer ones doesnโ€™t give you the right to treat anyone that way. It was such a hassle on our part and we were the only one who got that treatment. Heartbreaking to see the look on my parents. So if youโ€™re planning to stay, do so at your own risk. ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ˜Œ

Checked in last January 2 to 4. The place is amazing, but service is a bit of a disappointment. Service can be improved drastically. Check in time is 3PM and we were given the room at 3:15 PM, considering we arrived and checked in so early (12 noon). Room service TAT also takes some time.

Clean. Nice rooms. Attentive staff. Delicious food. The prime rib was soo tender and flavorful. The spa staff was very kind and recognized my birthday with a treat. Amazing Christmas decorations. Hooray for the "Ber months". The more than life size nativity is a sweet tribute to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ's birth.

As soon as we checked-in, we already noticed how unfriendly the staff are from the reception to the waiter. It was packed and so noisy at the lobby and at the hotel restaurant when we arrived at 10pm but Ironically, we could no longer eat there because it was closing. When we're already in the room, we got a call from the reception about some "noise in our room" when we were just talking casually. we're two adults with no kids and no one's screaming or partying inside. we're tired and were just talking normally. The room looks old with no noise cancellation, apparently, but it's too pricy for a 4-star hotel (P11000 to 31,000 per night) without breakfast! not to mention that the wifi is useless!

Visited Manor last November for an event. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The ambiance was delightful, with charming lights and decorations that looked especially beautiful at night. The weather was also pleasant, adding to the overall positive experience.

One of the staple stay places in Baguio. You can enjoy greenery while doing your morning walk in the cool Baguio atmosphere. Service is nice and can't complain about the hotel. Recommended for family who are visiting Baguio!

  • 3/5 Genpros S. 1 year ago on Google
This hotel is great in terms of structure and design but with underwhelming service. Reserving directly is straightforward. They even gave us a good deal. However, the front desk is really bad. We arrived there early and did not expect an early check-in, but we never thought that our rooms would still not be available on time. Their staff is also so disconnected that one told me that our room is not yet available while the other said it was and even asked me if no one informed me. I also requested a large bed for both rooms, but neither room was set that way. This hotel is lucky that they have a good-looking hotel, but I cannot recommend this for the service they offer. The place is photogenic or as younger ones would say, Instagramable. One more thing that makes this hotel look cheap is the food and drinks in the rooms, which all had tag prices. It is as if you have an overpriced convenience store in your room. Convenient, but pricey and it makes the vibe cheap. Nonetheless, this hotel is a maybe for the sake of experiencing its uniqueness, but if that's not your thing, other hotels may offer more value for your money.

Great place for a break. Need to travel a bit from downtown baguio city. Did not stay in the hotel at this time though many years ago, spent a couple of days there. Restaurant serves good food. Bakeshop has a wonderful variety of bread.. Like our favorite ham and cheese loaf and banana loaf which we love.

The Manor at Camp John Hay in December is wonderful. Every corner is magical. Loved the decors and family-friendly activities. The hotel is perfect for kids during Christmas time, For sure they will enjoy the outdoor film showing with picnic mats prepared for the guests, and the mini bonfire for roasting marshmallows too! :) The staff are friendly and attentive so that's a bonus. It's also worth mentioning how their valets carefully sanitize every part of your car that they touched, as well as the keys before handing it back to you. :) Those small things at this time is truly something worth appreciating. Will surely visit again soon.

Well maintained place but the front desk customer service should improve. They are not welcoming at all and even during my check out the lady was kinda snobbish! The restaurant though all waitresses were very good! Also, the bell boys are also very helpful and polite!

  • 4/5 Mj R. 1 year ago on Google
Bell boys and guards at the lobby were pleasantly welcoming, not the case with the ladies and a gent on the front desk. Nice rooms, not the biggest. Complementary fruits upon arrival. Rooms had iron and umbrella, no robes. Our room was a bit hot since were facing the open grounds. Breakfast buffet was okay, loved the Filipino selections. Waiters could be more attentive.. Didn't know there was a complementary Jacuzzi til I we checked out lol. We were here during the earthquake and I would like to commend Manor for their promt and much prepared response.

Rooms are well appointed with modern amenities. Welcome treats to room occupants are still appreciated. One of the less crowded hotel restaurants in Baguio. Staff is very courteous. Food is great. Tasted their lunch set last week and its value for money. Made some changes for my order to the listed combo and they gladly accommodated the requested change.

The Manor at Camp John Hay is the ONLY "remnant" of the Baguio that I loved. Back in the 80's Baguio smelled like pine trees and there's zero pollution. Staying in this hotel makes you experience all that again. The food at Le Chef has not changed through the years. It's just unfortunate that you cannot make a reservation during breakfast or dinner even if you're a guest of the hotel. Another thing that I've noticed was that, you can hear the banging of doors from the hallway. Unlike before rooms were airtight that you can sleep peacefully. I hope they get to fix that. Still, The Manor will always be a 5 for me.....

  • 4/5 bill 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are dated but very clean. Front desk and front of house staff are excellent. The dining room service is very slow setting up your table and we had to ask for water glasses, cutlery ect. Buffet stations were often vacant and plates had to be "borrowed" from other stations. Coffee was not available. The breakfast was definitely NOT worth the 1,900pp charged.

It was an evening full of happy views. There were Christmas lights and displays. There was outdoor movie viewing paired with cool wind and great food. We first went to the bakeshop to buy pastries but the view invited us to roam around and treat our eyes with the beautiful Christmas decors all over the place.
