If you’re debating dinner options, GO HERE!! Hands down THE best food I have had in years. This was the first place we stopped on our vacation and we are already planning a second trip before we leave. The owner was extremely friendly and polite. She provided us with the most amazing chicken, pork and macaroni dinner I could ever imagine. 10 stars if I could recommend that high. (We also came right before closing but we were welcomed with open arms and served amazing hot meals.)

First off, Nassau is loaded with the same boring underserved boring plates on repeat. After walking the esplanade and hoping for a hidden gem we all but gave up then stumbled on this LOCAL and AUTHENTIC shack. There is absolutely no other spot in the area even close to this good. I really got into the spirit of Caribbean soul and food here and did it barehanded, I grabbed my square of macaroni and dipped it in the bbq and I tore through bones and fat and ate like a madman and and made a huge mess and darn glad I did. Sonia (I assume) is real, she doesn’t have a thing to sell, take it or leave it. It’s all kind of got a spice to it so hopefully that doesn’t bother you. It’s smoky and charred for sure, it’s an experience without doubt. She also poured us a rum and coke to sip with it all while we listened nearby music. At the end of it we purchased some pineapple and coconut pies. I will remember the meal and the service and kindness. My gratitude!

Sonia was such a great host! We got the Ox' tail and when I tell you it was outta this world! You could see how well she made the food with love. Not pricy at all, don't listen to these other reviews about price, you want to be cheap, go to McDonald's, you want a good home cooked meal and a great atmosphere come here. The food and everything is great! We are going back tomorrow for lunch!!

Amazing jerk chicken ! We’ve gone there 4 times in our one week stay. The sauce is great too

Let me start off by saying Sonia is a very nice person and she provided good service, especially accommodating our requests to find the coldest beers, which she did. Here's why I gave 3 stars. I couldn't taste any hint of jerk seasoning at all. I cook a lot and love the flavors of Jamaican jerk seasoning, it wasn't there. My biggest disappointment is when I goth the bill. I'm ok paying 5$ a beer but our combo pork and chicken, small roll, and something resembling macaroni and cheese came out to be $35, I was shocked. I asked if she had her prices printed anywhere and she said no. As we were walking back to our room I kept notice of prices other vendors were charging and they were $15 to $20 cheaper.

Babyyyyy! As Ms. Sonia calls some of her customers 😊 Excellent Jerk Chicken and Pork! And her homemade pepper sauce gives the jerk some nice spicy heat. The festivals are so good! Be sure to save some for the car ride home. And the beers are nice and cold! I look forward to eating here again!

An absolutely necessary stop while in the Bahamas! Sonia is a doll that knows how throw down on the grill baby!! Her curry goat is outstanding. Thank you Sonia ❤️

Wish we came here sooner!! Absolutely amazing food! Had the oxtail and jerk chicken, both were incredible to the last bite. We are coming as much as we can, best prices, food and company in the fish fry area!

Prices here start at $25 for the cheapest dish, without any drink. It’s not posted anywhere and there is no menu, so you have to wait in line and ask. I don’t like this. Prices should be posted, otherwise I feel like some businesses discriminate in pricing based on personal appearance or country of origin, and no one ever knows. I would love to come back and try the food if the pricing is made more transparent.

Wow, what a hidden treasure! All the meats are marinated, then slow cooked on lump charcoal for hours. Dip everything you get in a sauce Sonia needs to bottle and sell to tourists. Get away from the resort, and go eat something real on your Vacay! Oh and, Sonia is one of those lovely, crazy, talented, characters you will take home stories of for sure!

Hands down the best oxtail I have ever had in the Caribbean. The jerk chicken will jerk you out of your chair with how good it is. Sonia was super lovely and friendly her portions are family style, so come hungry and go back to your hotel comatose.

A few years ago my life was forever changed by Sonia and her amazing chicken. I dream of this chicken. I had no idea she was even on Google! This is some of the the Hand Down Best food in Nassau. Try it before you die! She has a small slice of heaven on earth!

EXCELLENT and a MUCH needed venture from the resort restaurants. Has a very welcoming vibe and the staff are super friendly. So much food and extremely tasty. The best value we've found so far. The jerk ribs and mac were our favorites. And don't skip on the sweet rolls!

This place is close to Fish Fry, but still a bit off the beaten track. Therefore, we were a bit skeptical but we came in, and were blown away by the food and the sweetness of Sonia and her family! We had such a great time and bonded greatly with everyone. After we had eaten the amazing jerk, we started dancing with the whole family. Such a great time! Thank you so much!

Awesome bbq ribs and chicken, boiled food and chicken curry. Macaroni was great. Miss Sonia was so inviting, friendly, and made great food at an amazingly affordable price! A must if you visit Nassau Fish Fry.

Awesome jerk chicken. And the rice was soo good. Only four stars because we couldn’t actually eat there. The place next door had a generator running and it was just too loud in a bad way. Sonia is so nice. Definitely recommend the food. Oh mix the mild and spicy sauces. So good!

I’m 6 months pregnant, and Sonia was SO sweet about it. The food is a 11/10 and she is so kind and personable. If you’re in the area this is the place to go! Food is definitely made with love

Couldn't ask for a better jerk in the Bahamas, I got the combination pork and chicken. Service was great the lady was soooo nice and sweet calling us names like "baby". Atmosphere is great but there are a few flies around.

Delicious chicken, huge portions. Feels like home cooking! The do have alcohol but can’t really make any cocktails 🍹.

Miss Sonia is awesome and her food... well let me put it this way... we went for a late lunch but ordered extra plates to take home. Her curried chicken was fantastic. We will visit her place again on our next trip to the Bahamas

Sonia is the real deal. No, I don't have much experience with jerk, or with other Bahamian/Caribbean food for that matter. What I can tell is that my two visits to Sonia's stand were phenomenal- the meat was delicious and tender (jerk chicken the first time, jerk pork the second), and the macaroni casserole and roll were welcome accompaniment. Sonia was kind and generous. The second time around, one person in my group wasn't going to buy any food, but Sonia wouldn't have it- she gave my friend a small plate of meat and fried bread. This is well worth a visit!

Not only best jerk in town but also honestly best corn bread (with hot sauce) we ever had. Sonia is the best, we fell in love with her, the food and all the good vibes of the area. Highly recommended!

Sonia and her kitchen are amazing!!!!!!! The food was fabulous but what made this experience was Sonia herself. She is so sweet, a joy to talk to, very lovely overall. We ordered chicken, pork and ribs.. all were amazing! The mild sauce has a kick and her pepper has an even bigger kick! We used 90% mild and 10% pepper. We saw this the first day we arrived to Nassau as we were heading over to Fish Fry and we’re so happy when we finally got to try it!

Absolutely delicious. We had jerk chicken and stewed chicken plates with rice and peas, boiled plantains. The flavor was on point. Best meal I’ve had on Nassau. Homemade with love. Sonia was so sweet. She added some gravy from the stewed chicken to my rice so I could try it. Try her pepper sauce if you like hot!
