A must see place when visiting the Bahamas. Only $20 per person to get in and hours of fun. There are so many exotic animals ranging from flamingos to peacocks to raccoons. Some of the the animals were out of cages just roaming around. You might also get the chance to hold a parrot if you ask one of the staff. Speaking of staff, they’re some of the most knowledgeable and friendly people you’ll ever meet ask them any questions you have and they’ll answer. The plants are super cool as well. Beautiful flowers and vines, some of the trees look like they are straight out of a Dr. Seuss book. Amazing water features with small bridges/walkways throughout the entire garden. There are so many paths to walk down if you don’t get lost you’re doing something wrong. There are zero bugs anywhere in the garden. And even less people, the whole time I spent walking through the garden which was about two hours I only saw maybe 3 other families. A very underrated place to visit in the Bahamas.

I visited on a Monday for a quick stop. This is a small zoo where I spent about 1 1/2 hours. They have a small gift shop and about every 30 minutes or so they have a flamingo show. I’d say it’s worth coming here if you have small children or are near the area as I was.

It was fine, it gave us something to do as a family. It is very basic and not particularly good value if you are to compare with main land outings. After 45 minutes walking very slowly we had seen it all.

We loved our visit to Ardastra Gardens! We walked to the location from the cruise port, it took about 30 minutes. It was a pretty hot walk in September with very little shade, and we were solicited by locals periodically along the trek. We walked past junkanoo beach, it would be a great pit stop if you wanted some beach time after the zoo. When we got to Ardastra we were greeted by friendly staff. The park was not crowded despite visiting on a weekend. We were allowed to walk the gardens at our own pace and thoroughly enjoyed the tropical foliage, the beautiful birds, creatures and the shade. Many of the birds greeted us with a "hello!" And we were able to interact with many of the animals, including flamingos and peacocks that are freely roaming the park. Ticketing process: We registered for our visit online a couple days before we arrived, the park emailed me back first thing the next morning confirming our reservations and we paid our entry fee at the park when we arrived. We spent about 2 great hours here, and decided to get a cab back to the cruise port, the friendly staff at the ticketing desk called a cab for us, it was a $12 ride back to the cruise port. Some previous reviewers mentioned bugs, so we brought bug spray but didn't need it, we did not experience any bugs.

This was a great find. We walked here from our cruise ship. However I would suggest a taxi. It is a little rough around there. We were fine but we realized we should have taken a taxi. The animals were. Great. The staff was great. They asked us if we were coming from a cruise ship. I said yes. And then we paid more than the guy in front of me who said he was staying on the island. 🥹

TAKE BUG LOTION (don't use the aerosols around the critters or plant life), or load up before you go in. The flamingos are well trained and put on a little show a couple times a day, kids can get involved and it's super cute! Some of the animals bite, which is to be expected, so stay smart/aware and keep kiddos back at arms length. You can pay to feed the goats, if that's your type of thing. All in all, our group was glad we went.

We went here mainly to see the Flamingos and saw several other animals. It would be nice if the habitats that were empty were marked as so. This place could use more donations to have enough staff to maintain the grounds better so it doesn't look so rundown. The animals looked healthy and cared for. The staff were knowledgeable.

While on a tour of the island our guide popped his tire. Instead of just hanging around Queens Staircase, we told him that we would be open to visiting the "Flamingo Zoo" so he flagged down a cabbie who took us here. It is relatively cheap for what you get. The majority of the animals were parrots that had been rescued or surrendered so there were a few that could do various cell phone tine tones from the early 2000s which threw us off. Besides that they are known for the flamingo show. Not sure what that entails as we didn't go but the flamingos were wandering around free and there is a breeding program we were told about. Besides the birds there were a couple other animals like the pigs and some empty looking cages but the animals were probably hiding from the heat. There is also parrot feeding throughout the day which we were lucky to partake in. You get slices of apple, locked in a giant cage, and hope the parrots land on you to eat them. I wasn't one of the lucky ones and the parrots needed to be placed on me, still fun. Staff were friendly and informative. They also care a lot about the local wildlife as well.

A great wildlife park to take your kids when visiting Nassau. The visitor rate for kids is $12 and adults around $20. They have an awesome flamingo show (check their site for show times) and the staff are pleasant. We loved it as adults.

Workers are super nice and will answer any questions. Walk up to them and talk even if it isn’t about the animals. Very cool experience and worth supporting.

Amazing assortment of rescued animals. It may be a small zoo but the animals are lively and well taken care of. They even have a flamingo attraction where certain flamingos know how to do tricks. I really enjoy the experience and recommend anybody go just to help support this conversation center.

Only takes about an hour, and $20 may be a bit high to get in, but it's a nice little place, and you get up close to the animals. It's a good fun, family activity out of the sun. Restrooms and parking were easy. Gift shop has reasonable prices.

This is such a cute little zoo. At first I thought they had just birds, but they have various other animals. Definitely a place I’d recommend visiting while in the Bahamas.

No Master Card discount 2 years ago, the flag still outside. Good plan if the weather is not the best and you have kid under 5. Flamingo show is OK. If you can stay on the bich don't go anywhere! ;)

Recently switched from zoo to conservation and could be happier for them. A very beautiful little conservation with a fun flamingo show and very knowledgeable "Kepper Talk" that they give several times a day which spotlights one of the animals they are caring for. You can walk among the flamingos and peacocks which is a fun unique experience. The animals appear well cared for and we saw several keepers actively managing the animals and grounds throughout the day. I do wish the botany plaques had a little more information on them about the plants but that is just something I would have enjoyed. The signs for the animals were good and listed some interesting facts.

Compared to other places I've been to, it doesn't seem that clean or well-maintained, but staffs are very friendly and it's nice to see animals uncaged. It was pretty cool experience to see flamingo and other colorful birds just walking around freely.

Beautiful setting for some lovely animals. Register your visit in advance on their website as they do keep numbers down due to Covid restrictions. Mask wearing is required and well complied with. Lower numbers means you get to spend as long as you want with each animal and macaws and flamingos wander around freely. Recommend a visit while you're in the area.

Small but lots to see (both in terms of plants and animals). Staff seems to care for the animals and some of the animals are free roam - you can see the parrots up close, watch a flamingo show, pet the goats (and buy a bag of feed for just $3). Definitely recommend to check out at least once.

The zoo is on the smaller side, but the experience is still great. The flamingos do a show and they have a pictures opportunity for guests. several other cute animals to see. the bird feeding is no longer available, but if you talk to a worker, some will allow you to put the macaw on your shoulder!

Very cool little conservation center. My wife and I loved it, and found the short flamingo show very cute and entertaining. Would be a great place for kids. Amazing variety of wildlife, and though it felt a little pricy we were happy to support their conservation efforts and thought the admission was very reasonable considering.

This park is fantastic. It’s beautiful, educational and a real gem of an attraction. It’s wonderful to see so many Flamingos and other birds freely walking around, and being able to get close to them for pictures really adds to the experience. The park opens from 10am Saturdays and Sundays with limited numbers currently due to Covid. You have to pre-book your time slot by filling in a registration form on their website, then they reply and book you in if available. The price is $20 per person.

Great place to visit in Nassau. Exotic animal species. The flamingo’s show was the best. A little bit of expensive for a self guided tour (30$/pers), but worthy!

It really feels more tropical than tropical. Lovely grounds with hidden walkways that feel ancient and sacred. It was a joy to see my toddler wonder about freely. Even better, many of the animals were freely roaming which added to the experience.

Ardastra is a great place for one and all. See and pose with the marching flamingos, feed the birds, pet the goats, talk with the parrots, pick up a nice gift from their gift store, snacks and treats, and more. A favourite tourist attraction.
